thanks tanki for the improvement, but I also want the ability to change guns or hulls without losing my score in the battle.

hey 1 hp matters when my hunter m1 has 151 health and shaft m1 can do a maximum of 150 damage per shot, I have killed so many shafts after surviving there first shot and getting in close.

no he was paid in crystals for his staff jobs.

I have seen a video of this and it is possible but the problem comes when you need to move your tank in one direction, your turret in another, the camera controls, and the health pack key all at once to survive with the flag.

in Medium formats for 6vs6 it says "all turrets are allowed,...... except for smoky, freeze, shaft, and isida" so almost half are not allowed at all, twins and thunder can only be used once, and rail can only be used twice, so then you have to decide whether to have one rico and one fire, or 2 firebirds or 2 ricos,(not a common strategy). in 4vs4 it is the same except shaft is allowed, thunder has no limit and rail has no limit. in light on 6vs6 it is only railguns and one smoky if you want, (not much room to plan any strategy is there). on 4vs4 it is the most selective yet with only railguns allowed and only hornets or wasps to be used. personally I love to plan a strategy using the best abilities of my clan members with their different guns, but I think with these formats the only strategy you can plan is to fight better then the other team and win. also another problem with this is if you were good at freeze, isida, or shaft, but not much else, then you become pretty useless when the tournaments come around.

smoky requires skills and brains to be good with it,(and in all modesty, i have those) but i prefer speed, agility, and the first shot, to the raw one shot power of rail, (and i'm worse than noob with rail) and while i may be small , skinny, and not much to look at, i can take down any enemy and they never underestimate me twice. my personality is most like smoky.

ok i will try to answer your question on what maps are best for smoky, since i only have smoky m1 it might be a bit different for m2. in serpuhov near the bridge on the blue side are 2 mounds of dirt that 1 or 2 good smokies can use to great effect by killing any who try to cross the bridge, charge the middle area, or drive along the ledge on the other side of the map. this is better for blue team in t dm but in ctf it is a strong defensive spot on both teams, with the added bonus of being near most of the crystal drops. now here are the disadvantages to this spot, #1 you need a team that is good enough to attack instead of cowering back in the base so that you are not flanked when you move forward #2 you can be trapped by 3 careful shafts set up on the other side of the bridge,(but this not often and be broken by teamates or drugging) #3 you need to remember to use your camera controls often to check for enemies getting ready to ambush you that said, when i control this spot i am almost always in the top place of my team and i can take out most potentional flaggers before they get to the base

this is totally fair, think about it, non-buyers( like me) get an amazing game for free, while buyers(like the ones i refer) get a slightly better gameplay for a small price. This is fair.

Let's discuss the new light and medium formats
donut70 replied to donut70 in Let's discuss the new light and medium formats Archive
I could not find a topic for discussing the new formats in the clans section so I made one here. I would like your opinions on whether or not you think the new clan tournament formats are to restrictive or if they will better streamline the battles. I would also like your suggestions on how the formats should be improved if you think they need to be. the new formats can be found at the bottom of this page http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=168680 . -
that moment when you wonder why the hornet jumped from the platform above you into your gun sights ...then the mine goes off!

hunter smoky all the way!

if railgun did NOT have a hit detection, then no other long range gun would even be used. That glow before the shot is the planned vulnerability of the railgun, for thunders it is there near uselessness at extreme range and there possibility of hurting themselves with each shot at close range, for shaft it is there non-mobility while sniping, and for the twins and ricochet it is the delay before there shot reaches the target,(allowing a fast hull to dodge it) and the maximum range of the 2, finally close range weapons weakness is obviously there short range. I like smoky partly because the only "weakness" you can really say it has is it's fast shots won't let you use cover as much, BUT after each shot it is not vulnerable like railgun, so it is not much of a weakness to be exploited.
-
please tell me what these "tricks" are, because when I am hit in the corner by a smoky my aim is always messed up. how can you keep it aligned in the split second after the smoky shot and before you fire?
-
for paint it can go up to 150% the original amount, but not higher then 50% protection. I don't know about the turrets and hulls yet though.

oh so you are the other doughnut one of my friends mentioned, hello :D

thank you so much tanki for listening to our feedback and removing the possibility of failure, this really helps me feel you are listening to us.

I should have just read the comments to know it was a professional article before taking the time to read something I wasn't interested in.

yeah this has 1. been done before and 2. isn't much more helpful then the item description 3. the formula for nitro is (1.2 * original speed)+ 3 meters per second. -
honestly this was good , but I really expect more tips then this. And for tip number 4, normally trying to "Fake Out" a shaft is a really effective way... to get my hunter m1 down to 1 hitpoint in 1 second.
-
yeah I felt that way to. He made a good ending, but not what I would have expected

can't wait to here more of this story.
