Today, on February 19, we've released Update 229 that includes numerous fixes and improvements of the game's client part. The main one is fixing memory leaks that resulted in the notorious critical error during frequent transitions between the lobby and battles. Alongside with that, we've fixed several other minor mistakes. If you still face the critical error after Update 229, say about it in this topic, it will help us to further improve the situation.

Completely agree with that. Answering some of the points raised in this thread: First, players normally get warnings for first violations. In case violations are serious, they get bans, but minor ones. Second, chat moderators (the people who actually give bans) have clear guidelines on what kind of ban they need to give depending on the type of violation, whether it is repeating or not, and based on a player's karma. Our task is to make these guidelines even more clear for mods and minimize the gray area in bans. With having a new chat administrator it will become easier. Another thing that is lacking: we need to learn to respect each other (players, staff, community managers, everyone). I often see players showing disrespect to staff, though staff are players like the rest of you who just help the community. Moreover, players show disrespect to each other all the time. Which is strange as this forum and this game is your common interest, the thing that unites you, but sometimes it feels completely the opposite. Once this goal is achieved, the community will become a better place for everyone.

A technical limitation. Due to the same reason forum moderators can't ban people, only chat mods can. Perhaps, with time we'll get around this issue and people's karma will be separate in the forum and in the chat. It will require a significant rethink of the whole architecture behind the game, but it may happen in future.

A long time ago, there was a feature in Tanki Online that allowed players to change weapons and hulls without leaving the battle. Calling it a feature is an overstatement though, as it was caused by a mistake in the code. The bug was fixed when we moved to the new server platform. Recently we've decided that the ability should be present in the game. This time, not as a bug but as a full-scale feature. The system will not just let players change weapons, hulls and paints; it will allow them to go to their garages, list of battles or Payment menu without loosing the score and place in a battle. Equipping other weapon or paint, buying some supplies — all of it will soon be possible. However, to prevent tankers from using the feature all the time and spoiling the game experience to others, it was decided that each type of equipment can only be changed once every 15 minutes. Implementing this feature requires changes in the game’s battle system. After that, our guys will need to slightly rework the interface and test it all. A detailed review of all functions of the system will be out with the update itself. Stay tuned!
