    Let's Discuss Dictator!

I might be misunderstanding your point... but I disagree. I use Railgun almost always when I play and here's a disadvantage Dictator, and any other long hull has: they cant bounce as much as other tanks. Railgun cant auto aim much up and down, so I bounce the tanks "shock absorbers" by changing direction quickly and timing it right with the gun. But some hulls cant bounce much, so you cant get the same reach up (or down, though that can be achieved by simply driving forward to the edge or whatever, and balance the tank slightly). Hunter seem to have the best bounce! Dictator probably have some of the worst. I think the shape problems with Dictator isnt a big deal at all, depending on what you will use it for mostly. Dictator M3 is the "best" tank (if you want a balanced tank), so if you want a combo as good as it gets of speed and HP and you don't play sneaky so much, then it's the best choice :) The shape is only a problem if the tank you really should have is a Hornet or Wasp, and you're a player who drive using covers alot. One last things though... it's better to be able to stay alive without taking damage, than using a tank (especially a heavy tank...) which makes you constantly trade losing HP for kills. A heavy tank is useless when it's low on health. A fast tank is still very useful even with so low health it can't survive a single weapon on the battlefield, becouse you can use agility to have a decent chance at avoiding taking hits.

    Let's Discuss Dictator!

Yes, makes it hard to take cover easily behind objects... and that is a big thing then playing Tanki. Using covers on the maps.

    Let's Discuss Twins!

Recently I got an idea of how to change twins into a more complex gun to use, if anyone is intrested. Imagine that it can get overheated (heard the devs are working on this) but that it shoots faster, more powerful and with stronger knock-back the longer it shoots, with maximum just moments before it overheats. The player can for example stay at the safe level to fire almost nonstop (like guarding a corner), or he can plan ahead and start to fire just before he reaches the enemys, to reach a higher power with the shots that will hit the enemy. If he knows it wont matter, he can also choose to fire until it overheats, which will be very powerful but the longer he shoots while in the "high heat" zone (after a moment it will simply stop automaticly), the longer he has to wait during cool down. Cool down can therefore take different times. I think this would make a simple gun complex and tactically intresting! What do you think? (btw, personally I'm not really a twins player)

    Let's Discuss Dictator!

I dont know what I think about Dictator. The hull can be a bit annoying becouse of its huge size and length, but at the same time the turret is close to the rear so hiding behind cover and shooting (like with railgun) can work well. It have the best stats at M3 if you want a hull as balanced as possible. Im thinking a bit of what hull I will use as my M3 hull (might only pick one), but it leans towards Hornet... but can someone tell me, isnt the game designed that basicly Hornet and Viking are the two "cheap" tanks? With cheap I mean easiest to get quickly upgraded, but ends up worse in the long run when it comes to M3 level.

    New overview about common weapons

Railgun does seem to be more common, Which is surprising becouse its a pretty special weapon and not so versatile compared to Smoky and Thunder. But its my favorite so I guess others finds it as much fun as I do! Does anyone thing the Tanki workers would ever release some list of the most used weapons (if they could keep track of such things)?

I suspected that but now when Smoky seems to be a well liked weapon I thought its popularity must have gone up alot.

    New overview about common weapons

It would be nice if we all could create a new overview about the most common weapons. This could be very valuable when youre deciding which paint you want! And also, Im curious myself which one of thunder, smoky and railgun is the most common. For me, all those 3 are the biggest threat. Can someone help out?

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

I got to say that Smoky is the weapon that brings me on the edge the most in battle out of all the other weapons! Other weapons I fear more than others are Twins and all the 3 close combat weapons. The close combat weapons are obviously very limited so I only fear them in certain situations of course... Twins is very powerful and has a strong knockback-effect aswell, but it's still a bit limited in range so it can be avoided sometimes. Smoky however.... shots travel instantly, very strong knockback, fast rate of fire, infite range. Using Railgun (which is the weapon I use 90% of the time) it can be incredibly hard to even get a single shot in on a skilled Smoky, even when I have a good opportunity... good cover, distance etc... So, its a very very good weapon! And if a Smoky-user is quick to aim for enemy tanks doing peekaboo-attacks, it becomes very hard to fight them one by one. But still I wont use it myself, I prefer Railgun. But I wanted to write this, coming from a Railgunner!!

    There's a map I'm looking for

Thanks, I will see if I find those and check them out.

    There's a map I'm looking for

I will try to describe what it looks like. I looked through the list twice but couldn't find it... obviously I've forgotten the name! The map is shaped in a rectangular shape, a higher flat ground with buildings in the middle, and two lower flat grounds on each side, which is where each teams base is. The special thing with the map is that its surrounded by a bridge, like a road around the map, being placed outside of the actual maps ground. By each spawn place theres two ramps to drive up to it. Anyone knows the name of this map? I worry Tanki made it unavaliable. It was a very fun map!

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

Railgun is by far my favorite weapon! And its been that way since I started playing. I love it becouse every shot can affect the match tactically alot. If I see attacking tanks I can be a big support to the teammates who must defend, becouse a single hit from me on every tank often means they got less then half their life left and my team can easily take them out. Also if enemys have isidas who constantly heal them, normal weapons are ineffective as the isida heals pretty much as fast as they damage it, so a railgun is really needed in such situations to help out the team. A railgun can really help out a teammate who battles with an enemy. Most tanks who have gotten a bit of damage can be destroyed by a single shot, so the teammates trouble is quickly over. So my point is, I always see railgun as a support weapon, becouse its hard to defend yourself when youre alone with it. But of course, its fun to be alone to when you play sneaky!

    Let's Discuss Hornet!

Hornet is my personal fav. hull. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas why hornet is so common? We cant see the statistic of hulls used but hornet must be the most common, on all ranks probably, by a very large amount. I love Railgun and Hornet fits it excellent. Wasp is too unstable, not when driving but when taking hits. I often attack in "peekaboo" style and Wasp simply cant handle hits well from the sides.

Smoky cannot be equal in power.

That's if the battle is basicly two tanks standing infront of each other and just keep fireing. A battle isn't like that. If you'd ask me what I think of Smoky as an user of Hornet/Railgun, I'd say without doubt it's the most annoying weapon to meet and it's the weapon I have the highest respect for. Of course the enemy Smoky can be a very unskilled player, but I still get a bit more cautios even then. Why? Becouse it can hit you at any distance, shot travels in no time, it fires fast and of course... it probably have the strongest hit-effect on the tank, making it very dangerous. It's definelty worse to be hit my one Thunder-shot than one Smoky-shot, as Thunder takes more damage per hit, but Thunder weakness alot over a distance and I often keep myself at a distance. Anyway, my point is, I think the game is very good as it is (seems like that to me anyway), except I think Shaft needs a buff (though I read it have faster charging time now).

    Dumbest special effect ever!

I might be wrong, but it seems to me like Shaft have both splash damage AND can shoot through enemys, like the Railgun.

Doesn't all guns have unlimited ammo? You dont make sense!

    post ur garage

I play with my usual classic Hornet and Railgun-combo. I have alot of fun with this combo and it got to be one of the best combos in the game! I really want to use a tank with even more agility and speed but Wasp is too unstable... well, my hornet will be M3 after a while anyway. Anyone else who loves this popular combo?
  17. I love the latest guide on Railgun. It was a very good, informative one.

Can you rate my Lego building?

I also love Lego Digital Designer! I love to build vechicles for the miniatyre lego men. When I got something impressive to show I might upload :)
  19. Hmm... I get your point. But also, the slower tanks can't quite manage to flee from the line of fire. They are meant to be able to be very aggressive, which also means that once they made their brutal attack they either have to defeat everyone who shoots at them or die. :P The fast tanks can escape quickly, seek cover and wait to heal. But maybe you're right. Only testing this and slowly modifying it would actually tell us the answers.
  20. Obviously it would be too much. Somehow it should be avoided with some idea... :P And obviously the x2 armor drug would have to be changed somehow. The health pack drug would still be very useful in tight situations though!

Explaining my idea of slow auto-healing

Hi! I've had many different ideas for Tanki, but this is my most favorite, so I'm posting this here becouse I want a real good discussion and opinions about this. Please don't write short things ("This sucks!", "This rules!"), keep it creative... I've grown to think that the classic way of all action games, a simple healthbar, is boring. In Tanki, there's 3 ways now to get health, and 2 of those are very unreliable and one is in my opinion so expensive it's only worth using in very special moments. As health is a very important thing in this game, except for the two most agile tanks who can probably get away with having low health by using agility instead, it's boring if you become very damaged very early after spawning. When you battle you often have to have alot of health on the bar, that's why you see players who spawns, get damaged, then danger's over but they suicide. It's boring and it's also frustrating if you want to achieve a shiny Kill/Loss-ratio ;) (which actually says something more about abilitys rather than luck!) I also have to mention the game "World Of Tanks", which is nothing like Tanki at all in my opinion, but after watching clips on Youtube with this game, I have to say I really love the fact it doesn't use a simple healthbar and then that's it. I also love that you actually have to think about how your tank is placed aswell! Obviously it wouldn't suit Tanki at all to have penetration-calculations, so here's my idea: All tanks slowly load up the health all the time. And here's also something that can give the different hulls more creativity and difference: the hulls recovers hits differently from different sides. This gives Tanki the ability to create new future hulls that doesn't end up just being a new look and some slightly changed characteristics. So maybe it could be like this... More agile hulls tend to recover slower from damage, making them recover so slow it's pretty much useless to use as a tactical advantage, meaning you can't play even half aggressive and expept the healing to help you... not even close. Exactly how fast the healing should go I can't tell, but hopefully I managed to describe it a bit! The tanks with more health tends to heal faster, but perhaps only so depending on which side the damage was recieved from! This can change alot from different hulls. Let's say Titan has fast enough healing from the front it would need several enemies shooting togheter on its front to beat the speed pf its auto-healing so it dies. But let's also say that its sides load pretty slowly, making it vulnerable. The Titan have OK agility, so it could use that to keep the front against the enemy. If so the Mammoth could have a front that loads so fast it's extremely resistable, with the sides also very good but the backside the weak spot. Let's say the front loads fast enough that a Railgun which fires, reloads, fire etc, will take either a very long time to kill it, or maybe impossible, due to the slowness of the damage and the healing of the tank. Slower tanks can make up for the vulnerability their slow speed gives them with their frontal (or also sides) resistance. Just like with a weak and agile tank, you'd have to be cautios but in a different way! With this we instantly get so much ability to have major differances between tanks, abilitys to invent new tanks with new characteristics, and battling, choice of tank and tactics will suddenly be so much more! Also, battling might turn more aggressive, as enemies who camps and rarely gets a shot in on each other simply have to be more aggressive, otherwise none will ever be killed perhaps. Offcourse, this coming thing with "micro-updates" would go nicely along with this, a choice of either reinforcing the front or evening out the resistance of all the tanks sides. But here's the two problems I can think of: Nr 1 is the obvious... will the game suddenly be "too" similar to World Of Tanks? Tanki is and still would be very different, becouse Tanki is a fast and high-paced game with a "cartoonish" feel to it, but maybe it would be seen as a rip off even if the health-systems of the games are pretty different still. The second isn't as important, but it's still a question. If there's alot of difference on some tanks with how the front and the sides recover from hits, a problem is that in Tanki tanks battle in pretty short distances. This means that if your tank isn't perfectly lined up with the front towards your shooting enemy, he can hit the sides. So should side hits which are recieved from an angle of almost from the front not count as side hits? This could simply be done by programming the tank's width of the front a bit more than what actually is, but invisible. Or maybe some tanks front can have a shape of the front with edges out on each side, just a bit, to deal with this problem? And then maybe the edges could be modified and increased and protect the sides a little bit more, maybe as some kind of bonus... That's all. Hope you thought it was intresting, and please come with some creative comments!
  22. There is one thing which feels so important to me, I kinda wish it will change as soon as possible. I REALLY want the camera to be static in the air, and not move down becouse of objects behind it... When we think about it, the camera and its angle is kinda the most important thing when playing a Tanki battle. I find myself always having to drive in weird ways when I have many objects around me, simply becouse I dont want the camera to move down!! This HAVE to change...

    The most annoying Gun

I voted Smoky becouse it's a very effective gun as it can reach any distance... shots travel at no time to their target, it shoots fast and the most annoying part of the gun fot the victim is the powerful knocking effect! You can barely drive away at times!

Someone here who knows some about World of Tanks?

Hello! (btw, Honored Tanki Staff, I'm not making commercials for this game and I don't intend to stop playing Tanki either, so don't close this thread down!) I got some questions about World of Tanks, so if someone here knows alot about this game, it would be helpful! Thanks for reading.
