Which hulls does everyone here think is the ultimate one to go with Rail if you want to have a versatile playing style?

Small symbols for easy communication?
Moreuz replied to Moreuz in Small symbols for easy communication? Archive
Hi! I thought of an idea today so people can communicate easy and fast during a battle despite that they don't know the same language. There could be a number of small images/symbols, with different useful meanings and you press a specific button for each one, like the numbers. Tanki could show an explanation for each one of them on one of those pictures you see when you load into a battle. There could be small drawings, easy to understand, and they show up in the battlechat. For example, commands could be "attack" (drawing showing 3 small tanks and an arrow), "defend", "follow me", "heal me/support me", "take cover/danger" and "move, you're in the way!" <----------------Very important.... All these simple commands could be easily showed through simple drawings using tanks and arrows and other simple things. You should be able to use TAB, then click on someone's name, and then this name shows up automaticly in the battlechat (so you won't have to spell it), and after it a specific picture can show up if you only want to communicate with a specific player. For the player adressed, he can see his personal message in a different color. I think this would make many people communicate during matches and therefore, playing will be more tactical and fun! ;) -

Well, they did tell us recently that the crysta-boxes will double (1 will be 10, 100 will be 1000) and that the battlefund will get higher.

Love it!! Very good idea. This should become reality!

Destroyed tanks dropping a small amount of HP?
Moreuz replied to Moreuz in Destroyed tanks dropping a small amount of HP? Archive
Would it be a good idea? It would surely make it more enjoyable to be a long lasting fighter battling close to enemys! In my opinion it would make earning large amounts of kills while really risking yourself being destroyed, more satisfying! The Isida earn health for damaging enemys. But what if actually everyone could do that, but only a very small amount of health each time. So if you see someone who have an amazing K/D ratio, who don't seem to use drugs and earns alot of kills, you can know that this player also take risks by driving out from the cover to pick up the HP enemys dropped. A well earned support. It would also make an attacking force able to last a little longer. Instead of for example 7 tanks attacking, taking the flag, and moments after the successfull attack all of them have dropped alot of health and despite their numbers, they've become a weak force and the newly spawned tanks can easily destroy them all, despite their achievement, just becouse they got more HP. This can become a circle and it just goes around and around. Instead, being able to get HP in another way, that is also earned by the players, might give the battles a feeling of being less stiff and a bit more surprising and organic! Honestly I've never somehow been too comfortable with the fact that when you lost HP, you have really lost the HP unless you drug or you're lucky enough an Isida heals you. Just my opinion anyway. Please come with well-thought out comments! -
Plenty of LOVE to Tanki-developers!! Awesome.

Lol okay. I don't know either.

Would traps be a good addition to the game?
Moreuz replied to Moreuz in Would traps be a good addition to the game? Archive
For example, stationary turrets, mines that shoots out like a freeze or a firebird etc... A stationary turret doesn't have to be all over powered, maybe it can only shoot in a direction you choose when you place it. There could be all sorts of traps which doesn't harm the tanks HP, but only cause it to slow down, or cause less damage for a time, maybe an "oil-mine trap" which make you unable to turn the tank for a little while. All of these should be hard to see, but if you do you can destroy it. -
Actually on a couple of times I've been confused in the heat of battle by a paint that looks a little like a destroyed tank. It's sometimes enough to make me look at another tank to shoot. As a result, the tank I thought for a second was destroyed got me! It would bring some effect to some situations definelty!

"Hood" looks really nice. Except I think there should be a second entry in the fences behind every house. Here's a scetchy not-perfected idea I've had for a long time. Basicly the idea is a map designed to create a very intense battle, as the enemys meet in a limited area the whole time. It basicly becomes two forces meeting head on, pushing hard against each other. Maybe it's not so easy to understand some things as I've only done it in paint! The orange bars are walls, the grey squares are big, high square shapes. Each base is at a lower floor-level, and two large ramps goes down to it at each end. This is to prevet the team players from easily becoming "spawn-raped" so to speak, if an enemy team is holding ground close to them. All the covers on the map is suppose to be placed out so there would not become a stalemate anywhere. Basicly, no place is a too good place to hide and shoot from. There's no hiding-point where you're pretty much covered from all angles. I imagine that this map would be great with pretty big teams, and the players would constantly alternate between defending and attacking. Becouse there's covers everywhere it's easy to defend unless many attack at once, so a team would have to fight togheter in coordinated attacks. Basicly stay alive close to the enemy front, wait until theres enough tanks, then attack, hope not too many died, hide behind the next line of cover... then do the same thing again until a team slowly advance closer. But... to provide an extra intensity to it all, there's a slim road on the side! From here players can help out an attacking team from the distance and flank the enemys. The lack of covers from the side makes them able to easily hit enemys. But there is no covers here at all, plus the road is designed to have some tricky places to drive on. If this road was just a straight line a player could drive in full speed to the opposite side too fast. There's only one such ramp, which means fighting can break out on this ramp aswell, as it's valuable to shoot from. The sniping-spots at each end becomes only avalible to drive to once an enemy team have already advanced pretty close to the enemys, and it's risky to drive up on the ramp leading to the sniping-spot too. But when people stand there and shoot they can give the attacking team-freinds the final push down to get the flag (or just kill alot of enemys on a death battle). Hope you like it. I would love if someone created a 3D version if it! Edit: you should click on the image as the text is too small.

I agree with you... I think the re-balance was a move which would upset some players a bit, but the thing that really set people off were the increased prices and the fact that they lost stuff they already bought. Tanki needs to lower the prices. As you wrote, it might scare players away! I don't think most people want to spend money on Tanki, but with lowered prices they might think "What the heck, its not so much money..." and still buy something. I've spent money on buying stuff myself, but I cant see myself buying more with the prices. I like Tanki alot but now it feels like every time my rank goes up my time of playing Tanki goes away! That is becouse I cant earn crystals and dont have the patience needed to even try, and I wont spend anymore money on Tanki with these prices anyway....

its anoying you have to kill loads of people just to get 3 crystals in a game i dont get it
Moreuz replied to r_shotgung0 in Archive
It would certainly be an intresting test of skill to try the game from the start, without buying. -
Which weapons and hulls are actually the most common? There was a thread a while back for this, I tried to make it stay alive but it went away in the end I think... :D I look at the paints and try to decide which ones would be the best for all-purpose playing basicly...

Railgun is my favorite weapon. Offcourse it requiers skill to use! In my opinion, even more than most other guns! But that can be debated offcourse and it depends on HOW you play with a gun. Do you sit hidden in the far distance and snipe with the railgun? Or are you close in the heat of the battle with it? Then you definelty need skill to survive. My best tip for becoming good with Railgun is to have pretty good mobility with the tank. Basicly, choose a target and fire a shot. Dont fire randomly unless you just want to help the team and damage enemys so they can finish them off. Before you shoot the fire shot, make sure you have a place to retreat into. The hard thing with Railgun is to survive the long re-load time (most tanks need 2 shots to die). You need some speed to get away and be on top of the enemy so you can trick him. Use the E and Q buttons to change the camera angle for the best view. For example, if you're being hunted by an enemy on the other side of a small house, angle the camera at maximum so you see everything from above. Now you can easily avoid him when you re-load and flank him perfectly with the second shot. With the Railgun you need to be careful unless you have alot of supoorting tanks around you. Always think about what you will do after you fired your shot. Thunder, and especially Twins dont have to think about this. They are always dangerous becouse of the short reload, but after you fired, the enemys will charge at you. So use the environment, but take risks which can pay off alot :) And dont be afraid to be close to the action. Just not attack to many at once and always make sure you can see them even when they may not see you, so you stay ahead of them and flank them! Also check out where your team is, as Railgun can sometimes need support. Also, KILLSTEAL (aka "Kill-securing"). You can one shot most tanks with some damage on them already. Thats why a Raingun is very effective when you have team-freinds near you. Hope this helped. The Railgun is NOT a "noobish" gun... no turret is, but if I would have to say one its definelty Twins. Rail is one of the most complex turrets, in terms of tactics, and you have to be very careful with it to be truly effective.

Wow, really cool video! Twins is a great turret now.

What is the most amount of kills you can get without dieing
Moreuz replied to canadarules in Archive
Ive also achieved alot of kills without dying, but sometimes the enemy team seems to just rush after you when you survive... -
I do think Shaft should get stronger! Not that I use it, but I think it should.

Dr. Urbi... Usually I'm not really a word-police but... you forgot the dot at the end of your sentence. NOOB!

Sorry about bumping this thread, but it's a really good and even important thread! Especially when you want to know which things to buy, like paints. Could someone update this thread, if someone feels they have some knowledge, especially in the higher ranks, about the most used hulls, turrets and paints? And let's discuss aswell, please. I think this thread is too important and intresting to just let be forgotten.

I've tried a bunch of hulls which I updated to M1, and as for turrets I would say Twins and Thunder is the most versatile, "best" weapons. But my favorite will always be Railgun. As for hulls, I'm still not sure which ones I will update. It's clear I should focus in a maximum of two hulls. I think I might go with Wasp and Mammoth, the two extremes hahaha!! I don't like being versatile. But maybe instead of Wasp I'll get Hunter or a more normal tank... but maybe I'd get bored. So my tips are, Twins and Thunder are versatile weapons. Get Hunter if youre thinking about getting Hornet. You don't need so much speed for most playing styles anyway plus Hornet does not make up for its lack of speed compared to Wasp with health. Hunter will get fast enough later on! Best short-range weapon is probably isida, becouse of the self-healing which can make you last long in a battle as it's common you will take some damage attacking so close to enemys. Freeze is also a good one, as the freezing effect can make you avoid being shot at when you're near an enemy. But with short ranged weapons, make sure you use a fast but still pretty strong tank. Like Hunter... maybe Hornet.

There's a very intresting thread somewhere where it states he most commonly used turrets and hulls, Thunder is by far the most used turret. So I think I will myself aim for Thunder protection. Lets face it, Thunder is versatile so no matter what kind of map youre on, chances are high there will be a couple of Thunder-users there. Plus.. Thunder is one of the hardest guns to avoid, as the shot travels in no time and doesn't have a delay before the shot like Rail either. So for me, Thunder protection it will be! Unless another paint just looks so damn cool I cant resist it.

But honestly, I don't even play with Rico, yet Shaft, but I feel these weapons does need a boost. Shaft should atleast be able to one-shot over half tanks in the game. And Rico does need more shots in a round perhaps, though I haven't tried it... But thats my opinion.
