There's no assist system, this makes it almost impossible to get experience in large team battles, and forces players to killsteal to progress.

The balance is a joke, firebird needs a massive nerf, players that didn't grind have no chance of making crystals because everyone else is like 6 ranks higher with better equipment and supplies.

It's going to end up with low rank players refusing to play and very low players at higher rnaks.

@Opex-RahI know it's just a minor feedback but I noticed on people's stream for tanki classic, when you want to join a red team, your health bar stays blue like the current tanki, where in old tanki, if you join red team, the health bar is red and if you join blue team, the health bar is blue.

For example, for the red team, the health bar is red, including for the teammates : https://prnt.sc/tLmGzg-1C1Fu

Back in the day, higher rank equipment was ACTUALLY better then everything that came before it.

We also sold kits with early access to even higher ranked equipment.

Hello.
 
I started playing Tanki Online around 2012, and my journey with the game lasted until 2020. It was a great time when the game had a massive player base, including many people from my home country, Poland. Back then, there was a whole generation of players who were much older than the current population. Unfortunately, to be honest, that wonderful community stopped playing because of pointless, over-complicating updates that stripped away the game's simplicity. Most people simply didn't like those changes, which drove them away to competing titles.
Now I see that after all these years, you have decided to reactivate the archaic interface and return to the era when the game was at its peak. I found out about Tanki Classic completely by chance, and I must admit it is the smartest move you have made since creating this game. It gives me hope that many veteran players, like myself ;), will return. I’m not sure what prompted this decision—perhaps you’ve finally started respecting players' opinions, or perhaps declining revenue statistics forced the developers to realize that implementing certain ideas can sometimes have the opposite of the intended effect.
Regardless, I am very grateful for this turn of events. I have to ask: is there any chance the official premiere of Tanki Classic could happen sooner than the currently indicated 190 days? Thank you once again, and greetings from an old legend of the game on behalf of the entire Polish community! 🙂

And to my knowledge recruit players would not have access to battles with players several ranks above them. Right now, literally in all battles, you are forced to fight players up to Legend and if you create a private battle, the max rank is like warrant officer 1.

Funny though how you focused your message only on a few words and ignored the rest of the feedback.

But let me tell you, this game is still very VERY far from the original "Tanki classic experience". If anything it feels like playing a Temu version of it.

I used to play with wasp m1 and Isida m2 against firebirds m3 and was doing just fine, I'm aware that higher rank equipment was better, but it didn't stop me from having fun. However back in the day, a new player with m0 would never fight a player with m3 unless a specific "all ranks" battle was created by staff, creating battles had several restrictions for players in terms of ranks.

Oh, and short range turrets dealt damage every 0.5s rather than 0.25s, this is what makes firebird so incredibly busted.

Classic runs on the same engine as TO, it's basically the same game without the rest of the features. Repair kit at full HP is a feature in tanki online, so no it's not a bug, but since there's no status effects in classic, it doesn't make much sense to have it

90% of maps are just people being boring and farming fire/wasp/Island, can something be done about this? I just want to play normal classic tanki.

So far, with what I experienced, Classic has got its potential. 

First, I got two complaints bundled together: the equipment rank-up distribution, emulating 2008 instead of 2011 or later, plus the planned obsolescence for most guns in-game, wasting the special properties of almost all equipment. There's a question on how useful Smoky XT or LC will be, since Smoky is planned to be the weakest weapon meant for noobs, yet XT is unlocked at Brigadier (as I currently see). So... it's a vanity item, or maybe Smoky XT will indeed have better stats?? Either way, the obsolescence system makes me worry for the future.

Now for the positives. An old feature I do like is the 1/10 economy. Please keep it because it's easy and simple 🙂.

The paints got very interesting rank requirements, but I welcome it... because it means I get Hoholma earlier!

Speaking of paints, I don't care about bringing back paint protections, and I imagine neither does the Tanki Classic team. Too much work. The planned module protections are logical enough.

To my experience, the rate of overdrive charge was quite slow, which is a good sign. If all overdrive types are to be like this, I wouldn't complain... as long as they will be off by default.


I don't believe hull movement is finished yet, so I have no notes. Will Classic emulate 2008 hull speed (all the same) or post-2012 hull speed (various physical properties + Hunter M3 technically being fastest)? Tanki underwent constant balance changes between 2014 and 2020, so maybe there's a physics snapshot that the Classic team is focused on, like March 2019?

As for balance, oh boy. The drugging already started and I feel bittersweet about it. Still, keep it as is. No PTW yet.

Also on topic of supplies, I lived through almost every iteration of Tanki's supply cooldowns. Which iteration of cooldowns should we expect in Classic? The very first one, or the current one? Maybe a Classic-exclusive solution, similar to protection modules?

Looking at the garage, I am expecting the eventual return of the small shed in Classic. Are there any plans to implement holiday flavors of the garage in Classic? Will the holiday paint have a true holiday version, or just all checkers all day?

Since this project is newly opened, that's all I have for now. Thank you Classic team for releasing the first test during Winter break! If anything new comes up, or an earlier topic gets an update, I'll make a post about it, especially on the actively-developed features. Cheers!

Hey Hazel, I was wondering if the balance and progression system shown in TC right now is a final decision, or if there's any chance we could have the progression system we had in the mid 2010s? A big part of the appeal back then was the satisfaction of grinding out ranks to unlock a new M2 turret or finally get into the Brigadier-General ranks and start unlocking M3s, and the current system we have now seems detrimental to that, and also pretty overwhelming to join a map as an M0 and be put up against M3s this early on. Could this perhaps be put up as something we can vote on as a community?

from what i remember there will be status effects at higher ranks from skins or whatever...

maybe it'll be a vote or something i dont know.

the point of tanki classic is not adding new things, is remain the old things, nothing more (obvs adding old maps is valid)

But wouldn't it be better to have newer maps, just like when mapmakers were around that classic era? 🫢

who knows, maybe in the future, opex says: !oh i want to add new maps in tanki classic, let's go!" and we will have new maps, but for the moment.... i dont think.

I really hope they do, part of the classic memo was to bring back the older version, but around that time we also had unique once-in-a-lifetime maps like the 2012 New Years map and the Halloween maps (excluding the graveyard map), including others like Train Station that were never returned back into the server

Plus the fact that new maps kept appearing almost each month back in 09-11 and the interest many had first time playing on them, that is another factor that isn't considered much nostalgia-wise, and I hope (if it ever happens) they add newer stuff to keep players excited! ☺️
