If you haven't already bought M1 isida, I suggests you wait for a sale, as smoky M1 is still helpful, once you get 3 - 4 ranks higher, that's when it smoky M1 isn't as effective. Rank up as much as you can, buy M1 and M2 when a sale comes.

Shouldn't have MU'd smoky at M1, that's a bad mistake, only start Micro-Upgrading when you have a M3 turret or hull. You'll be wasting your crystals. You have a long way till you can get M2 smoky, so I'd say isida is a good option along with hornet, till you get to Colonel then go for M2 smoky.

The 'best' M1 turret would be ricochet along with viking being the hull. But then again there is no 'best' turret or hull, it depends on your gameplay style.

Firebird, freeze, isida would go well with hornet, as it's a fast hull, and is made for close range; rushing for objectives. Thunder, smoky would go well with viking, as it's more of a support tank, mid-range combat.

If you're going to use mammoth or titian, vulcan would be the way to go, twins wouldn't be all that bad, but smoky and twins go well with medium hulls, preferably viking or hunter.
