You rotate your turret left and right using your keyboard and when you shoot directly at the tank (not slightly to the side), the game automatically changes the tilt of your shot to hit the enemy tank. If you shoot at the enemy and they are slightly above/below you, then the shot will still hit the enemy tank provided that you aimed well horizontally and the angle is not beyond the maximum angle of your gun's depression/elevation, i.e. how far up/down the shot can go. This is what auto-aim does. The new auto-aim mechanism is now set to hit the turret as well as the hull, whereas before the turret was only visual and no gun, except for Shaft, was able to hit it. With this change guns with high knockback, such as Railgun, easily flipped light hulls over with a shot to the side, so players became annoyed at the fact that after getting hit with Railgun they often had to self-destruct. Today's update changed the knockback (impact) force of Railgun and Smoky, so that you have a lower chance of getting flipped when getting hit by one of these guns. In the future please ask questions about the game in the official topic: Questions and Answers. Closed.

Wow, I completely missed that update... Oh, never mind - it's new.

What update though?

Easy for you, but hard for the Warrant Officers and annoying for the high ranks on the enemy team, who have to deal with the WOs weakening their team. It's a lot more fair now and IMHO, having stronger opponents and a fair game is what makes it interesting and fun, not dominating weak players and winning a game with 100-0 flags. Are you sure the impact forces were reduced? When?

Tanki Online as a company reserves the right to change their product without listening to the customers' (a.k.a. players) advice and without owing them anything. You play this game for free, therefore you don't own any shares in it and you don't have the right for refunds. You have the right to demand it and say that it's wrong, but the developers aren't obliged to repay you anything. Buying crystals for real money doesn't give you any privileges either. You can look at it this way: all the money you invest into the game are a mere "donation" which you give away and the crystals you get for donating are like a "thank you" from the developers. As for the ideas, the I&S section rules have been formed to allow ideas with potential to be noticed, but those ideas, which have no way of being realised, need to be removed. This includes ideas about refund/sale of items, ideas about reversion to a previous version and other ideas, which will never be implemented. Even if a valid idea gets thousands of upvotes and is really popular with the players, it's still completely up to the developers to decide whether they want to add it or not. And they reserve the right to ignore/remove the idea without explaining any reasons. -
Pfffft, I'm way too lazy for that effort. Besides, there's not really an ideal waiting location, unless I choose one for every spot, which isn't happening. The best thing to do after the siren is to drive around the map and check as many spots as you can.
