Ideas that will never happen in Tanki
SicTransitGloria replied to Fatal-Attraction in Game Discussion
We need artillery. I want to be one-shotted by tanks that I have no hope of hitting. -
Don't they all? Whenever I make an equilateral triangle, the eye appears in the middle of it.

Gravity! A sphere is made because gravity wants to make everything as close as possible. Think of a triangular pyramid: The tips aren't very close to the rest of it. Because all points on the surface of a sphere are the same distance from the center, a sphere is stable. You might now be thinking, "Then why do we have mountains?" Because gravity on Earth isn't big enough to pull them down, so even though we have a spherical planet, it's not perfect.

Other [Issue 34] 13 Surprising Facts: Real Tanks
SicTransitGloria replied to S.C.Y.T.H.E in Newspaper Archive
*LE GASP* "We didn't penetrate their armor!" Face it, you read it in the dude's voice. I know this because I play World of Tanks. There's also angling of the tank, hulled-down positions and side-scraping. Also, modern tanks can have Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) which explodes when hit and prevents damage (albeit only once before needing to be replaced). There's a few exceptions, most notably High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) and High Explosive Squash Head (HESH). Destroying a tank's tracks and rendering it immobile is a particularly easy way to deal with a tank. While it can still shoot and bounce shots, it can now be easily flanked or even ignored. If you play WoT like me, you'll also be familiar with the Radio Operator. We don't have them so much anymore, but they were particularly important in Hitler's invasion of France. Rats love small dank spaces. It's no wonder they'd inhabit a tank. Sorry, you can't pick a tank up at a local garage sale. When you consider all the tank games out there (Tanki, WoT, War Thunder, etc.) yeah, virtual tanks easily outnumber the real ones. I wouldn't call da Vinci's design a real tank, as it would have none of the endurance or cross-country mobility of a tank. Also, no turret. The Duplex Drive (DD) tank is not the same tank as the Vicker-Carden-Lloyd. The DD tank was a modified Sherman with a waterproofed underbelly, cloth skirt for a hull, and two propellers to drive through the water. It had...mixed results on D-Day. The Ripsaw light tank can actually hit 95 mph and has a 0-60 time of 3 seconds. Fun fact: it doesn't carry any people. Please keep in mind that "tonne" =/= "ton". In pounds, 60 tonnes is closer to 132,000 lbs. -
Not true! There are many large maps in the game, perfect for Shaft. Madness and Berlin come to mind. The problem is that hardly anyone wants to play those maps, even though they're really awesome. Nice article. It's cute that you wrote a whole article on probably the least exciting piece of Tanki. Seriously, the EULA entertains me more than walls.

How do you think it can be improved? Personalization. I know people have said this and rejected this before, but avatars, signatures, title, etc. I've never seen another forum without them. And don't say we don't have enough mods to regulate that! There's plenty of mods, which brings me to point two... The mods are scary. Goodness, most second pages of the forums are half filled with locked threads. That's insane! What you like about it? I enjoy the voting system. Also, the people. Another thing: When devs come on and talk to us directly. I wish more devs did that. What sections you like most? This one and Off-Topic. When and why did you start to post here? I don't remember. How did it affect your life online? Not much. Did you learn anything new? I lost all hope for the future of Tanki, but other than that, no. And any other thoughts you have... I'm surprised there are no TvMs in the forum game section.

Name the scariest Movie/Programme you've watched

Game Theory's first Five Nights at Freddy's video. I had nightmares for a month. -
Oh goodness. Microupgrades. I never thought that the devs would do anything like this, but I suppose they're really trying to make this into a pay2win game. Basically, if you have the crystals (and the only way to have that many crystals is by having the cash), you can totally unlock the next modification for your turret. You could run around with a Rail that's at modification "level 1.999..." at Warrant Officer 3. That's insane! And Tanki just confirms this thinking by handing you the next modification for free because, well, it's really a whole level up in everything but name and looks! I wish the Unity Tanki montage was a bit more informative. However, I did manage to figure out that instead of being awesome and making cool new maps, they've recreated one of the less popular maps: Boombox (at least, I think that's the title). Bummer. At least the test box was cute as all get out. By the way, I'm betting that a version of this will be the new drug. It just won't make you turn into a sheep, or eat the flag.

I don't get it. There aren't any instructions, helpful tips or explanatory things. Remember, you gotta make it *****-proof, or some ***** is gonna mess it up for ya! (I'm not cussing here, it's just Tanki overreacting.)
-
"Does the /vote command still work?" Did it ever? In a year and a half of Tanki, I've never actually seen a mod come to a battle before.
-
Pure, unadulterated fun. None of this "smart cooldowns, predictable drops, PRO Battles, night mode," stuff. I just want fun, Tanki. You don't need to add anything for that. Just let me have my fun...

You know what? The Kick 2 system looks great. Hey, it's even got charts and graphs and fancy graphics on its thread. But they're never going to implement it. Why? Because it's their game, and they'll never admit that someone else could make it better than they could. The devs have even told the creators of that idea, "Yeah, we're probably not going to implement it. If we do, we're not doing it any time soon." (Paraphrase.)

Since the beginning of the year, I have become more and more disgusted and shocked at the Tanki V-Log. But this...this is failure at its finest. First of all, let's discuss Semyon. He tries, so hard. But he only manages to come off as exaggerated and childish. A lot of Tanki's hardcore players are teenagers, stop talking to us like we're ten! Also, if you're trying to keep it kid-friendly, why did you cuss? "Hell of a time." Seriously? Second, Esports. I admire that you're trying to make Tanki Online a competitive gaming scene. But if I wanted to hear about Esports, I would actually watch the livestreams and read the threads. And really, if Esports is so big, why not give it its own mini V-Log. Third, please cut out the lame jokes. No, a "Friday without a V-Log" will NOT make the Earth turn the opposite direction. Not that I really think of it, that's actually a really egotistical thing to say. I somewhat enjoyed the "Princess Bride" reference, but with Semyon's aforementioned lackluster performance, it came off as cheesy. Okay, let's talk about the actual news inside. Esports: don't care. See above. Balance "Review": The person summarized the review, and then...that's it. I was hoping he would tell us how to take advantage of or deal with the changes in balance, but the most he talked about on this point was the many instances of "You won't notice the difference." Seriously? If I won't notice the difference, then why did you "balance" it in the first place? Holiday Celebration: HOLY CATS! What's wrong with the sales we normally get? Double battlefund is great, sales on all equipment is great, but you've taken this to an extreme. Look, other games and businesses all agree that the best place to put sales is on Christmas, but you've blown the Christmas celebration out of the water with this obscure holiday. Four days of double battlefund is more than plenty, and goldboxes....goodness. Double goldboxes are great! x5 Goldboxes are extreme! x9 goldboxes are a joke! You don't have to make every sale and event bigger and better than the last. Otherwise, sales and events become insanely out of proportion, like this one! Well, at the end of it, I can only say this: There's only one thing I like about the V-Log, and that's the cute "Test Box" animation at the end.

Actually, I've quit playing entirely. The Tanki forum is my only connection. I only hope that someday Tanki will make a turnaround, a shift for something better, but that hope is fading with the weeks. Perhaps I'll abandon even the forum soon...

They only make one color scheme of that dress: blue and black. After "the incident", the company now makes white and gold versions as well, but at the time, there was only blue and black.

Is the Olympics a huge waste of money? Well, it sure seems like it from the outside. It's a lot of money that's going nowhere. But closer examination reveals otherwise. As you've stated before, you don't trust the news. Okay, here's a Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cost_of_the_Olympic_Games (You specifically stated you trusted Wikipedia.) Oh look, the London 2012 Olympics were profitable by over 52 million pounds. That's 52,000,000 pounds. Quite a lot of money. (The source on the page about the London Olympics happens to be the final report from "LOCOG", the London Organizing Committee of Olympic and Paralympic Games. It doesn't get more trustworthy than that.) Also, there is another thing that the Olympic games bring: prestige. I don't even remember hearing about Azerbaijan in geography class before this thread. Soon, practically everyone in the first world will know about it. That is a source of pride that few other things can supply. I'm not sure what constitution you're reading, but that certainly isn't the case in most. It certainly isn't in the U.S. Constitution. Take a look for yourself. Of course, it depends on what you mean by "take care of". Must the U.S. guarantee rights to everyone? Yes. What about a place to live? Not so much. Looking through the Azerbaijan constitution (all 54 pages of it), I could find no mention of the government having to supply free places to live for the poor. They do state that they shall give out loans to build houses, but that's a far cry from the charity you're asking for.

It's blue and black. Don't believe me? Look at the Amazon page: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roman-Womens-Detail-Bodycon-Dress/dp/B00SJEUCWU/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t OH LOOK. IT'S BLUE AND BLACK. Also, read the reviews; they're hilarious.

In my opinion, no, Tanki isn't as good as it was when I started. When did I start? October 2013. I remember because my first gold box was a Halloween one. Ah, the memories. Drugs are one reason. When I first joined, there were three reasons for using them: 1. You picked them up randomly off the ground. 2. You were capturing a flag. 3. You were catching a gold box. These three circumstances were fine. But now with smart cooldowns and predictable drops, drugs are "cheaper" to use; you can't find a battle without them. Server distribution and layout is another. It was fine the way it was in the beginning; Russian, German and English players were fine with mixing. Separating by language? Meh. But distributing by rank? No. Because people will make their ranks the highest when creating a battle, they sometimes have trouble getting lower ranks to come because they're all on a different server. Then we have auto-server select. Ugh. Really? The Devs think we're that dumb? One more reason: The mods. They scare me. They run amok on this forum with complete impunity. Click on the second page of any subforum, and you're likely to see that nearly half of the threads have been locked down for some reason or another. They're restricting and intimidating. However, I have yet to see a mod in a single game of Tanki. Alright, I lied. There is one more reason. Ever since I joined, I've had this increasing feeling that the devs don't listen to us. You might point out "The Experiment" and the changes to the updated battle list, yeah, but that was only with extreme pressure. It took practically the whole forum to get the devs to do anything about it. And when I see ideas like the new kick system be passed over and ignored again and again, I lose hope. When I see that my tech issues sent to the support team utterly forgotten, I lose faith. When I see them move further and further towards making Tanki more of a money maker, I gave up. Maybe the Unity version will be better. Maybe when given the chance to rebuild everything from the ground up, Alternativa will take the opportunity and run with it. Or, more likely, it'll be just like this one. I suppose there is only one thing to say: "Sic transit gloria." "Thus ends the glory."

Leaving Tanki? Get your money back!
SicTransitGloria replied to SicTransitGloria in Leaving Tanki? Get your money back! Archive
This ain't a joke, folks. It ain't a scam, either. For a limited time only, you can quite Tanki Online and get back money you've spent on it! It all has to do with the new End User License Agreement (EULA). In case you haven't logged in for a while, I'll tell you what's up: When a person logs in, a box pops up asking you to read and agree to a new EULA. Now, I'm sure that many of you didn't read it, but I did, and what I found was interesting. In section 5, Tanki Online said that it can (and will) change the EULA when it wants to. However, if someone does not agree to this new contract, Tanki is guaranteeing to "reimburse payments". This is huge. If you've spent loads of money on this game, but are really angry at how it has evolved, you can object to the new EULA, have your account taken from you, and your money returned. I'm not going to guarantee it will be easy and painless, but the option is there. HOWEVER, the EULA also states that all complaints about the new EULA must be done within 10 days. Afterwards, sorry, you're out of luck. All this is found from here: http://tankionline.com/en/eula/ (If I spent money on this game, I would do this.) -
[Forum Game] Guess how much crystals the user below has

Too small. You have [80,000] crystals. -

Vulvan: a mediocre support gun. It doesn't kill things particularly fast. It doesn't have an uber-long range. It's traverse speed is awful. Therefore, it fits quite well into "medium range" guns, as you need time to spot an enemy, charge the gun, and actually deal damage. If you suddenly find yourself face-to-face with an enemy, forget it. Unless you have a heavy hull with drugs, you won't survive long enough to charge up and kill them. Dodging doesn't help, either, as the traverse speed is sickening when firing. So what's great about this gun? Well...it has good gun depression. That's about it.

What's with all of the drugging, and very unbalanced teams?
SicTransitGloria replied to BenelliSuper90 in Archive
"Let's make reasonable changes that wouldn't benefit us, but the players!" said no developer ever. For some reason, I don't think they're going to nerf drugs or make PRO passes cheaper. -
Because I don't have good enough Internet for WoT at home. AND because it's really fast paced gameplay.
