Let's be frank here: been playing XP/BP for quite the time now, and it has never changed 90% of the time if there is an Mk6 on the map (rail or hornet), they're asked to leave (and if they don't, the rest of the team switches maps just like that) for obvious reasons (the advantage that mk7 has over mk6 is just too much in XP/BP) the other 10% is either because it's their friends or some nice casual players. Might be a little harsh, but: Could be for the best

So all that time to lock-in is a big issue but having a shaft with light capacitors alteration that can literally one shot you with booster while taking less time than the Gauss to lock-on is not a problem? Let's not mention Shaft with Heavy capacitors that can just use that trick (to hide your lazer) and literally can one shot a juggernaut Or the fact that you're dead even tho you saw the Railgun's shot trail due to him using overdrive In every game, there is that one weapon/turret that is made for snipers/stealth-lovers; it is up to you to learn how to counter it Going in without even looking at your surroundings is definitely not Gauss' fault, nor Shaft's fault, nor any Turret's fault
-
Tracing Gauss isn't really an issue, you can guess from where you got shot the same way you do when you get hit by a Thunder or Smoky, especially if the Gauss uses the sniping shot, unless you want to tell me you could never guess from where you're getting hit by Thunder ? The only real issue is not Gauss itself, it's the combination of Hornet with Gauss (and mostly Booster) It literally melts down the enemy in certain situations (or modes such as Siege) The literal "One shot, one kill"

Personally, the meta now is Vulcan Hornet with the Reinforced aiming transmission alteration and possibly Booster/Defender drone followed by Firebird Hornet with the Incendiary mix alteration with the same drones.

Let's discuss the current meta !
aqwzsxedc replied to aqwzsxedc in Let's discuss the current meta ! Game Mechanics
I'm sure you have heard or encountered the word "meta" used mostly in gaming, some of you know what it means and some may not. So what is the meaning of "Meta" anyways? The word "Meta" stands for "Most Effect Tactic Available". It is mostly used to describe a combo or items (or anything game-affecting) that outperforms the rest of the combos, items etc... The meta always changes and that has to do with many factors (one of them is the balance changes the changes you see in patch notes. Another factor is the community's creativity "if the community is quite creative and curious, more combos will be discovered even weird ones sometimes and still make them work" etc...) Now that everyone understands the word, let us discuss the current meta! -
If you like using it with Wasp's Overdrove on juggernaut, yes

One is good, two is better, but three is even better

The thing that I don't quite get is that: Does it mean that Freeze will no longer be a turret but just a new type of mines? Or like Magnum's alteration that deploys mines?
-
Seems to me it's a suggestion for a new alteration more than "why freeze shouldn't exist". Personally, I'd hate it if they add "Ice Traps"; I don't even appreciate a Hunter overdriving me when I'm using my Viking's Overdrive, let alone traps that would almost immobile me for several seconds which, by the way, given their name (traps), would be invisible and who knows how many would there be ...
-
You sure it's not related to the spawn protection?

Honestly, I do like the idea of "driverless cars" and having them would probably make our life easier... But, this would definitely mean that, just like in the industry, "bots" will definitely replace humans when it comes to driving (you know... "driverless"), so what would happen to the current drivers who make a living from that? The thing is, maybe for developed countries it ain't a big deal, but for the rest it definitely is. Not to mention the "loss of enjoyment of driving" etc.. It will also be a hard challenge due to the requirement of the autonom cars; to build new roads in order to seperate this kind of cars from the others

Finally, vulcan gets reworked. Great news for Vulcan lovers!!
-
New mode in which there are Roles: Attacker / Support / Tank etc... Once you join the map, you'll have to click on a role and the combo (e.g Support : Isida Wasp) and the battle begins. As for the paint used, it's the player's choice

on HTML i believe; I'm speaking about the TO client

valid Rank up exactly when you need to with a button
aqwzsxedc replied to BFM in Ideas and Suggestions
I actually love this idea; maybe a button appears after you reach the exp for next rank. The only thing about it is that once that button is on, you can't earn any more exp (of course) and more importantly is that you can't earn more crystals no matter what battle you play or anything (the exact number of crystals is locked till you press that button basically) (to prevent a recruit from getting m3 or so ) -
Concisely, my idea is to put a sort of search bar behind the Matchmaking button or Create (for maps) in which everyone can type the name of the map they're looking for and the battle list will show only that map. It should allow a lot of players (specifically the XP/BP lovers) to pick certain maps they like/enjoy (Sandbox, Zone etc etc...) much easily instead of scrolling up & down reading every single map's name then checking if it's XP/BP or not...
-
Honestly, although it remains legacy, I don't miss it at all ?
-
I'm not taking any chances if I was that shaft; also seeing BIG numbers is quite satisfying ;x
-
Shaft with Heavy capacitors and Hornet's Overdrive with Double Damage and Booster Drone I guess.
-
Ah I see, thanks for the tips! I'll give it a try ?
-
My experience with that combo (wasp/vulcan): can't say was the best ? Even tho I tried to play it on Massacre due to the advantage it gives to vulcan as an open map and the distance advantage as well that you can gain against close-range turrets, yet wasn't enough... Or maybe I just suck on this combo
-
You can always join the next ones ^^
-
That is the main reason why the current vulcan players can do pretty well; if there were protections in their map, they wouldn't... Definitely not the same applies for some other turrets. Even if you do have protection, you still get killed relatively faster than what it should be. To be frank, that's the real deal; You're constantly focused on a single target for a not reasonable amount of time just to kill that target... sometimes even fail that and end up dying before doing so. Since I think a feeling Vulcan's DPS would probably not get buffed anytime soon (hopefully I'm wrong), the best alternative solution-ish is to give it a little slow on-hit effect, at least you can stick to a target and be more confident you'll kill it
-
It's been a while but, imo, it is kinda not ok how Vulcan is doing and in what position it occupies in the current meta ( of Magnums and Gauss ). If buffing the DPS isn't an option; then my idea is to give it somewhat of an on-hit slow effect (slight tho) to keep your target at bay when you're firing... It's kinda weird sometimes because you just have to hold up your spacebar and you won't start firing till you are... you know, dead ? Main reason why Vulcan is mostly used only with Titan (Minority with Viking) even tho you don't even see much vulcans compared to the other turrets.
