  3. For all non-Hindi readers interested in what my message above was about - here's what it says... Hello readers, Here at the Newspaper, we want to continue reaching out to as many parts of the community as we can. We think there's demand for articles in more languages, to recognise and celebrate the many cultural backgrounds our players come from. Therefore, we're proud to announce the establishment of an all-new Hindi Newspaper! Our aim is to set up and develop a Hindi Newspaper for our Indian readers to enjoy. Over time, we may consider expanding the reach of this Newspaper, possibly to include similar languages such as Urdu. For now, we hope we can rely on your support as we try our best to make this new project a success! And finally… do you think you can write engaging, high-quality Hindi articles for the community? Scroll down to find out how to apply! ~ @GoldRock, Newspaper Administrator.
  4. For all non-Arabic readers interested in what my message above was about - here's what it says... Hello readers, The Arabic Newspaper has always been a great way to provide content for the Arabic community, and that’s not going to change anytime soon! In response to numerous challenges, we’re taking the exciting step of ‘resetting’ the Arabic Newspaper and starting again from scratch. Our main goal is to create a ‘new and improved’ system with more frequent, better quality articles. We think it’s important to reach out to everyone, and we want you to enjoy a dedicated Arabic Newspaper that’s better than ever before. And finally… do you think you can write engaging, high-quality Arabic articles for the community? Scroll down to find out how to apply! ~ @GoldRock, Newspaper Administrator.
  5. Although, to add to the above, it's possible that a French applicant could be recruited and focus on writing French articles only while having a reasonable grasp of English. We actually have an example of the opposite - one of our Reporters (@Phoenix-Warbird) writes English articles only, but also has a good understanding of French!
  6. Try to avoid personal arguments, guys. Keep discussion about the article constructive!
  7. - Very minor edits (spacing between paragraphs, a couple of grammar errors corrected)

[Story] The Rabbit Tanker (Part 1)

    - Changed the font colour from bright yellow to a slightly nicer, more readable light yellow, - Split the three sections into proper paragraphs (it makes it much easier to follow), - Proofread and edited some grammar mistakes.

    Jeff The Killer (pt. 2)

    - Completely edited grammar and phrasing - in particular, you should probably work on dividing up your sentences using full stops! The story itself is quite good once everything is sorted out and corrected to make it more readable, well done ^_^
  10. I did it for readability and aesthetics - I could see what you were going for with the effect there, but the thing is, it made the article hard to read and looked a bit messy to have two different fonts. Simple can be better! ^_^
  11. - Minor changes to formatting (font use, spacing), - Grammar and proofreading fixes (check how to spell 'Isida' :P).

    [Issue 55] Crystal Giveaway

I hid your post since it was posted after I made that post of my own, where I mentioned we should stay on topic. With that in mind, let's get back on topic please!

Actually, the balance between stories and guide/review articles is tipped more towards stories than normal this time, we usually aim for one or two stories and a lot of guide/review material but we have a few more stories this time round. Due to the nature of the Issue system and the short term demand for articles, this is bound to be the case every so often. In the meantime, we take your feedback on board, hope we can continue to aim for a good balance of articles, and that you've enjoyed reading the material you prefer!

How much did you score in an IQ test?

^Exactly the same here, scored roughly 140 on the 160-scale test so I'm now a Mensa member... not that it actually means too much. I mean, it's great to score highly on IQ tests, but there are many other factors which really influence who you are as a person (e.g. your character, emotional intelligence). Anyway, it's less what you have and more how you use what you have that counts! (tl;dr: there's no need to lie about having a super-high IQ, as I suspect the OP and other posters here have done - there are more important things in life than one's real/pretended IQ)
  16. I used to play using Wasp/Smoky in Noise CTFs all the time at the late M2 ranks - while your D/L doesn't tend to be super high, it's quite possible to deal a lot of damage and capture flags if you use it right.
  17. I hereby counter that statement (and I seem to recall both of those pics were me having flipped intentionally, pls).

    [Issue 55] Crystal Giveaway

Note that the winning entry was randomly selected, by including a number for all posts in the topic and randomly generating the winner... the fact that it's on the first page is down to the luck of the winner, nothing more. 1) Those jokes didn't win anything as such, they're just included as some good ones we noticed when sorting through all the posts, 2) Night pointed out it was a non-exhaustive list of some good jokes from the topic - it's not like we formally judged all jokes and ranked them to make sure all the good ones were listed, those are just a few of the good ones listed for fun. Anyways, let's please stay on topic and avoid such trivial arguments. Thanks!
  19. The first definition of 'amateur' as engaging in writing on an unpaid basis is that one that applies here. Also, there's no need to make such comments just because your own applications to join the Reporter team have been rejected in the past.
  20. Just popping in to say a well-deserved congratulations to Nighty Whitey (she loves the name, make sure you guys use it) on getting to work with my wonderful self! :) On a more serious note, this is a pretty cool step for the Newspaper now that we actually have a mature admin Oh and good luck running the show while I throw you in the deep end by vanishing for the next 2-3 weeks as soon as you got promoted. yw, yw)) aaand my attempt at a serious congratulation post kinda failed

Top 3 Reasons Why I Quit Tanki

Considering that this topic doesn't actually meet the recommended word requirement of 400 words in its current state, and that we're inclined to agree with others here who've pointed out this isn't really a proper article... topic closed! Thanks for the feedback, guys. Sometimes, a topic appears to be borderline and we Approve it, but it would seem that upon re-assessing this one, it doesn't really qualify.

    Paint Separation Update

I personally agree with all of the points you made highlighted in green, and hopefully those things are considered and there are further tweaks in account of them. However, I don't personally agree with the first two points - I gave my thoughts on the first in my previous post: ...and as for the second, I would point out that M2 protection modules are a cheaper alternative which can be MUed if M3 protection modules can't yet be afforded. And surely the variety of combinations is a good thing? Some solid points there, though!

    Paint Separation Update

I agree that the vast majority of players won't buy those most expensive and flashy paints, but I don't see anything wrong with offering those at 'exclusive' prices for the few players who may want to splash out on making their tanks look even cooler. After all, you're not losing out at all in terms of gameplay by not having the paint. It's simply for show. And I hope (and think it's likely) that the issue with product kit prices being suddenly inflated is resolved, with the introduction of balanced kits possibly containing cheaper visual paints or just the useful protection modules. But that's a minor change needed, and isn't an inherent problem of the changes themselves - it's just a consequence of the changes that can be fixed. Overall, I like the idea and the implementation. I would argue it's good they've separated out visuals from functionality, it means players get more choice and control over their equipment. And the protection modules have the added bonus of standardising prots. on offer and being more effective than the old paints.

    Paint Separation Update

I hope the kits situation is sorted out, but it seems the high prices such as 500k are literally only for the visuals - which doesn't affect your gameplay and is your choice to buy or not. The protection modules, meanwhile, are very effective and offer much more choice at reasonable pricing. At least, that's what it seems to me at first glance.
