Wasn’t Booster nerfed into the ground?

I still prefer the Damage boost in general.

I didn't know having extra damage was a bad thing. 

 

No it was not nerfed into the ground. Its major strength were shifted from certain turrets and augments to others. And even then, the turrets that you lost power with, you can still easily make it back with a neat augment called Adrenaline. Unfortunately that does not exist in people's garages. Seems to be invisible next to all the status augments they complain is no longer good with Booster.

Well, it’s not but I meant relative to many other drones.

Doesn’t it currently have just a modest 10% boost?

I assume you mean melee and short range turrets as opposed to burst damage turrets as it was before.

20 additional units. The interaction changes can be found in Game Discussion. Relative to the other drones, it is still great because you get infinite BD uptime (also encompasses the ability to use BA + BD immediately from spawn) and you get minor/major interaction changes with different equipment that come in clutch many times.

Most single-shot turrets now have very strong minor interaction changes with Booster. For example, the 900 trio of Tesla, Striker and Thunder will have 1,980 damage with Booster, very close to, but not over 2,000 (major interaction change). Extra damage by default will increase the % protection needed to properly protect yourself against a turret. A normal Tesla needs 45% to not be instantly screwed over by its burst damage properties. A Tesla with Booster needs 50% for that. But then Adrenaline exists and pushes it over 2k, and you're back to square one. 

Gauss and Shaft with 670 base damage will have 1,474, close to the damage barrier of 1,500. Gauss with 1,800 sniping damage will have 3,960 at the end. Of course, that neat augment Adrenaline easily takes it above 4,000 and 1,500, but people only see status augments in their garage. 

Hammer in particular is the turret that was most enhanced by that global balance change, both with Booster and with Crisis. 

 

Booster main strengths have been nerfed but relative to other drones, it is still powerful and widely used. Booster users have had it great throughout the years. Getting their damage boost for free before November 2019 and still being on top of everything after they made it consume 2 additional. Suddenly when other drones now have a fighting chance it's garbage yet still the other drones less powerful than it cost the same fortune to upgrade. They should  e half they upgrade a drone that was meta for years instead of a normal drone that turned crap overnight and stayed that way.
