I'd like to see a paint based on the Tiger II's "ambush pattern" camoflage. Btw, I really liked many of your paints!! Let's hope Tanki might use some of them in the future! merged two posts.

I think what he/she means is that the music industry is indeed an industry, which means ALOT of music is idealess, heartless and written in a calculated way by professionals (not that their songs are good though....) to create a hysteria and earn lots of money. They need some face to promote the stuff, pick up some young more or less talented person and off they go. And it might sell for a year or two. You need to tell the difference between music with heart and soul, and the commercial stuff. Btw I got nothing against pop artists, like Lady Gaga. She is entertainment, it's supposed to be big and culture affecting. But if I would tell anyone as shortly as possible, where to find real music with "heart"... Hmm, I'd probably say go and check out the 60's and 70's and work your way from there :P

Great drawing!! If you haven't already, you should totally check out "DeviantArt.com", where you upload your own art! Stay creative!

I'm 22 years old, I live in Sweden and I like Tanki!

My favorite band at the moment, is a prog-band from my country called "Moon Safari", and I highly recommend them! Check out their album "Blomljud" on YouTube or something, that's a good start. Their music is magical! I also like "Alcest", and I listen to alot of ther stuff aswell... like Opeth.

It's completely useless to make these topics, or "requests". It will not happen. So save your energy and write about something else. Tanki knows some people want the old Tanki back, but it will not happen. Hope I don't sound aggressive or anything though... In a way, I do understand

I still want paints to have nothing to do with special protection against weapons! The look of the tank should be all about your personal taste, not to symbolize your protection against weapons. It would make the game much more fun and make your tank more personal!! I think it's obvious that this is what Tanki need. It's extremely boring to choose a paint that doesn't look good only becouse you get good protection!! But maybe I'm just vain :P But you guys get my point I think. Is it that important that the enemys know which weapons you have protection against? If it is, couldn't it be shown in some other way?

If Tanki is going to re-design the tanks at some point, I hope they made sure all tanks have their turrets closer to the front so people prefers to drive them that way, as their design is obviously "meant" to be driven that way, the game looks better offcourse. But until then, I drive backwards mostly! And yeah, I use all the keys, including changing camera movement. But instead of Q and E, I wish those keys could be A and S maybe. It would be a bit easier, even if Im really used to it now though.

Im guilty of suiciding sometimes... Some might think its an 'ugly' thing to do, but well, it's a habit! Plus, sometimes it's a bit fun to be annoying. I never annoy teammates, but pushing enemys down from cliffs, suiciding, or trick them and stuff... all part of the game. Real humiliation kills :)

There have been many threads about this topic before, so you have to understand if some maybe are tired of the discussion maybe... But I don't mind. Actually I have a couple of ideas aswell! Many do, but most ideas are too wild I think. If we look at how different and how odd the currents weapons are, I don't think future weapons will get much more wilder that the ones we got now. But hey, if you want to discuss and share some ideas, send me a private message anytime.

So you're not intrested in further upgrading Hunter and get more speed? Hmm, thanks for the reply :) I guess I'll have to think about this some more.

Hello, fellow Tankmen!! In my opinion I'm a pretty good Tanki-player, BUT... Now I realise, I can't decide which hull to go for! So I'd appreciate some tips/opinions/insights. The turrets I have are, all M1's, Thunder, Shaft, Twins and Railgun. I got Thunder as I felt I needed one versatile weapon. Twins seemed strong, and also versatile, but it's pretty boring to use. I like to aim at tanks. I got Shaft after seeing "ShadowVisions"'s YouTube-clips featuring Shaft, it seemed like a really fun weapon but I realised it's been nerfed too much. And then trusy ol' Railgun, the only weapon I really have fun using and the one I've used the most... I almost only use it, even when unsuitable for the map. I'm simply a railgunner! The hulls I got, all M1's, is Dictator, Hunter, Hornet and Wasp. I've tried them all carefully, but still can't decide as I realise that with the current prices of crystals I should only choose one and focus on upgrading just that one. I want to upgrade and use two hulls, one chosen is the Wasp. LOVE the speed, and it's exciting to play with such weak armor in a way. But I need to have a versatile, really good hull too. Wasp is so specialized I'm sure I should only upgrade it with leftover-crystals. Though Wasp is really fun to use. I'm thinking about Hunter. I need speed when I play with Railgun. I play in a very mobile way, always moving, always watching enemy tanks. I need to be able to avoid taking hits during the long reload time of the Railgun. Dictator will probably have OK speed at M2, when I get there... plus good armor. Also a good placing of the turret, I always drive it backwards and when you're taking up a fire-position, very little of the hull sticks out. Hornet? Nah, too similar to Wasp. Anyone can share some thoughts? It would have to mostly fit my playing-style with Railgun. I will probably continue with almost only using it in the future aswell! :)

Will Tanki get better servers soon?
Moreuz replied to Moreuz in Will Tanki get better servers soon? Archive
I have noticed an increase in problems recently...and also that many are complaining. -
Intresting comments!! I make a note in my head that most people still prefer balanced hulls for Railgun. Yes, you don't really need Wasp's speed just to get away between the re-load time, but I still love alot of speed. Especially on big maps where I can quickly move to places the enemys don't expect me to be and shoot. It's basicly the tank-tactic developed by American tankers during WWII ;) : "Shoot n' Scoot" - think M18 Hellcat fighting axis heavy's. The only thing that could make this work more awesomly was if the Railgun didn't leave a trace from the shot, but I guess it would be OP then. The chassy I think is best for Railgun is probably Hunter... It's still very fast, atleast at M2.
-
Why dont you use it now? Just curious. Hmm...a strong tank could also be very good, I guess it depends on how you play. I want to be able to quickly move into ambush positions on big maps, and I want to be able to quickly retreat into cover if I face more than I can handle at once. So for me, a fast tank is the best. Plus its exciting to play with a fast tank, becouse I die easily and have to really look out.

I thought we who love the Railgun, could share tactics, opinions on hulls to use, and our love for this awesome weapon. Railgun is in my opinion the most powerful weapon, but its also the weapon where you have to think the most to use it effectively in combat (unless you're simply camping). Here's a video, which is basicly an excellent tutorial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5OJzfhnaT8 I play with Wasp alot now, and I think that with the Railgun you should try to be as fast as possible, and instead become good at avoiding taking hits rather than surviving many hits. When you use Railgun in the heat of the battle, it all comes down to one thing. Surviving during the long reload-time. It's alot of fun to use rail in close combat. I look aroundtp spot tanks, decide which ones might try to shoot at me, which direction they might drive etc... I always change the camera angle by pressing "Q" and "E" so I get the best observation possible. If I'm very close to enemys and hide behind something, I move up my camera angle to maximum height, so I see everything from almost above. This is very succesful, as I see exactly where they drive but they can't see me. Who else agrees that railgun is probably the most fun and challenging weapon? I think Thunder is probably the BEST weapon, as it's very versatile. Twins is probably second best. But Railgun is the most fun one and the gun you have to really think when you use. Edit: When I watch the video I realise how much better the old Railgun looked... would be nice if it could look like that again!

I tried Wasp and loved it!! I use almost only Railgun and I could battle effectivly and stay alive thanks to the agility and speed. But this isnt the only thing that makes Wasp so great. I pretty much always drive it backwards. Almost nothing of the tanks hull goes past the turret so when youre in a position to fire its a harder target to hit. Also the Wasp, thanks to its short hull, rocks a little bit more on the springs than any other tank, when you breaks. This makes me hit things a little bit outside of the Railguns very limit traverse a bit easier as I can time the shot with how I break. Wasp rules! If you want to play in the style of being agile and avoid hits, I strongly recommend Wasp over Hornet. Btw, Railgun doesnt have such a strong recoil anymore, so it works good with Wasp, in terms of balance.

Its a cool idea, but what I would like even more which would also really add to the game, is if each tank had a specific engine sound. Some are loud, like the fast ones, which makes it harder to surprise attack with them if you drive in full speed, which balance it a bit as they are very fast. The slower ones are silent, which compensates as they are slower but this benefit their ability to surprise enemys despite their slow speed. One thing though... the engine-sounds must be pleasant for the ears! No one will stand driving a Wasp or Hornet if they are very loud and also sound annoying in some way. Its like the soundeffect for turning the turret, which to my ears is annoying and shrill.

FREEZE should not exist or at least be different...please consider
Moreuz replied to MaximilliamtheGreat in Archive
In my own dreamversion of Tanki there would be no plasma weapons at all, nor freezers ;) All weapons would be all fire, guns and explosions and such. -
Thats very sad. Personally I love that the intrest for a world-spanning game also spreads between generations. But if theres alot of very young people, there might also be inmature behaviour and sadly alot of the children and young teens grown up in the "internet generations" arent afraid to be very very rude. Its so easy to be rude online, they get used to it and they maybe lack strong parental guidelines/inspirations.... its very sad. I can only imagine how Facebook can be for the ones who are bullied in 2013.

Oh, and more maps that are supposed to look like nature! With uneven terrain, forests, hills.... maybe even island-maps with an ocean surrounding, with beaches and palmtrees and thick jungles where you can't see anything! Real adventure-maps. Also, I wrote about it before, moving platforms would be cool if it could be done. Like in Super-Mario. Elevators and stuff that constantly just moves around.

KiwiZaphod (btw I love Zaphod!) Youre ideas are really good! But with so many weapons in the single game, I suspect some would be too specialized. Maybe a tank can carry an extra, but very limited weapon on the side of the normal one. Side-weapon could be limited in many reasons....like a very high reloading-time. I love the "electro-thrower" gun. If you've ever played "Star Wars - Battlefront", there's a gun there which functions would work really nicely for Tanki! Basicly it shoots a flash, but can be loaded up before firing to fire a flash which bounces between enemys near eachother (must be behind the first one who gets hit) and it can bounce maximum 5 times. About a quad... Maybe some kind of very small vechicle should also be in the game. Almost zero armor, but fast and a very small target. Hull is very low and doesn't exceed the turret in size. Maybe you should be able to place out fake bushes and hide behind? :) Like a kind of drug, except you can pick up the bush again. Maybe even small walls with health that can be placed out. Maybe only one tank can place bushes and walls, and obstacles too to (engineer-tank) and can give away free drugs but very limited. It would take team-work to a new level. Imagine this example of a battle: A group of tanks attacks, drives into an open area and gets shot at. An engineer-tank then places a wall and the tanks hide behind it. An isida tries to make sure the wall won't get destroyed as it gets fired on. The engineer-tank then gives drug-bonuses to nearby tanks, like double-power to defend themselves. The tanks destroys many enemys firing at them and then moves up, and a new wall gets placed closer to the enemy terrority, and they do the same tactic again. Suddenly they get flanked as some clever Rails and Thunders have moved to the side. Many tanks gets destroyed but the engineer-tank quickly pick up and change direction of the wall to protect them. Just a silly little example... Back to weapons. There's one weapon I imagine that I'd love to get feedback on. A gun which fires a rolling ball, which rolls on the ground at pretty high speed and can bounce against walls and change direction. When it fires away a ball it flies a bit before hitting the ground, so if you're close you can hit things on another level too. The ball is very high-explosive but doesn't explode by itself, the player have to set a timer for the detonation. This is done by double-clicking with the fire-button. The time between the two clicks decides the timer for the explosion. Maybe about 1 seconds pause between the clicks represent that the ball will roll about a 100 meters in the game before firing. The player must get a feel for it, and you'd have to really think when you use the weapon! The balls can be changed direction easily if they get shot at with some weapons, like Thunder/Rico/Twins... Or driven into with a fast tank. Enemys can if they act quickly, defend themselves by changing the direction of the ball, but that would not be too easy to do as the balls rolls fast. But basicly the balls can be knocked right back at the one who fired them! The explosion doesn't just destroy enemy tanks, it can also make the unstable ones tip over if they are outside the explosion. Tell me what you think, people... is it crap? lol Or maybe something worth thinking about?

Awesome new tank. A bit of a let down it can't defend itself though.

Will the Christmas special-map stay?
Moreuz replied to Moreuz in Will the Christmas special-map stay? Archive
I loved that map, one of the best I ever played on in Tanki. Really hope it will be permanent. -
I feel your pain!!! This exactly happens alot to me... I've also noticed Isida's who, by purpose, tries to make sure you get hit so they can heal you. And yes, most Tanki-players don't know how to drive. It seems like 90% of the players don't know how to turn the turret. Even if they are pretty good otherwise!! You can push them sideways into a wall and they won't shoot at you becouse they don't turn the turret. But I suppose most who plays this game are very young, so we can't get upset.
