I rather leave the paints question to your rank-companions. You have the rank for Viking M3, not the crystals? If you do have them I would still get the Viking M3 this monday, no matter what paint-issue you may have: a 70% discount is pretty rare! :)
-
Twins M3.
-
Too late..sorry... ;) Digital is a good paint, don 't worry. In my view certainly the best of the three you mentioned.
-
Ofcourse Viking M2 this monday at the one-hour 70% sale, just watch the clock! The best weapon on the Viking IMO and also in general opinion: Thunder M3 Hornet M3 will be great at your next rank. The Hornet M3 will form a perfect couple with the Freeze M2.... even more so with the Freeze M3. ;) Besides the Hornet M3 is also a good fast platform for the Thunder M3.

Don 't get Sandstone, a micro-upgraded Corrosion does almost the same for a lot less crystals. Excellent cheap paint Corrosion! Spark: never been a fan of this paint. The Firebird and Twins protection are pretty meager IMO. Ofcourse it has excellent Rico protection, but this comes at a high price. A micro-upgraded Desert (up to 42%) can almost do the same job for less: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=226544&page=626&do=findComment&comment=4013398 Digital is a decent paint, but again a micro-upgraded Tundra does almost the same job for less... I am still using a fully micro-upgraded Tundra mysel on my alt account which is a Major, and it still does a marvellous job! If I meet many Thunders I simply equip my micro-upgraded Cedar and both cheap paint-solutions work like a charm! Next paint for me will be Savanna: I simply skip those in-between paints who offer IMO to little for the crystals they cost.
-
Thunder may cause self-damage, but it 's very capable at supporting attacks, certainly when used with a faster hull like Hornet. Maybe you could buy Cedar today? That would fix most of the Thunder self-damage problem. When the flag is mostly unattented and with speed Hornet-Thunder can be a decent flagcaper... If you truly are a flagcaper: than go for Wasp for sure and equip it with Freeze or Isida. The Viking is dirt-cheap this monday and is also good at supporting attacks, a great mid-fielder! Fortunately not a flagcaper anymore since Smart Cooldown supplies were introduced. If you want my two cents, get it now for those few crystals! :)

Good choice, don 't overload your garage! About the turrets. I would advice you to stick with Thunder M1! I would dare to say OP at your ranks. Smoky M1: had it 's best days at your rank and you have to wait till Colonel for the M2... Twins M1: it hasn 't got the lifespan of the Thunder M1 AFAIK, besides this I don 't know nothing about it, don 't like the weapon, so I hope somebody else can give a better opinion about Twins? Rico M1: definitely skip it because you already have the Thunder M1, but if you like it, than go for the Rico M2 at First LT for sure. Strong weapon!
-
About leaving: made up your mind already?
-
Get the Viking M3 for sure, it 's great with your Smoky M3 and especially with your Thunder M3. (Rico and Twins also ok, but M2...) Lucky you! :)

Viking at a 70%! discount on monday for just one hour: have a look at the V-Log at 3:50 : http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=227413&do=findComment&comment=4017311

Nowhere...obviously aliens at work...

5th!...out of six....hmmm, only thing left to say is that I do appreciate your honesty TO! Just another proof that tanks and water don 't mingle.... :P Great video Splitterpoint! Awesome to watch those (edited) effects in slomo! Curious about the fixed crystal drops and how much the highest amount of those new crystal-boxes will go...

I know, but I write this from my point of view and that is from an alt. account (major Smok-Ti-Thun: Thunder-Viking/Hornet) that will become Brigadier in due time. You are a Major-General yourself: you own Needle through the light M3 kit, so obviously you don 't need Savanna that much. Though Railers are everywhere as you may experience yourself and that 's why I normally use Tundra on Smok-Ti-Thun: even though it is a "Thunder and self-damage account". Besides, I couldn 't even buy Needle if I wanted too. Also this alt. account stays regular without kits. I could easily afford the Medium M2 kit now (which is ridiculously OP: especially the paints), but I want to keep this alt. account "clean". This Lord account is already pretty "dirty" with a Medium M2 kit... The Savanna will be bought at a 50% sale so it will cost just 64.500. Next I will only MU the first steps of Savanna and than along the way with every decent MU discount I will upgrade it a bit more step by step. So I won 't pay full price. On this Lord account the Prodigi gets also micro-upgraded at every 50% discount. Even than it becomes ridiculously expensive though, so I won 't totally complete it. The same goes for the Savanna.

No, it doesn 't. I marked "only" in green in my post. You have Tankers who go from Smoky M0 straight to Shaft M0 and stick with it. Everyones his/hers own choice ofcourse: I just made some sort of warning that if you follow that path you are in for a very hard time, when one day you decide to use another weapon than Shaft. This is true for all the other at "one-weapon specialising Tankers" as well, but in my view not as worse and not a "trap" as solely focussing on Shaft can become. Also you will become a much better Shaft player IMO if you also know to handle some other weapons. If you do so: ofcourse you are not a noob in handling other weapons! Camping and scoping is a part of Tanki Online, but it simply has few connections with the use of the other 8 weapons.

Savanna 's standard 20% isn 't that much indeed, a fully micro-upgraded 36% however... http://en.tankiwiki.com/Micro-upgrades_of_%22Savanna%22 I 'm planning to make Savanna my standard battle paint on my other main account (Major now) till the top paints appear, so I will invest in some MU 's: Smoky part: at minimal the first two steps from 40% till 43% Ricochet part: at minimal the first three steps from 15% till 20% (hopefuly reducing five plasma-balls to four....still....) Rail part: simply very far, micro-upgrades at every decent MU-discount I definitely prefer the MU 'd Rail protection of Savanna, though Needle 's MU 'd Rico protection is great. Rank and price-difference between the two however makes the choice easy. Besides, Shaft protection is something I personally don 't care about since Dirty-paint...you just have to cope with the occassional...BOOMMM! :D

The differences between Viking and Hunter are small, a lot smaller than often suggested IMO. There are some speed and HP differences, but not spectacular ones. The Hunter is a bit smaller than the Viking, but only just a bit, nothing like compared to the Dictator. Both hulls follow different upgrade patterns and this mostly makes up for the differences. At M0: doesn 't really matter At M1: first the Viking M1, the Hunter M1 takes over at Warrant officer 4 At M1: (from WO4) the Hunter M1 At M2: first the Hunter M2, the Viking M2 takes over at Lieutenant-Colonel At M2: (from LT-Colonel) the Viking M2 At M3: the Viking M3, the Hunter M3 (probably) takes over at Fieldmarshal At M3: (from Fieldmarshal) probably the Hunter M3 http://en.tankiwiki.com/Ranks If you have to choose one hull for your entire Tanki carreer till at least Fieldmarshal I would take the Viking for sure. The worst time the Viking has is the time that the Hunter M1 ánd certainly the Hunter M2 pawn it. These "dark ages" of the Viking are between WO4 and LT-Colonel. This period in XP is LT-Colonel 's 455.000 minus WO4 's 125.000 = 330.000 XP From LT-Colonel the Viking M2 ánd certainly the Viking M3 pawn the Hunter M2. These "happy days" of the Viking last till at least Fieldmarshal when a phoenix rises from the ashes: the Hunter M3. This period in XP is Fieldmarshal 's 1.122.000 minus LT-Colonel 's 455.000 = 667.000 XP Simply looking at the XP needed till Fieldmarshal the Viking is (twice) the better choice. The best solution ofcourse, if you have the crystals... is to skip the "Viking 's dark ages" with the Hunter M1 and Hunter M2. :)

Because of lack of information I would advice to buy: nothing Stick with Tundra, it is a great paint at your rank, because Railgunners aren 't a rare species in Tanki Online... ;) If you happen to meet many Rico 's and really don 't like them: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=226544&page=626&do=findComment&comment=4013398

With Wasp I would choose Isida M2, with Hornet Freeze M2. Both are good though so (as always) choose the one you like the most.
-
Depends on your gaming style and garage. If you are in to medium hulls and definitely when you prefer heavy hulls: I would choose Viking. Isida needs speed to operate maximally IMO. So if you use Hornet or even better Wasp (M2 at Colonel) a lot I would advice Isida. Hornet is also great with Thunder though if you own a well-developed tank control. If you have all kinds of hulls and like them all: just choose the weapon you like the most.
-
Gave you an upvote accidentally. I was being "neutral"... ;) To answer your questions. Considering turrets: IMO don 't continue with the Firebird for now, it becomes weaker and weaker. Go for it again at rank Major. Take another close-ranger instead: Freeze or Isida. Smoky: the same. M2 at Colonel even further away than the Firebird M2...and at M1 level it gets beaten (in normal circumstances) by it 's natural successor: the Thunder M1... So Thunder M1 is a most definite Yes! Go for it, an amazing turret at your rank. Learn the "secrets" of Splash-damage and rock! :) About the hulls: Hornet is fine, steady upgrades and "cheap". In my view don 't take two medium hulls: make a choice between Thunder and Hunter. With the money spared you can micro-upgrade the HP (protection) a bit. You have already a fast light hull so maybe the Viking with more emphasis on armour might be a better choice than the Hunter. Whatever, both hulls are good. Good luck!

No, it isn 't. Though it might be the best "specialized" gun. What does using the "best" specialized gun involve? Well, if you really only use the Shaft, you will almost certainly turn into a camper. True, you can achieve high ranks with only being a camping Shaft player, but you will also never become a complete Tanker. Which means that you will become a restricted Shaft user and even more so with every ranking up... With other weapons you will just be what they call "a noob". So, there 's nothing wrong with the Shaft and it sure is an essential part of TO, but IMO don 't fall into this "Shaft-trap". Also fight with other weapons besides using the Shaft and more importantly, this will also give you the skills to use the Shaft in a much more advanced mobile style! :) Don 't see those mobile Shaft-players that often, but those guys (can) rock!
-
Savanna! Only paints are discounted, you know. ;) But if you have more than enough to spend: Smoky M2 for sure! Savanna is a great paint though IMO, will get it on my other kitless main acount (now Major) when it becomes Brig. Will use Savanna instead of the Tundra I mostly use with the Thunder. (only when facing a high number of other Thunder players I (will) use my good ol' Cedar) Savanna is a paint that can last many ranks in my view, especially with some micro-upgrades.
-
What is so hilarious about it? Here is a genuine Generalissimo who is trying to improve the overall XP gameplay by telling what a disgrace it is if you enter an XP with a Hornet M2 with Tundra. He wrote the XP guide so obviously he cares about it. And is his own rank important in this? He is simply right you know, because so many do use Tundra on M2 that it may even seem ok... but if you really understand the spirit of XP, you wait till you can obtain a proper paint. Most of the times it is just a matter of saving crystals for other upgrades. Sandstone is too expensive it seems...well in the next discount it 's just 41.250. Obviously for many Hy6 still too much for fairplay. Well, keep especially caring about your own high rank issues and also keep on ROFL...

Hunter M3 - Smoky M3 ? (rocks in test-server: very "allround" combo)
