Question to the Devs, I really hope for an answer: Why cannot matches end early when woefully lopsided, like the old days? Why stuff poor sods in to get spawn killed and no stars? Why?

    March Challenge — Hornet Legacy

No stars for 69 points or less in a battle still sucks. It is wrong. It is despicable and disgusting. It probably doesn't actually prevent any mults, and it certainly deprives players who played hard but just didn't do well enough. Totally stinks. I appreciate the early tiers are a bit more thoughtful, and it is useful that you are indicating rewards that are already owned, like the Vertigo animated paint. That might reduce confusion slightly. Another example of the stupid, defrauding 70-point minimum for stars. OKDad70 was just in an assault where I stopped most of the flags coming at us, but the game was pathetic. Our team won without Red scoring a single flag. I was mostly protecting the point. With Engineer drone, I was being diligent to pick up and share supply boxes. I also ended with only 65 points. No Stars! Red ended with only five players remaining, and only one received Stars. Blue had eight at the end, and two of us did not receive Stars. All players were fully active, but Red had no chance for whatever reason, and two of us on Blue just couldn't get enough kills to make the score. It is wrong, Tanki! Stop it! Stop penalizing players for being unlucky or not good enough.

I complained about not knowing if players might be cheating. Ricosck is full M4. I know my turret. I know how fast opponents should die. They aren't. Either you have weakened the basic Ricochet without telling us, or there is a widespread hack that lowers average damage taken.

I understand you are mistaken. Overdrives are not going to fix anything. Nothing is going to help MM battles be mostly balanced. Nothing is going to make the system understandable strategically. Frustration is now the rule. I'm a big picture kinda guy, an engineer by nature, training, and experience, and a dad, innately, and with five of my own children and I work weekly with the children of others. My breadth of experience is significant, as human experience goes. This system doesn't work well, and things that don't work well are inevitably abandoned. I appreciate you taking the time to reply, and I appreciate that my thoughts are being left visible, even if not taken seriously.

I'm not really interested in discussing, but I appreciate the comments. While Devs and staff are making the decions on purpose, I think most of the problem is snowball effect. They opted for "new" rather than fixing problems while they were fixable. I understand needing the new. Old players want new stuff, and new players have more to spend money on, but the problems are intractible now. By random, I mean strategy doesn't help. Too many factors are uncontrollable and unknowable. It has been a couple years since I saw players take no damage. I just see low numbers. It could be defender drone, or it could be hack, or it could be something else. Sadly, I don't think those who can do something about it care, or they realize there isn't anything can be done at this point.

My biggest complaint about the game now is how totally random it is. One can never know what to expect. Some opponent with this drone or that, with this protection or that, or with this alteration or that. One cannot take appropriate action. There is also the inability to have any confidence a player is cheating or hacking is some way because of so many possible game features that allow for the observed situation. Specifically, I've always been called a cheater and hacker when doing well, especially Ricosck when I happen to be the highest rank in a match. I'm not cheating, I'm just whooping them. I've played long enough with my equipment that I know what to expect of it, and I know how fast I should be able to kill a given opponent. Currently, though, I can face opponents who just won't die. I've seen opponents survive longer than the should have against just me, yet they are also taking fire from others. It doesn't make sense. Did the immortal have an active Defender Drone? Was there some other factor or combination of factors I was unable to consider? Or did the player hack the damage algorithm such that his tank had a permanent Defender-Drone-like protection? All of the changes and new additions keep complicating the game more such that counter play becomes impossible, especially for nonbuyers (or low-budget buyers). There is also matchmaking. One battle, I'm last; next battle, I'm first. Perhaps against all lower ranks, perhaps against all high-level Legends. This skill, that equipment, it is all just luck. Sure, skill still matters, but luck matters SO MUCH MORE! It is frustrating. What can be done? Probably nothing. Maybe it will help if hulls are spread apart again. Maybe it will help if hulls gain some hit points. Maybe it will help is speeds go up (except for Mammoth, which should be even slower, and should have some small long-range defense built in (or something that might add some uniqueness to it, or anything, again). Maybe adding the old maps to MM with their larger teams will help. I don't know. I don't care to discuss it. I just want to vent my complaint. I know no one cares. I don't care. I'd keep complaining about the worst problems. I've grown overly frustrated with the game again, especially with repeatedly being silenced and scolded, even when I've not come even close to rule-violations. It is getting hard to log in even to play a couple battles and maybe get a mission or two. I've given up on Challenges. If I get a bit extra, okay, but Storm paint? I bet 60% of players ranked above Captain already had it in their garage. Oh well. There seems to be no effort at all to reduce frustrations. There isn't even mention of how some of the problems and frustrations might be addressed, or even that addressing them is even being considered. I've head so many complaints over and over, and so many threats of quitting, over and over, and I've seen so many predictions of Tanki's imminent demise. Things are getting worse, but I don't see any of that happening soon. Of course, for myself, the Premium I invested in, and won lots of extra, fortuitously, is running out in a few days. I'm sure I'll stick it out through March, but without the Premium bonus, well, if I thought the game was worth anything, I'd consider buying Premium again on the next sale, but I can't justify parting with my money any more. Oh well.

Urgent and desperate complaint: Mines are a problem. Mines detract from the game. Mines are everywhere, and they account for an even higher respawn rate. Much too much time in a seven minute match is spent respawning. Everything is harder to accomplish. Obviously the Devs did NOT test adding so many mines to the game. This is a complaint, not a discussion. Please do not move this message.

You should clearly state "Browser" means nonmobile. Use some extra words and make it clear it is not available in the mobile version. Unless, of course, you mean it will not work in the client. It applies to, it will work, in the client? Hopefully they will clarify that the mean it won't be working in the mobile version. Perhaps the browser version is the same as the client version in their mind. Why no mobile? Probably just isn't working for mobile, but who can guess?

Massacre map still stinks. It is poor for DM. It is horrid for team battles. It still has random invisible walls appearing intermittently.

Perhaps someone has already defined this, but 70 score is the minimum for Stars now, with the changes. 70+ get stars, 69 or less, no soup for you.

    Let's Discuss Missions!

Y'all think there is some master plan, but how many times have I and others asked for a confirmation button for missions changes? We get ignored, and you don't want us complaining. We need change buttons to be different color from close/exit buttons, and we need a confirmation on changes. The simplest little things would help drive down the frustration level, but nothing useful ever happens.

February Challenge — Railgun LGC Skin

I have six accounts, all started before modules. Back then, one had to have Firebird protection. All six of my accounts have Storm paint. What on earth possessed the Devs to make such a common and practically free paint as the first reward for the Challenge? It seems an intentional insult to goad players into buying the battle pass. No. Not this time.
  14. Don't we all hate how similar the hulls are? Don't we all think we die too often, not enough hitpoints? Don't we all think the hulls are too slow (except Mammoth, it is too fast).

New Massacre has more lag. Still has invisible catches and "walls."

    Let's Discuss Missions!

Still getting top-3 X15 missions. Easy in three weeks. Obviously, nobody cares. It seems the beatings will continue until moral improves. Even if match making could routinely balance teams, the majority of battles will always be ineligble for the Top-3 Winning team missions, because ties are not wins.

    Important changes to the game

What exactly are you looking for? What did I leave out? For Legends, Weekly containers are worth 13500 crystals, so 81000 for six. For all ranks, a regular container is worth a minimum of 3125 crystals, or 18750 for six. Of course, I've calculated half-price for regular supplies (those available in the 100 kit in the garage for 17500 all the time). I'm just guessing, of course, but it seems to me that mines and speeds are about half of all containers. It seems to me 3500 crystals and 125 packs of DA or DD make up another one-fourth. Though probably not correct, this assumption indicates that of six regular containers four will average about 13000 crystals. That implies two will be worth more. For the remaining one-fourth (to one-third) of regular containers, it seems 10000 crystals and 125 packs of repair kits are most common, so about 10000 crystals for those. Of the remaining "uncommon" containers, 100 supply pack is worth 17500, 50 batteries are worth 15000, 5 gold boxes are worth 5000 (less if you don't catch them), and premium is only worth the crystals you earn on the three days it is active. For "rare" containers, regular paints are most common, with no real crystal value unless it is one you were considering spending crystals on. 25000 crystals and 150 batteries are good value, and 250 supplies. Everything else is too rare to try to average into value calculations. Is that enough to support the assertion that players will, on average, get more out of 6 Weekly containers over 6 regular containers? Given no chance of defining the percent-chance for any given container, it isn't possible to more than subjectively guess, but it seems the overall average will be slightly advantage-Weekly, but winning a million crystals would put the regular containers in the lead for a long time. The lower rank players would be ahead with regular containers on average, probably until about Commander. The Weekly containers offer players the advantage of being able to plan with quantities that can be counted on. Playing enough to get all daily missions each week will produce a known quantity of supplies and crystals. Playing so regularly will also increase efficiency of earning crystals from battles, but, of course, MM will still stuff the best players into the losing team all too often. Regardless, the regular containers offer rewards not available any other way, and the rarest rewards are likely to sooth a lot of wounds, if one is so lucky. My complaint about missions remains how long they take on average. One can play long enough to burn out for the day and have nothing to show for it. The same for a week.
  19. Hulls are too similar, too weak, and much too slow (except Mammoth, which is much too fast).

    Important changes to the game

Well, Nicola, I suggest you improve your supplies-use technique. I've been keeping track. With the old system, I was getting ahead slowly. (The War was a huge boost.) When they changed, I had to play five times more to get the rewards, and I was falling behind. Some time is still required to be able to have confidence in my current assesment, but the current system has me keeping up, though I am gradually cutting back on playing time. It has been too much lately. I doubt my supplies will keep up if I can't average two weekly missions each week. I do think I get five times more speeds and mines than I can use. Batteries are a problem. However, while drones are an obvious advantage, they aren't essential to good performance. (Frustration is mostly in the imbalance imposed by MM.) Repair kits are barely keeping up. If I run out, I'll make do. I reiterate, supplies are not for surviving slugfests. Just patience and some gumption required for that. Supplies are for improving overall crystal rewards for you in battles on average. Use supplies to win crystals. It is counterproductive to use crystals (or cash) to get supplies. Save crystals to buy big things, improvements for your equipment and your garage. If you care to spend money on the game, I suggest Premium. Buy it 90 days at a time when Premium is on sale in the Shop. If the game means enough to you to spend money on, Premium is easy to justify. Most other things are more just a personal call on whether you actually want it more than the money burning a hole in your pocket.

    Important changes to the game

Per the wiki, https://en.tankiwiki.com/Containers, weekly containers are clearly defined. Contents go up with rank. The lower ranks have an obvious complaint. Regular containers are the same for everyone. Most of the supplies must be counted at half-list-price, because the 100-supplies is always available at half-price. Batteries are almost always the full overly-inflated price. For Legend, using that and 3000 crystals per weekly containers, a Weekly Container is worth 13500 crystals. Of course, one must use the supplies to convert to crystals in battle, which is fun in good battles, but frustrating and demoralizing in most MM matches. With the earned crystals, we can buy most of what we want out of the containers, but, NOT all. Some things are only in containers. Half the containers is half the chance, regardless of how small; it is still half as much. A 125-pack of one of the four-supplies is worth 3125 (125 pieces times 25 crystals (half regular price)). So, the majority of regular containers are worth less than 1/4th of a Weekly container. Of course, a regular container may contain a 100-pack, which is worth 17500 normally. Regular containers might contain up to 1-million crystals. Of course, I've never heard of it. I think I've heard of only one Skin in containers. Awfully rare no matter how one looks at it. So, if your only objective is supplies and crystals, Weekly containers are okay. Of course, at six per week, one is probably using more of some of the supplies than received each week (especially repair kits, and, obviously, batteries). Regular containers and daily missions should make up the difference, but that assumes you are playing close to 10 hours per week. I don't think most players play more than about five hours per week. Oh well. Tanki doesn't seem to care. BTW, interested parties should read this post as soon as possible, because my posts seem to have a built-in self-destruct (or autohide). It stinks, but what's a dad to do? Don't buy supplies. Not with crystals. Not with cash. Never buy supplies. If you run out, deal with it. Supplies are for making crystals, not for using them up.

The change to Highways was unjustifiable. Elimated all that was good about that map. Terrible change.

    Important changes to the game

Trying to embrace the suck, the Hammer users seem to realize they did not get nerfed. The Isida uses are gleefully aware they have been buffed back to dominance. Only two battles, but mostly Hammers, Isida, and Freeze. Oh, and Thunder, deadly as ever. The Devs thought, oh, hat medic turret; some complain its healing is too week, and some complain it is too strong in attack, so, of course, they nerf the healing and buff the attack. Good grief.
  25. OKDad70

    Important changes to the game

I mostly agree, particularly regarding anything that allows variety and specialization. Tanki keeps making everything different more and more alike. Those complaining about the advantages of the long-range turrets on Highways are missing the point. I use plasma, Twins for OKDad70 and Ricochet for Ricosck. I have no problem on Highways, not in any mode. Sure, it is a bit annoying at times, but it is MUCH better than Massacre and all the invisible walls. That map is the only one I think should have been retired. Massacre should have been retired long ago.
