I played two battles after the update. It was simply harder get kills and score crystals. Even though I had my free premium account, my weapons were no more effective and all the people who used to have no particular paint protections suddenly did. The game will be less annoying after the free premiums are all used up, but until then I am not playing. It has been one day, and I will take two more.
-
DOWNVOTE! I don't need more experience points, I need crystals. Which are now harder to get when there are a lot of premium accounts around. I will take a little vacation here, and see if the current TO seems less like a pay-to-win game to me in a day or two.

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
PopChaser replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
Currently: 1) Polygon map. Any time in the last two days I have been able to get into Tanki at all, more than half of all games being played are in Polygon, which makes me hate it even more. 2) Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. I have stopped playing for today because of this; when I drive onto a supply box it takes two or three seconds to activate. If I simply drive through it, nothing. When I shoot, the enemy turns out to have already driven away and been killed by someone else. -
This is Tanki. I am in the USA. For the last few months I am only able to play TO Europe when I can get to it during daylight hours, but TO Brazil functions nominally at all times, with much less lag.

This same reasoning should apply to the idea of removing the upvote button as well. For many of the updates it does not become evident whether it is good or bad until one has played for a time. I become more annoyed with the score limits (= random ending times) on TDM, CTF, and CP modes every day. Apparently other people feel the same, but their solution is to go play DMs, which I will not do except when Missions require.

Last year I spent $150 (US) real money in this game. This year none, and the reasons for not doing so keep piling up.
-
In other words, "Tough. Those of us who have paid real money for at least enough ¢rystals to keep our turrets and hulls reasonably current don't want the peasants to get delusions of adequacy. Your purpose here is to supply us with moving targets."

I predict an exceptionally low turnout for the video of the week. Use of the orange paint means the user is doomed to die without ever coming in sight of the box in a real game, so the videos that are submitted will be entirely performances.

They are finding new and more boring variations. Today it offered me 12 repair kits and 22 double damage for earning 1000 exp in DM. I hit change and was blessed with 50 speed boost for capturing a Gold Box. I am now getting about one box a month, so I will take the day off and change again tomorrow.

Bought a Thunder M3. It is gratifying to again see my targets blowing up when I hit them a couple of times.
-
Still have a lot of ¢ry. Mostly planned to buy MUs.

I pretty much expect the incorrect information handouts to continue. When Daily Missions replaced Daily Gifts, we were told that the missions would pay much more than the gifts. Now they average exactly the same as far as I can determine.
-
Quite right. I do not foresee paying cash for crystals at any worse discount. Ever. A thing I have wondered; is your banking system / government forcibly exchanging your dollars and euros for rubles at a very disadvantageous exchange rate? That would make what Tanki is doing considerable less irrational.

BWAHAhahahahaha! (hiccup) Hahaha!

I would like to thank Tanki Online for eliminating any temptation I might have encountered to spend actual money for this sale.

I have five accounts. Today every one of them gave me DM mode and/or Polygon map, which I hate. Three of them did not offer crystals for any missions, but all the ones that did offer crystals were giving them only for DMs. At least one mission on each account had no reward but speed boost, and when I changed them, they became DM or Polygon. The value of the prizes is the same as the old gifts, Don't know when I will play again, but not today.

Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)

Yeah. They are convincing me that they do not know what they are doing. I expect this to continue over into TOU. What this means in terms of their business plan is that I have not spent any money on this game since last Christmas, and cannot foresee spending any in the future until they convince me that they will stop adding modifications that make it progressively less playable and fun. -

One of the six Tanki players I personally know has stopped playing, though he wants to be told if they withdraw this update. Ever since the awards for missions were halved, I have played my missions and stopped for the day. I used to play Tanki Online about twenty hours a week, now I am down to five or so. -

There is an amusing contrast between CTF and CP on one hand and TDM on the other. In the first two the game is actually extended when both sides stay and fight hard. One side quitting is really not a problem in the current versions of CTF and CP battles. One side quits, and the other wins immediately. There is a real problem with TDMs, though. If both sides stay and fight, the game is over in a small fraction of the time limit, but if one side quits, there is no way to trigger an early end to the game. I have had to sit for half an hour to get my ¢rystals, and now do a lot fewer TDMs because I have no way to guess how long a game will take, and I am quite frequently playing in a restricted time segment. -

This has been suggested over and over again in these forums. I can only conclude that Tanki staff for some reason think this is a Bad Idea, and for some other reason think they must not explain to the players why it is a Bad Idea. -

I have played on three machines (two at home, one at public library in the central U.S.), getting 50-60 FPS with 70-150 PING. Clean my Flash cache every day, after finding that cleaning it after every battle had no effect. I am guessing that moving to New York or Moscow would clear the problem up. Also do not have the problem at all on the Brazilian servers, along with much less lag, but my friends won't open accounts there and I do not speak the language. -
It seems to me that Twins are a bit more powerful than they were a year and a half ago when I first joined Tanki. The problem is that the ability to fire continuously without reloading and the nifty fireworks of the tracer effect have always attracted small children and idiots. If there are several Twins on your own side, it can be very hard to get a shot off because some of your "comrades" are shooting indiscriminately at everything in sight and knocking you around.

I don't need to rank up faster; I need more crystals. If I maximized my experience I would be a Lieutenant General, but I still would not be able to afford my first piece of M3 equipment. edit- Error. Some of the other M3 stuff available at MG and LtG is cheaper than the Thunder M3 I want.
-
Another frustrating thing about missions is that I have to quit each battle immediately the objective is achieved, because I have five accounts and frequently cannot do all the missions. I have always hated the quitters who leave in the middle of the battle, and now I am one of them.

As another sidelight, when I purchase ¢rystals, I do so with a prepaid card. To use a small bit of it for a minimum purchase one one of my "never bought" accounts will mean that I no longer have the full amount for a maximum purchase on this account, ending in a net loss of about 80,000 ¢ry.
