If I had to guess, it's probably an alt account that belongs to a developer (or the account could just belong to a special person, similar to sidlob). You'd have to get into the game really early in order to have a one-character name.

plenty of players use capital 'i' and lowercase 'l' to make similar nicknames as well, another known method.

i have seen that player a couple of times in battle too. i don't know if they renamed tir account, or that the account is just really old. curious about the answer though

Maybe they want the singular nicknames to be paid
