Great medium hulls are Hunter and Dictator, if you care about the maneuverability. Hunter has more speed, and Dictator has more health. I have a dilemma between Dictator and Viking myself...

Well the thing is that Smoky requires you to stay out in the open, because you can't do the peek-a-boo thing with it, because of its fast fire rate. So, it's most effective with medium and heavy hulls. But, heavy bulls aren't my thing, 'cause I like runnin' around... So I've been thinking of getting 8 m2s: Fire, Freeze, Thunder, Smoky, Shaft, Hornet, Hunter, Viking. (Technically it's 6 because I've got Freeze and Hornet already, and MUed a few stages too!)

my first and only m2 turret is freeze, and I'm Lovin' It TM. I MUed it as well. I basically MUed the first 2 steps (or 3) for both, cuz I know I'll use them a lot. afterall, 5k isn't too bad. You?

it'll be like the traceur paint (or whatever its called) it MAY be a waste of crystals and will not be used at all.... hahaha same. MUing the weight will help too, but I'll save for my "shopping spree" for MUs when I get my m3's. I did MU my HP a little bit so that helps somewhat too. :D
