After getting kicked out of the same game, multiple times, I attempted to ask a valid question. This was my question...

Before concluding that the issue is caused by Tanki Online, it is important to perform a few troubleshooting steps to determine whether the problem is actually related to the game, your device, or your network connection.

For PC Players Using the Game Client

Please check the following:

  1. Clear the game cache.

  2. Verify that you have installed the correct client version for your operating system.

This is one of the most common mistakes players make. For example, if you are using Windows 11 but accidentally install a client version intended for Windows 8.1 or another operating system, it may result in performance issues, crashes, or unexpected bugs.

Additionally:

  • Make sure your system is not overloaded with excessive cached data.

  • Delete temporary files regularly.

  • Remove unnecessary files and folders to keep your system clean and optimized.

A cluttered system can negatively affect overall performance and may cause issues that appear to be game-related when they are actually device-related.

For Players Using a Web Browser

If you play Tanki Online through a browser, many of the same recommendations apply:

  • Clear your browser cache.

  • Remove unnecessary temporary files.

  • Ensure your browser is up to date.

  • Check that no unnecessary background applications are consuming system resources.

The same advice also applies to laptop users.

Sometimes a small issue can have a surprisingly large impact on your gaming experience.

Network Diagnostics

If you continue experiencing lag, connection issues, or packet loss, it is recommended to contact Customer Support. However, before doing so, you can perform your own network diagnostics using a tool such as WinMTR.

WinMTR allows you to:

  • Monitor your connection route.

  • Detect packet loss.

  • Identify latency spikes.

  • Determine whether the issue originates from your network rather than the game servers.

If packet loss or unstable routing is detected, the problem may be related to your internet connection or Internet Service Provider rather than Tanki Online itself.

VPNs and Browser Extensions

VPN services and certain browser extensions can sometimes interfere with game performance, especially when using the Tanki client.

If you are experiencing unusual lag, connection drops, or login issues, try temporarily disabling:

  • VPN applications

  • Proxy services

  • Network-related browser extensions

Then test the game again to see whether performance improves.

Server-Side Issues

It is also important to remember that occasional lag or technical issues can originate from the game itself. Like any online game, Tanki Online may occasionally experience:

  • Server maintenance

  • Technical difficulties

  • Temporary performance degradation

  • Regional network routing problems

When this happens, patience is sometimes required while the team resolves the issue.

If you discover a bug, encounter a recurring issue, or have suggestions for improvements, do not hesitate to contact Customer Support or discuss the matter with the game administrators and moderators through official community channels. They are there to assist players and collect valuable feedback.

For Developers and Power Users

If you frequently use development tools such as Visual Studio Code, IDEs, virtual machines, or other resource-intensive software, avoid running them while gaming whenever possible.

These applications can consume:

  • CPU resources

  • RAM

  • Disk activity

  • Network bandwidth

As a result, Tanki Online may receive fewer system resources, leading to lower performance.

Additional Tip for Lower-End Systems [ Potato PCs ]

For players using lower-specification PCs or laptops, one simple optimization may help:

Run Tanki Online as Administrator.

Running the client with administrator privileges can sometimes help Windows prioritize the application more effectively and prevent permission-related issues that may affect performance.

While this is not a guaranteed solution, many players have reported smoother gameplay after using this method.

Final Thoughts

Before assuming that a bug, lag spike, or performance problem is caused by Tanki Online, always take a few minutes to check your device, software environment, and network connection first.

A systematic approach can often reveal the true cause of the issue and save both you and the support team valuable time. If the problem persists after completing all recommended troubleshooting steps, then it becomes much easier to determine whether the issue may be related to the game itself.

Fun Fact : im a normal player in the game and i tried to help from my exp, so dont think im a admin or something you can just skip this whole reply and carry on having issues 😎

0, played like 30 battles today

That doesn't seem to be the norm if you read the in-game chat...

I'm 100% sure it is caused by tanki online.

Thanks for your interest, though.

And thanks for everyone else's sudden random interest as well.

And I would like to elaborate that any advice given by Mohammad also apply to mobile devices such as Androids, Tablets, iPhones and iPads.📱

Whether you use the browser link through your favourite browser (Chrome, Safari, etc ...) or through the client app (a wrapper around the browser) , it is always safe to troubleshoot these problems beforehand by performing the following:

Clearing cache for the app and the browser , every month or so to avoid corruptions (PC/Laptop also)

Ensuring your system and apps stay up to date (PC/Laptop also)

Using your phone/PC/laptop's integrated performance modes, as well as minimizing background activity for resource intensive tasks

Avoiding the usage of VPNs and DNS'es that don't serve high speed connectivity (PC/Laptop also)

Play using Wi-Fi whenever possible on mobile, and Ethernet on PC/Laptop, and avoid mobile data for inaccuracy and signal dependence (Applicable to some laptops that support it)

Use the highest possible frequency band for your Wi-Fi and mobile data (5G, Wi-Fi 7, etc ...) (Applies to Ethernet too by cable technology standards such as Cat7, etc ...)

Use apps such as Speedtest by Ookla, and WiFiman by Ubiquiti to identify problems with your internet, or even the exact ping from your router to Tanki's domain/server (I used a feature to add Tanki's domain on WiFiman) (Not sure on PC/Laptop though)

Some of the following principles apply also to PCs/Laptops :

Clearing cache for any device can fix anything from connectivity issues to sudden performance drops or even crashing on startup/midgame

Keep in mind that deleting cache slows the game, as cache is basically like a small backpack for easy access to data. With multiple uses long term, it will wear out and start having outdated content that corrupts loading and can introduce lags as the game streams new content as you play using your internet connection on any device

In my case on Android, clearing cache by going to Chrome > 3 dots menu > Settings > Site Settings > Data Stored > Tanki Online , as well as clearing cache through the apps settings on your phone's settings app can contribute to the loss of non saved accounts and settings configurations going back to defaults (Things like Graphics, control layouts, etc ...) (not sure if this happens to PCs/Laptops as well)

You will feel menus become a bit sluggish and icons popping up mid scrolling, but that is normal as the cache rebuilds itself on any device

After the data is restored gradually on the devices, the game will be faster and more responsive as a result of organised data streams

The effects aren't as pronounced on PCs/Laptops, as they have more processing power, but on mobile, cache is there to help your phone/tablet skip constant data streams and bandwidth consumption, and allow your hardware to work effectively and efficiently ✅

And keep in mind, the game, as Mohammed had explained, can also have hiccups that negatively affect server performance and may lead to the need for full restarts, temporary shutdowns or maintenance sessions to prevent further damage to server equipment or our devices if God forbid a bad update comes our way ✨ Thank you for reading 🙏

Well its true, I don't face any issues when playing tanki usually, sometimes i do when there is a global issues that effects the whole game, but this is temporary, this issues that you are having are most likely caused by the region your in "servers maybe" or a WIFI issue "also, it could be some requirement that you don't have maybe ? pc specs ?", you could message tanki support to find a solution if it is always the case...

So, now the graphics are choppy and lag filled--at least tanki doesn't kick you out of the matches now.

Massive 'pauses' in the game. UNplayable.

When in doubt... it's ALWAYS tanki.
