Wait so are we getting gold box skins or not? Didn't Hazel said we are getting them on this event? Also is v-log postponed?

Anyways first feeling of this event. GREAT. Im not even actually mad that we are not getting some of the og new year maps in the modes. I mean I wouldn't mind you can still put them there to make it even better but still I really like this event. Finally we are getting Gold Rush and Legendary Gold Rush at the same time. I think this should also repeat on Halloween next year.

I'm glad we got the new year map for this event, missed it last year. But no featured hull augments in containers is kinda disappointing, it's been a while..

Hazel clearly said in the interview that there will be gold box skins on the new year event tell me if Im wrong. The only option here they keeping it as a secret cuz they didn't even show any single gold box in the v-log which is weird. Im HOPING we will see them.
Also Im pretty sure we are getting Ho-Ho-Ho Siren for gold boxes and its also not in the announcement

The 30 augments that are added to epic container section legendary rarity, can you add them to common container section legendary rarity too ? @Opex-Rah I don't want to wait a year to open my common container I saved, because I'm waiting for you to add those cool augments in legendary rarity of common container too

Well, at least you can have any of the New Year Maps since 2014 till 2021 (except 2020) in Pro Battles

That's way better Festive Season (Christmas & New Year) than last year's one. 

Advantages:

• More festive decorations (Gold Box festive skins, which makes them look like a gift) Man it reminds me of those gifts which were in game before removing Flash from the game. Badge, Like, Golden Wrench, Blue Sphere and holiday ones. I'd really like to see them in this game.
• Discounts - I think no need to say more about it
• More Gold Boxes in all special modes - really good addiotion for all Gold Hunters and other players who can earn extra crystals from battles (Although it's not a lot from them).
• Festive maps in PRO Battles  - I really like the idea of bringing back old festive maps for PRO battles,(Old New Year 2015, Snowman, New Year) it's a really good option for those who miss old vibe of Christmas in Tanki. I hope more often such option will be in game when for example Halloween or such Festive Seasons. It's a win-win for those who prefer old maps and those who enjoy current, new maps.

Disadvantages:

• Repetitiveness - Missions repeat whole time. Not even set of them is changing. Comparing to the last year festive festival, we needed only 500 reputations points than 600, but also have to finish 7 battles (4 times) to be able to complete whole set of missions (in past in 2 set only finish 5 battles and appearing only 2 times), super missions had 15 stars back then, now just 3 epic keys + use overdrive 12 times when in last festive season 10 times and also + 1 more mission to each set now. Also fact that there were 3 special missions (in general) for everyone, when now only 1 for those who don't have Premium and Battle Pass bought. Many other missions also repeat ( get into TOP-3 once, be in winning team 3 times each set except 1st one) What about adding mission to catch Gold Boxes, for example "Catch 10 Gold Boxes in matchmaking battles." ? Catching Gold Boxes is pretty easy, but of course depends in situation in battlefield and equipement you have equipped, so such missions shouldn't be a really big problem to complete. Maybe a mission "Use grenade 10 times" or 20 times could be a good idea? Yeah, they aren't as cheap as supplies, but still the requirement to complete them shouldn't be a really huge problem. You can buy grenades in showcase with 90% discount + opening containers give many 1000 crystals (0,8 grenade ) so it shouldn't be a really challenging thing. Ofc there is new type of mission to kill 1 player with grenade but just 1? Why not something new?
• Prizes from missions -  Yeah, many times prizes decreased (Supermissions) and we need to play more to complete whole set. It used to be a lot more Epic Containers back then (Now we have epic keys) - 15. Decreased to 3 (Ice Age 2023), Increased to 5 epic keys (Halloween 2024 and Tankers Day 2024) and again to 3 epic keys (Winter Festival 2024 and now Festive Season). Not to mention fact that supermission for Advent Calendar (F2P one) also had 5 epic containers/keys (Autumn Festival 2023, Tankers Day 2024) and also decreased to 3 (Day of The Dead 2024, Winter Festival 2024). What's next?!... or maybe not to "give ideas" about it. Just play more for less prizes...
• Snowman special mode - again that? Now it's a tradition or something?! Meh, I'm not a big fan of that. In a random moment getting that Pulsar status effect with many useless status effects (EMP, Armor Piercing, Jammer) and get knocked down easily.

reminder that it's hot in Australia rn, so the snowball mode is not inclusive at all and is actually an insult to the entirety of the southern hemisphere

New Year Remastered is so bright I can barely see anything on my phone's screen when playing the DM mode. I'm dying but if it's not a Firebird or Freeze, I can hardly tell what is killing me. 

The same people using the same overtuned turret and hull augments that ruin the experience for the people at the bottom. People without those overtuned augments may have to face a ton of protection modules against the turret. 

It being a Remaster map makes it more likely for me to get a screen freeze and for the game to hang for 5+ minutes, making me have to manually restart my device, assuming the device doesn't restart itself. 

This mode with the Salyut grenades is exactly what I had initially feared about the release of the Bomb grenades. I feared that it would be a case where I would barely be able to get value out of grenade throws due to how inconvenient they are to press on the screen and no way to actually aim to like PC can with it's multiple inputs at once. Thankfully for the Bomb grenades that isn't the case and I get reasonable value from them. But this mode I can't even make use of the grenades because I'm stuck on hover hulls because tracked hulls firstly require too much effort for the reward from me and secondly their maneuvering with the joystick was downgraded in the transition to HTML5 making it even harder for me to control them. 

 

I wanted to enjoy this event mode but the game wouldn't let me, a running theme throughout 2024 for me in Tanki.
