What does the first letter of your real forename begin with?
GoldRock replied to Xerothermic in Archive
How... how could you give it away?! *sobs quietly into handkerchief* -
If it was 8 seconds, you'd be a world record holder by a large margin. Looking forward to seeing your pic.

Well, I'd better enter, then ^_^

Nah, we all know it's hit here.

I thought so too when I was staff, but then I got banned for 'not acting as a proper staff member', even though I broke no forum rules. Anyway, you still have to act with more professionalism than most - you may be a normal player, but you are also a role model for the community. Should I follow the example you set, and block all my PM conversations without explanation just before I go to sleep, then? Yes, it does actually affect mod's reputations (e.g. the view of which mods players consider as more friendly towards them). I'm glad you're sorry to hear that. Well, you at least could have said 'Blocking your messages for now since I need to sleep, talk tomorrow' and then blocked me, so that when my message failed to send I wouldn't have to guess why you'd done so... In any case, it's not a case of answering as fast as you can; it's a case of courtesy. People usually say 'I have to go now, bye' to round off conversations, and so to not leave the other person guessing as to why they aren't responding. As a Consultant, surely you have just enough time for a polite goodbye? Look, I'm not going to criticise a mod for having to leave, that would be plain stupid... So your guess was wrong. I don't enjoy spending my free time picking faults in the mods, I simply wished to give some feedback. That's like someone saying they blocked someone, because they 'predicted' that person was going to insult them, or that someone reported someone else because they 'predicted' he was going to start hacking... Good, thanks :) So you don't really know why it's wrong, yet you avoid doing so anyway as part of your job? If it isn't wrong to block people as you say, why avoid doing so? Just block anyone you like without explanation, then - I'm sure players' thoughts of you will be unaffected, of course(!) We may disagree on a number of things, but you're not a liar. Thanks ^_^ Well then you're wrong, I never disliked you as a person and I never will. As I said, this is purely related to your job... So why bring personal relations into this? In short, I don't 'dislike' or 'hate' any mod, since they are simply doing their jobs; I'm just providing feedback.

Actually, that time is feasible for an excellent runner at his age.
-
Oh well that's just being pedantic. Fine then, sometimes I'm asked my age, and then the person asks how old she is after I said I have a twin sister. Loophole closed :P
-
Awkward moment when... Person: "What year are you in again?" Me: "Year 10." Person: "So, d'you have any brothers or sisters?" Me: "Yes, a twin sister." Person: "Well, what year is she in?" You'd be amazed at how many times this has happened to me >.<

'Grats ^_^ And congratulations to you too, sky

But you're not a normal forum member - you're a mod, and so have a reputation to uphold. You blocking someone without explanation is different to the average user doing so, since your actions are meant to be more professional, and they have wider-reaching effects. Also, you could have just said "Let's continue our discussion tomorrow, I need to sleep now" rather than just blocking me. I would have happily have said "Sure, good night :) " in response. I wasn't PMing you for an argument or to verbally attack you, which would have been fruitless, but to give you my thoughts and feedback. In short, it's slightly disappointing that you felt the need to block me in order to round off our discussion for today. But good night, I hope you sleep well, and I have respect for what you do as part of your job. I have no personal vendettas against any mods, since this discussion is purely related to your work, not personal. I do not care for sarcasm, and let's remain polite at all times. G'night :)

I asked a certain staff member politely about a topic he had locked - he answered, and then blocked me. Could I have an explanation? It's very difficult to give feedback to individual mods when they just block you; I wasn't insulting, all I said was that maybe he should consider a certain example where another mod kept a similar topic open... Anyway, as I said, I'd love to hear an explanation.

I've heard that he plays in servers corresponding to his rank i.e. when he's a Generalissimo (the 30th rank), he plays in Server 30. Is there any truth behind this rumour of specific servers?
-
The answer, undoubtedly, is yes
-
Your first name is Xerothermic? Pretty neat ;)
-
Ringeringederingedingring. It's a work of art.

I saw your conversation with her in the Server 2 chat... It was very, erm, entertaining...
-
Nah, the staff team for the 300 Astronauts battle was pro, considering I was on it :P JK, you have a point; the devs aren't actually as good as many of the top players, mainly because they develop, rather than play, the game.
-
Well, at least you think it's great. But it is the best :P

No, don't! I'm having too much fun laughing at their feeble attempts  -
OK, I admit it - the real happiest moment of my life was when the mods used their awesome banning powers to silence this really annoying flea I happen to know.

Saudi Arabia.

The happiest moment of my life was when I persuaded myself not to jump off a building.
