Contest [Issue 29] Continue the Story! [Chapter 4]
FaaiqBilal1 replied to Pathfinder in Newspaper Archive
I know this is way over 500 words, but since this is the end of the story, I had to take it long k. It's 1025 words btw. A brother till death I ran without stopping or halting at all as I dragged Boris with me, even though he did not hesitate running with me. Our heavy army wear was making us slow and made it harder for us to run. Trying to move as agile as I could; I swiftly turned into a narrow alley which led out to our rendezvous point, as my instantaneous thought began to take shape. I ran with all of my strength and breath, through streets which could not be distinguished, as I lost my way in this labyrinth of Berlin. After running through countless streets, and taking several turns I lost track of, I halted, Boris having halted with me. ‘Seriously Boris, couldn’t you have thought of an easier way to get that disk?!’ I scolded him. ‘Anyway, where are your associates? The insiders? Can they tell us a way out? I really have no idea where to go now, and we mustn’t stay here, we’re being followed by German soldiers!’ ‘I understand, but they can no longer help us, as I had only paid them nuff’ to fake my identity.’ He replied, exalting his heavy breath from our relentless chase. ‘How’s your arm?’ I asked as I examined his wound. ‘I’ve been shot… but I’m fine, for now.’ He calmly replied. I produced a modern tracking device from my bag, and I fiddled around with it trying to track our position. It tracked our exact position in under half a minute, which I considered a good omen for our further journey. ‘Our rendezvous is about two blocks east after which we meet Commander Nikolai. Travel light, ditch what you can, and move quickly, we only have two hours to reach the chopper. Our buddy Schmidt has plotted us a safe route through the German patrols. We’ll have a five minute window between each patrol, our resources confirm. Hopefully, we won’t be needing any weapons, but just keep a silenced handgun in case we need it.’ We removed most of our possessions, and ditched them into a garbage can in an alley, as we travelled with our GPS, a handgun, and lightened our armor, to increase maneuverability. We sprinted through the alleys, which formed an indistinctive maze, yet provided us with perfect composure, as to our silent escape. My attention diverted towards my receiver, which indicated a message from Commander Nikolai. ‘Warehouse #106, a quarter mile east of your location, stocked supplies, light weapons and armour.’ The message read. ‘Looks like it’s our lucky day’ I told Boris. ‘I hope we could bet on it’ He answered instantly. We continued our tiring trek, as we ran across streets and through the buildings. The scenario displayed ruin, dismay, and death, which contrived to an unquestionable fact that war was not a step towards peace. How many lives were lost? How many people driven out of their homes? Who was responsible? Is this invasion justified? As these thoughts bugged my mind, I decided to share them with my companion, Boris, who I could trust all my secrets with. ‘Boris, is this war justified? Is this our fight?’ I questioned him, in a curious manner. ‘Why be all philosophical, mate?’ he replied as he broke up into a chortle of laughter. ‘We fight for the name of our country, we fight to defend it, and to claim its honour’ I gave no reply for this, and we continued silently. It took us at least half an hour to reach the warehouse, and the journey was utmost tiring. The warehouse was old, made of wood and had a foul stench as soon as I opened its gates. ‘Not a great disguise, y’ know?’ commented Boris. ‘Talk later, savor the supplies and get ready to move on. Patrols arrivin’ any minute now.’ I replied as I packed our supplies with haste. I collected our light handguns and dumped them onto the table. I emptied my bag onto the floor and collected one which was already packed for us. I picked up a silenced assault rifle and passed it on to Boris, and kept a short machine gun for myself. ‘Now that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout!’ cried Boris. We now had our required possessions for the rest of our journey, and Boris had wrapped his arm in some sort of a cloth. I demanded the condition of his arm, apparently, he was still able to shoot accurately with it, which was certainly a relief. We walked out of the warehouse from the back of the building. I looked towards my watch. We had just over 10 minutes to reach our rendezvous point. I looked towards the buildings that surrounded us. Architecture worth remark and strict alignment of buildings in diverging patterns; Solid German work. The roads and streets seemed crimson from the dust and blood that reigned the surface. We continued our journey for another five minutes before we came to a halt. Finally, we reached the chopper. It had landed on the ground, which was a daring decision to counter with the regular patrols. We approached the chopper with utmost relief, but just when I was a few metres away from the chopper, we see a tank shooting towards us. I took cover behind a building, as Boris followed. Our escape had gone to ruin. We were doomed to die in this country. As the certainty of our death approached my mind, I could only think of one thing. My family. I remembered how we savored and cherished our great moments together. The memories which flushed through my mind in a moment. It took a while for the thought to settle in, during which my senses had died. My heart, my emotion had now taken over my moral though. For the second time in war, I was at loss of what to do. I got up, passed an assault rifle to Boris, picked one for myself and said to him. ‘One last gunfight.’ ‘Our last gunfight.’ He replied with certainty. We came out of our hiding and shot straight at the army of soldiers that had to deal with us – the lone Russian survivors in Berlin. -

You're asking for a whole computer set (keyboards, mouse, monitors, and the CPU+components) for 350$? You can easily pirate the OS... :33 Other than that... you need to increase your budget m8. If you're needing a keyboard for games, you need one with anti-ghosting. You can get a decent gaming keyboard (anti-ghosting to 8 keys) for about 30$. That cuts your budget to 320$. If you want a good monitor worth even looking at you'll have to spend a minimum of 50-60$. (say you're lucky and you get a good monitor for 50 bucks) you'll have 270$ left. You can't even get a decently good PC in this budget. In case you can't get your OS for free (.-.) that cuts your budget another 50 bucks.

^Nope, I easily play with 90 PING on RU1 when it's crowded. I don't play if I'm lagging. I only play as mult for friends if Im lagging ok

RAM's good. Processor... urr go for an AMD, you'll find it cheaper, it runs cooler and will be newer (thanks for Mr.Dreyar for this information) GPU.. again, integrated intels aren't really that good..... I really doubt it will run tanki on all settings with above 30-40 FPS, most probably less....
-
You won't get those specs in that price range.... it takes your budget up by atleast 150$. You can however get those specs if you opt to build the PC your self. If you aren't building your PC, there is no reason to get a PC, they'll charge you way too much. Get a laptop if you can't build a PC. Those specs your mentioned are pretty good, but they're way over the budget. I've used both AMD, and intel i3s. For games, I found the AMD MUCH better than the i3 of the same comparison. Both had integrated graphics so it was a part of the CPU. I'm currently using an i3 4th gen, which gives me better FPS. However, the clocking speed is a bit low (1.90 GHz)

shafts can aim directly towards the tank. if they can shoot simultaniously it's possible
-
One shaft can flip a wasp so much... imagine 10 shafts at once!
-
Hi! I was thinking of doing an event with the fellow members of the community. The point is that we will have one wasp (either M1 or M0 which should have to lowest weight possible) and as many shafts as we can. The shafts will aim at the wasp together and shoot at the same time. Preferably, we can have a wasp with a railgun on a small ramp, to support the flip. I can easily find an M1 or M0 wasp, but in case you want to take part in this event, apply below and I'll tend to it. I will also try to arrange for a spectator who can record the whole event for us. To take part as a shaft, fill in the following application The requirements to take part in this event are as following: Minimum rank of major Minimum shaft modification of M2 A pro pass A skype Nickname: Rank: Modification of shaft: Skype name: This event is just for the fun of the community. I could use the help of a couple more organisers if we can gather the amount of shafts. We will be taking in about 15 shafts. I think 10 should take part in the event, and we can have 5 as back-up in case the others are unable to come. I will create a skype group and we can organise the time and event specialties there. Thanks for reading tankers, hope you come :) PS: This is nothing official, a simple event I thought would be fun, hope you like the idea.

If your budget was a tad bit higher, you could get an amazing phone. The OnePlus One.

It's actually a 2.7 GHz Quad-core with 3 GB RAM k...
-
Don't get what you've posted. It's a celeron, celerons are outdated and they were typically made for smaller sized laptops when better processors weren't around. Go for an i3 or i5 for that price. 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB HDD, as you need some space for recording etc. intel HD 4000 GPUs or better should suffice for good FPS.

My PERFECTLY FINE delete button will not self destruct.

Most apt and accurate answer would be that of Willum's. My friend uses a mac... he has to use command or option key with delete in order for it to work, as far as my memory serves me, it was command, however it can be option key and he says above, good luck. -
Your graphic card is old and doesn't support this stuff. Try upgrading your graphic card drivers, google how to do that. It's easy. If your drivers are up to date, I'm sorry there's nothing you can do but get a better graphics card.

Happens with me a lot too. Apparently it's a bug that occurs on all browsers, for me, at least. Clearing cache doesn't really help you know, you have to refresh to fix it for the time being.
-
@OP you MUST upgrade your RAM.... it's pretty small to support pretty much any game
-
Is this good? I got the whole laptop for 410$ :$

I wish we could play with graphics like those. I wish.
