Drone "blaster" with turrets!

Drone blaster! We all get the idea that it's extremely powerful, causing great damage while ignoring supplies and armor.

So what's the solution?! If the damage is reduced, the drone will be useless! If we combine its damage with the turrets 

Well how will this work?!, cancel the "chaos" damage, and make damage from the turret. Example: Isida uses a "blaster" that attacked you, if you destroy it the drone will destroy you, but if you install protection against Isida the protection will reduce the damage caused by the drone.

Even when the owner of this drone kills someone with it, it will show a kill Turret sign and not a "chaos" effect.

I think this idea will help a lot, especially since this is a drone that can destroy tanks inside the Titan Dome, even an attack on the owner of this overdrive drone for a Hunter, Mammoth or Hopper will also end in death.

I personally haven't had too many issues with Blaster users. I mean — it's annoying for sure, but not worse than some of the other drones IMO.

This Drone is a problem for many players.

when you attack it with a Hunter, Hopper or Mammoth (Overdrive) and destroy its owner, you die too.

Even a Wasp bomb if you kill him with it you also die (killed by bomb damage) Even inside the dome of Titan, this drone will kill you, even with AP immunity.

The only good thing is that she kills Paladin during Overdrive. XD

Wait, did you actually discuss this with many other players, or is the drone a problem for you, and so you're assuming it's a problem for many others?

Anyway, I think the drone has enough counters to compensate for it's strengths:

  • Jammer augments
  • Players seeing the drone and killing from a distance
  • Players moving away to avoid the blast

Plus, if you're using Blaster, you can't use any of the other drone abilities, some of which are (arguably) much more powerful.

Wait, was it actually turret damage? Like, if you had protection from the player's turret, his Blaster dealt less damage?

I always assumed it was generic turret damage. One that you could protect from using Titan's dome, DA or Spectre modules, but not any specific turret module.

I always assumed it was generic turret damage. One that you could protect from using Titan's dome, DA or Spectre modules, but not any specific turret module.

It was specific to the turret that the Blaster player was using. A reason why it was obnoxious after the buff it got to its splash radius was if you did not have protection against the turret and you didn't have DA, it would immediately kill 2/3 hull classes from full HP. Heavy hulls would die from full HP if very near the explosion. Equipment like Jammer and AP Freeze applied 1 second of the status to anyone caught in the radius explosion.

 

The change to chaos damage removed that one-shot aspect at range. It will take off 75% of a light hull, 50% of a medium hull, 37.5% of a heavy hull's HP. A heavy hull near the epicentre can survive now if without DA. The bonus it got with chaos damage was countering Titan OD.

Wait, only 50% to a medium hull? I feel like I've been nearly one-shot by Blasters on multiple occasions recently (using Hunter), but I wasn't really paying attention so maybe I already had like 60% health left.

Current paramaters are 3m max damage range, 4m average damage range, 20m min damage rang, with the damage dropping from 100% to 50% between 3m and 4m. Ground zero for the explosion starts where the turret's mount is. A hull like Wasp or Dictator would want to be driving backwards to maximise the chances of a nearby enemy being within the 3m range. 

 

3m is small. For comparison, Crusader's maximum damage radius is 3m. Many times I've had my icicle deal between 4,000 and 1,000 damage or just deal 1,000 damage even when directly hit. Blaster might even be more finnicky than the Icicle since both tanks are in motion at any given time. Usually you'd deal the max damage if someone is directly on top of you. With my Ping on mobile, if a Blaster user is touching my Crusader then it's almost guaranteed that I'm going to die because it's likely that on their screen my tank is on top of them at the time of death.

Chaos damage is supposed to be unblockable, what you are suggesting will negate this feature. If this is implemented, then other items which causes chaos damage must be changed accordingly to maintain overall game balance (eg. Wasp Bombs, Ares OD ball, Mammoth OD, etc.)
