question for you about an augment?

Question

the corrosion augment of thunder reads as this

"Adds a few shells with a unique chemical composition that enables them to instantly destroy even the strongest armor plating, on a critical hit, such shells can destroy armor of multiple tanks at once"

it's a lie because I recently played a battle on Juggernaut Mode with that exact augment, and it shows up as "Immune"

but the title says "destroy even the strongest armor plating" so if that's the case then shouldn't it destroy the Juggernauts armor plating since it says "destroy even the strongest armor plating"

I expected this augment to destroy to the Juggernauts Armor plating since it says briefly "destroy even the strongest armor plating"

so, I am confused as to why this augment doesn't "destroy even the strongest armor plating" since clearly the strongest armor plating is the Juggernauts armor plating

so please don't lie to me and tell me the truth as to why this particular augment doesn't do as it says in the description "DESTROY EVEN THE STRONGEST ARMOR PLATING"

The Juggernaut's supply icons are purely visual. Its boosted armour does not reduce damage. Its boosted damage does not increase its damage. Its speed boost does not increase its speed. Juggernaut just has base stats that it uses at all times and depends on the modification level of your turret and hull.

If you're not aware of the mechanics of the game, there are status effects. Corrosion Shells is Thunder's AP status augment. The AP status temporarily disables the direct damage reducers in the game, those include:

  • Boosted Armour
  • Extra Armour
  • Protection module
  • Titan's dome

You apply 5 seconds of the status to enemies within a 12m radius of the centre of the explosion 9nna critical hit.

As stated previously, it is a status effect. Juggernaut is immune to negative status effects.

Do NOT take augment descriptions so seriously. The parameters of them change often and many descriptions either do not reflect what they do in the current version of the game, or have exaggerated writing. If any other augments are confusing you, you are free to ask here again.

Most augments have their descriptions put in a light where they are "the ultimate thing". But they're usually underwhelming, and compared to their descriptions more so. But if these augments did as they were described, then there'd be little point to immunities to the effects of them. Juggernaut has universal immunity, where it is left unaffected by everything. It's the same with paladin overdrive and the brief moment whilst using a repair kit. If there were augments which could simply bypass the immunity to them, then it would be devastating for game balance, of which there isn't much to speak of anyway. They're not going to change the description for augments just because an odd few people somehow don't realise that something meant to apply Armor-piercing doesn't do such thing to people with Armor-piercing immunity or polarisation (repair kit, paladin OD...). I would like to believe that most people don't really care much for the descriptions to begin with, I know I don't. The effect is given away by the very icon of the augment anyway. I could say the same about this augment as I could for Super-Armor-Piercing-Rounds for Railgun, if they were so "super", then they'd pierce armor even in spite of having Armor-piercing immunity... You see how it just wouldn't work? Use common sense, the descriptions (for those who even bother to read them) are to make the augments sound more powerful than they usually are. Other times it gives a brief description on what the augment does - which is better overall.

Augment descriptions are exaggerated to make the augments sound cool. Some of them don't even match the actual parameters.

What's important is that you're reading the advantage/disadvantage list; those tell you what the augments actually do.
