thank you, and do you know when the submissions are due? This is my first time entering a VOTW contest.
-
Does any official source know what length we should make our VOTW videos before submitting them? I need to know before I start editing.
-
Yes, now go win those 20k crystals!

I totally want to see someone post a video of them singing opera just for the fun of it. Who knows, maybe they'll love it and come up with a prize.

Review [Issue 52] Edge of Perception: Beauty in the Sky
donut70 replied to Night-Sisters in Newspaper Archive
Ok...WOW...I have almost always played with the skybox off, so that it doesn't distract me from fighting, (or from seeing that flanking sniper on the side wall). That will likely not change, but thank you for showing me this beauty. (P.S. I ALWAYS have fog off too because I want a crisp sniping view for my smoky to deflect shafts and rails with.) -
Interview [Issue 52] [Interview] Tanki Xperiences: The Community's take on Closed Beta
donut70 replied to TriNitroToIuene in Newspaper Archive
I'd really like more information about the Tanki X upgrade system. What I'm hearing right now makes me dubious. -
I had work this morning and could not enter the day 5 answer until later. Now, less than 24 hours after the GAME day 5 video was released, I know the answer, but the GAME site is saying it is already over and won't let me put in the last answer and collect my rewards. TANKI, please fix this. Servers have not even reset yet.

Man, I meet all the requirements (including a perfect no bans record) and would like to help.... but I just couldn't leave Radiation Domination leaderless.

I can personally attest that screencast-o-matic is a nearly perfect screen recorder, (with the only drawback being a 15 minute recording limit for the free version, but beggars can't be choosers.) Here's a few highlights of what it can do HD GRAPHICS AND SOUND (once uploaded) Don't be discouraged when the instant playback seems a bit grainy, once it's been uploaded to Youtube on it's "HD Youtube Upload" setting you will be able to watch your kills in all their 1080 glory, (once youtube loads the hd version at least) NON-INVASIVE WATERMARK (Though in my case the AVS video editor I use slaps it's own on.) EASY TO USE AND ADJUST NO NOTICABLE EFFECT ON FPS OR PING and most importantly FREE!!!

Well done sir, well done. (I will expand my response when I have time. My shift starts soon.)

Story [Issue 37] The Story Behind the Colors: Helper (Part 1 of 2)
donut70 replied to Kevred in Newspaper Archive
Um, Is there a part 2? Because I didn't read anything mentioning a helper paint? EDIT: Sorry, I checked back at the top and, sure enough, it has a 2nd part coming soon. Also, awesome start to your story. And yes, Two Steps from Hell is a bad with nearly unbroken awesome music. -
Campers, useless campers everywhere (who are about to be flanked and crushed.) {buzz lightyear meme} Granted, I'm mostly talking about those idiotic shafts who sit in scope mode with their beams pointed right on the flag, (and are almost always spotted and killed by the first capper who comes.) but my point still stands. The respawn makes more than 1 single defender, (the turtle) downright destructive to a team. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for preventing my enemies from getting the flag, but it's MUCH more effective to do that from a dynamic midfield position. WHO CARES if you die in the middle after destroying the first enemy in a 4 man convoy, because you will respawn back at your base to finish the rest of them off alongside your turtle. 2 lives for the price of 1. GET IT? "No"? Well, think of this, an enemy spawns and spends 20 seconds charging across the ground to reach your base. What do you during that time if you are a defender? Answer: NOTHING! You give your enemy a whole 20 seconds where they don't have to worry about being attacked. They get to make an attempt on your flag without recompense. So what if you stop them 19 times out of 20 attempts from sheer weight of numbers? They are still beating you because you are taking 0 flags out of 0 attempts. Now what happens if you are a dynamic Mid-fielder in the same situation? Answer: A WHOLE LOT MORE! As soon as that convoy pokes it's head out of it's base you can spot them and begin to damage them, maybe even killing one before they reach your position. Once they do reach your position you can heavily damage and slow down the convoy, nearly defeating most of them before they even get you killed, and then you get to respawn and kill them at your base in the time it takes them to get the rest of the way to your flag. (I will add a few more examples, but it's late right now so I will just post it's current form)

SDT- Sudden Death Tournament This wouldn't be a normal game mode, but I couldn't find "suggestions for new contests" It would be a Cybersport forum driven no clan required event like the tandem tournaments, and could be run once monthly (or per season if 12 a year is too hard). The parameters are as follows. Registration would be announced on the tanki home page. [shouldn't be too hard with the current design] 3 sets of ranks ,(mostly m1, mostly m2, and mostly m3 up to Generalissimo) would be allowed to sign up in their own separate "divisions". 100 people could sign up in each division before the registration topic would be closed and the names put in the tanki randomizer. [25 more players can be added to each following tournament provided the previous tournament had reached full registration, (and the organizers can handle it) ] [alternatively, you could base it off of powers of 4, but that might get huge fast] The players of each division will be split into groups of 4 by the tanki randomizer. Each group of 4 will be simultaneously put into the 4 corners of a large map with heavy cover in Sudden Death Mode. This would be like a DM free-for-all mode, but there would be no respawns. [i hope the devs don't find this hard] The last player alive will proceed to the next stage, where he will be again placed into a group of 4, [if you have an odd group of players they would fight 3 or 2 free for all, but 1 left over would just get a bye for that stage, (you could make sure that you rotated who was getting the byes)] You would proceed with this dividing of players until you reached the final group, where you could either keep it the same or put extra factors on the battle , (maybe giving everyone equal equipment or switching it to normal DM to prevent a "pure luck" winner) The WINNER would receive a special paint to keep until the next tournament, (gladiator would be a perfect name, but I think it's taken, maybe survivor instead) and a significant amount of crystals, (maybe 50k-100k). [all rewards can be adjusted as tanki sees fit] The next 16 places would receive 25k for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 20k for 5th, 6th, 7th,and 8th, 15k for 9th-12th, and 10k for 13th-16th You could either require/provide a certain equipment for the length of the tournament, (probably XP), or let players of each division bring their own equipment, but only letting them change in between battles. If I have forgotten anything please point it out, I will do my best to update this idea.

Post #791 is correct. It's the first answer that also tells us how to find the page with the link on it in the first place so that we can independently check it's validity.
-
I was 10 minutea late before I registered and put in the answer, and it looks likes I might be in the top 100, but nowhere near the top 10 XD.

SPOILER ALERT: Not to be read by the faint of heart.
