Well it's pretty awesome at lower ranks, but I hear it's absolutely useless at high ranks.

I study Graphic Design and Photography, and I work part time as a Web Designer. I love all three things, and would do them in my free time as well. All the time I have left I dedicate to my volunteer work here in Bosnia. Once in a while I play TO. And in the midst of all this I read the forums and try to be helpful :unsure:

Well since half the community has been raging about not wanting them, arguments ensued. I guess they are taking a closer look, spending more time on testing, tweaking the parameters and trying as hard as they can to make us ungrateful bunch as happy as we can get.

Even though it's technically random, I think it's very much affected by the amount of players and the amount of activity. If it was perfectly random, you could create a private battle, sit in it, and wait for gold to come. Won't happen. I think that it only appears to come more often in poplar maps, because on average people spend more time there. I play mostly in Iran, and it seems like the gold falls every 15 minutes or so. I've seen quite a few gold boxes in Combe.

Micro-upgrades are still coming, but the time of their arrival is unknown.

That observation is false. Gold falls equally everywhere, because its drop is random. The only reason it may seem that way is because Polygon and Silence are among the most popular maps.
