Agreed. Shaft has never failed me. From the time I could get it at M0 till now.

Personally, I would take viking. I used shaft viking exclusively from the time I got them at M0 till lieutenant colonel. I have found it to be a phenomenal combo. Vikings speed and health allows you to change sniping positions in a reasonable time, while still being able to take a few hits. Combined with Vikings low profile, you will be a menace to the enemy team. I have also heard that freeze-viking was a very good combo. Indeed, I have seen it used several times. It is not a combo to mess with. Vikings health combined with freezes stopping power is lethal. If you get caught by it, it doesn't even matter that the freeze is on viking. Plus, Vikings extra health allows it to tank a few more hits than hornet. This combo would make you a killer base defender. If that isn't your style, this combo also has applications in mid-field, and offensive roles.

IKR. That is one fat mammoth. BTW I ranked!

I`m trying to decide between Hammer and Firebird M2
-
That`s very true Buggati. I`ve found that I`ve been using my thunder more than my shaft recently
-
So true. :D For the record para_cw, viking is a medium tank. Not a heavy tank. It is an all-purpose platform that pairs fairly well with any turret. I also find that going into the fray guns-a-blazin' with viking can be effective. If you have a strong gun, you don't need speed, and the extra health means you're alive longer to deal more damage. Speed does not always = armor. Take noise for example. If I jump from the red side into the blue base for a flag, my speed is instantly cut down. If there are a lot of enemies, you're going to take a ton of damage. That's why I prefer my viking over my hornet.

Yes, and depending on your Mu's, medium hulls disintegrate with shaft. BTW. I have a PM for you.

Although I don't play cp matches that often, I can attest to the fact that thunder works very well in small maps. In a sandbox DM I played using one of my alts, I had a score of 144 and 3

Remind me to try that sometime.

You've brought up some very good points. I use many of those tactics myself. Though one thing I liked to do before the update was use the scope as a way do assess enemy defence and movement. Because of the zoom, this can be extremely helpful to my teammates. But, I don't consider it living in the scope. To avoid any further disputes, I'll close by explaining that I wasnt exactly frustrated. Though I'll concede that the way it was written might've caused a misunderstanding between us.

No. They were blocking ME. But you do raise a good point. A lot of new players will look to the one doing the best in their team, to try and get points and flags for themselves.
-
I will say that one of them was a noob, but the other two. Definitely intentional.
-
Actually, I encountered a few in just the last two days. At or around the WO1 rank
-
Well, I meant when I`m capping flags. I`ve been stopped many times because people block me.
-
IK. you told me everything in the PM. Anyway, I`ve noticed an increase in saboteurs.
-
No I`m not going to say it.

fufususumumu1 FUBAR is an acronym standing for something that will get me banned if i typed it out here. Come to think about it, so is SNAFU.

Ahh the memories...

I'm with timetoplay. It may be boring for some people, but not for others. Also, what is wrong with "living in scope mode?" When the devs first released shaft, they emphasized its scope. That scope is what sets shaft apart from every other gun. Personally, I see nothing wrong with using shaft as a sniper turret. (Gee, that sounds a lot like what the devs wanted doesn't it?) Anyway, I dislike the laser because it shows the enemy where I am. Sniping has lost the skill element of hiding. There's no reason to take the time to find sniping spots, because the enemy will be able to see you when you're in scope mode. Even if you don't "live in scope mode", you'll still be found, no matter where you hide. As another point, you said use scope mode only by necessity. What do you expect us to do? We may as well be throwing spit balls at the enemy if we use arcade mode. Shaft is renound for its high damage. Playing only with arcade shots negates this. If your only going to play using arcade, I would recommend a different weapon, because you are really hindering yourself by using only arcade shots.

Are you going to say 1500th reply?^ Any way, I've seen people do amazingly with that combo. Even on attack.
-
I don't have mammoth m3. ;) I'll keep that in mind though.
-
I also recommend playing in daytime maps with shaft. It can be super difficult to see the laser in the daylight. At night, it's deadly obvious.
-
Sometimes I feel the same way. At other times, it feels fine. And at other times, I feel that the health that mammoth is known for isn't there.
