[Forum Game] Guess the Turret/Hull modification of the user bellow.
M1-A2 replied to High in Forum Games
heh heh ... Nope PUM has Viking M2 -
I'm always seeing this one guy that uses Shaft-Hunter-Sandstone in poly cp's. I think his name is ehudgg. Aside from him, I've seen several shafts in polygon cp's. Maybe 10 total. Not a large ammount, but for this type of match, it's high

Not always. Depending on the battle and where you're set up, you can save a lot of supplies and still do very well in the battle. You'll certainly be saving a lot more than the cannon fodder. *cough* erm the flag cappers. In terms of supplies.

My take on this is a little confusing. I don't mind drugging a bit. (Using a Double Armor here and there) I'm okay if people do that. It doesn't really affect the game play, and as long as it doesn't get out of hand, people are okay with it. The thing that really annoys me is when people start over-drugging. Spamming the drug keys as fast as the smart cool downs will let them. What makes it worse is that they'll continue to do this even after the rest of the team has left. Sure they're wasting their supplies, and by all means, go right ahead and waste them. But why continue abusing what is left of the opposing team, when you're so far ahead that they have no chance of tying, let alone winning. Overall, people just get extremely frustrated with it. The subject of drugging is a sensitive topic. Sometimes it's hard to tell wether someone's drugging, or they just got a lucky spawn, and they got 2 or even all 3 supplies. Here's a different look at it. The more you drug, the less you can get. Sure, drugging to no end gives you the feeling of invincibility. That's awesome. I enjoy that feeling of power. But, think about this. You're having fun drugging and then the enemy team starts leaving. Soon there's only one or two people left. Now that everyone's gone, less kills are being made, meaning that the fund is t growing as much. You can continue to drug all you want, but as soon as those tankers leave, your fund stops growing. If you're in the middle of, say, an hour long match when the last enemy leaves, your fund will be exponentially smaller than it would have been if you hadn't drugged so much. Why? Because most, if not, all of the enemy team would still be fighting. Kills would be made, and the fund would grow. So some food for thought. The more you drug, the less you get.

I like the concept of the missions. Work for your gifts. The only thing I would add, is an option to choose a certain type of gift. For example, I complete today's mission, and then have a menu displaying different gifts (I.e. supplies, DCC's, pro pass, and crystals.) I choose one and that is my gift for the day. Alternatively, the gifts could be random, but you have an option to disable DCC's. this option would be good for non-buyers because it's not a waste of a mission for something you won't use. I personally don't buy crystals, and it always annoys me when I get a DCC. I know I'm never going to use it, so it's a waste for me. With a mission it would feel worse because I know I just wasted time and possibly supplies for a useless item.

You could probably get even more if you've got a SMP. I've got a 100% one, and I can rack up about 10k in an hour. Without it, I'd be getting close to 5k.

Viking-Shaft-Corrosion Viking-Thunder-Corrosion I got started on Viking-Shaft a long time ago after watching a few videos made by ShadowVisions. I was hooked. I used shaft exclusively all the way through Lieutenant Colonel. I bought M2 and MU'ed it enough to one-shot a stock M3 Mammoth (with a DP). Then tanki had a sale on Shaft and Thunder. I figured, why not. So I bought M1 and M2 thunder. I instantly fell in love with this turret. It became my first M3 during the Iron Days. And, since the addition of the new SMP's it has eneabled me to rank up about every other week. I got Corrosion a long while back as an upgrade to Dirty. It came out of necessity. Now I'm looking into new paints to replace it after more than 2 years of service.

Don't forget about May Day. I'm fairly certain that has a sale. I would say go for Isida or Thunder. The reason being is that both of them have a great ability of getting a lot of XP fast. Isida, with its healing bonus. and Thunder with its splash damage. If you want to gain crystals faster, I'd go with Thunder. I have seen Isida's do very well in matches, but often times, Other weapons take the top spot., meaning they'll get more crystals.

I'm having a debate between Emerald and Inferno. I'd like Emerald, because I'm a Thunder user, and I'm usually in the middle of the fight. Consequently, I take a Ton of splash damage. Twins are also an issue for me. I play a lot of polygon cp, and it's not uncommon to see a few twins there. On the other hand, I'd like Inferno, because, like I mentioned above, I'm in the middle of the fight. This includes going for flags in Noise matches, where it's almost guaranteed that there will be a firebird, twins, or freeze defending. I'm leaning towards Emerald for a few reasons: 1) Green is my favorite color. :P 2) It has railgun protection 3) Heavy Thunder protection Which one do you guys think I should get? I should say that my current paint is Corrosion, so I am in dire need of a paint update.

A new turret wouldn't be a bad thing, though I don't think that Mammoth entirely agrees with your play style. I may be wrong. And since you're planning on mounting the thunder on your hunter anyway, buying the kit will be a waste of crystals. Just wait for a discount to come along. Then you'll be able to buy something else with all the crystals you saved by not buying the kit.

Well played. Well played indeed. Have a great April Fool's Day. (Or fooled, for everyone that fell for that. )
-
Wait.. Hold the phone... This topic isn't about trying to pronounce certain kit names that we shall not mention? *Cough cough* Eyjafjallajökull :P So back to the topic at hand, Thunder. This turret is the main reason why I've been ranking up about every other week. (Maybe it's doing its job a little too well. ;) I feel like I'm outgrowing my equipment at the rate that I'm ranking up.) It's been a fantastic turret to use, and I thoroughly enjoy it.
-
I gave up trying to pronounce it when I saw this. If anyone is trying to learn how to say it, you might need that link.
-
Can we get a phonetic pronunciation guide as well? :P The audio was helpful, but still really confusing.

Oh. My. Word. A suspenseful story as always kev. Nicely written. Keep up the amazing work. Only problem I have is that I have to wait a whole month to hear more of the story. :O in all seriousness though. It's a fantastic series, and I can't wait to read more.

Interview [Issue 33] Passes: Players share their impressions
M1-A2 replied to Remaine in Newspaper Archive
On the day of their release, the passes were glitched. When bought, they took the crystals as normal, but didn't show up in the garage. Players weren't sure if they were working or not. They were indeed working, and the devs soon fixed the visibility issue. I personally love the new passes. They are highly affordable and are very helpful. Since buying my 100% SMP, I've ranked up about three times. It was well worth the crystals I spent on it. The only problem is that I feel that I'm now ranking TOO fast for my equipment lol. So now I'm desperately waiting for a sale to upgrade my M2 viking and buy a new paint. :P -
I agree that gameplay with this combo is, shall we say, dull to say the least in a normal match. However, I've seen it used to a fantastic degree of success. This combo has its merits in extremely small maps (i.e. Island and Ping-Pong) no matter what gamemode. I have had the unfortunate experience of going toe-to-to with an M3-M3 Variant of this combo in a Ping-Pong match. Needless to say, with no where to run, my team and I were... toast. While it can be useful in certain situations, I do agree that Firebird Mammoth is not exactly the best combo. Fantastic article! Keep up the good work! :) Edit* It seems EpicTroll ranked up to major between the time of you posting and my writing this. Congrats!

Other [Issue 33] The Pansy Factor, Drugs and Quitters
M1-A2 replied to MadDog21 in Newspaper Archive
Fantastic article, and really applies to tanki as much as the real world. I liked how you added examples from your own life to drive the point home. Five stars. -
The same battle as shado from my point of view. My gold box. http://prntscr.com/6m4cho And another pic of the funds

I'm with you. Why get hornet M3 when my viking M2 already has more health. I'm always in the middle of the fight with my thunder, and I need all the health I can get because of the splash damage.
