Announcement Big Changes Coming To The Newspaper This February
Flexoo replied to Flexoo in Newspaper Archive
Update Hello everyone. As promised the time has come to explain the changes that will be happening in the Newspaper this month. But before we get to that, I deem it's important to explain the delay in the publishing schedule. As it was said in December, the next publication date was suppossed to be February 1st. This deadline was completely reachable for us, and in fact, we were ready to start publishing again. The thing that crossed our plans was unexpected, as I mentioned earlier, and that thing was V-LOG or the lack of itm respectively. If you are asking how are these two things related, the simple answer to it is that we prepared an announcement about these changes for the upcoming V-LOG and did not want to get ahead with publishing before the official announcement gets out. Thus, we decided a week postponement until next V-LOG would be acceptable. Unfortunately, for some reason, be it human error or something else, the announcement did not make it to the this week's V-LOG and we believe it just would not be fair to keep you waiting any longer. However, we hope the announcement will make it to the next week so that we can reach the wider public with the news. With that out of the way and clarified, let's make the changes official. As most of you know, the main way of publishing content in the Newspaper for practically most of its existence were the monthly Issues published on first Friday of each month. While this system proved to be effective in the past, the last year or so showed us that one issue in which all the articles appeared together and the announcement about it does not generate enough views and attention to the content we produced. It was frustrating for reporters to produce content of high standard and get maybe couple of hundred views. We also learned from the responses that you left in the past surveys that lot of you tankers prefer to read just a couple of articles at a time and would actually appreciate if there was less content that is published more regularly. Based on this, we made changes accordingly. From this month on, there will be no issues coming out other than maybe on special occassions like Halloween or New Year. Instead, we plan to publish articles separately and spread them equally throughout the month. The schedule we set for the start is one article per week and one contest every two weeks. The articles should be published on Fridays. It may look like there won't be as much content coming out as it was with issues, but we are just starting and testing this new system. So for the start, we decided to set a manageable amount of articles we can guarantee producing. Naturally, as the months will progress and we stockpile more content, we will adjust the schedule and publish more often. Since the articles will be spread more equally on more days of the month, we also advise you to follow the Newspaper forum section and the announcements in the Tanki Online Newspaper Hub topic. We will also try to post as many in-game, Facebook and Discord announcements to make you constantly updated on the new articles and content we created. We are starting today, so stay tuned for the first article. Sorry for the text wall, and thanks for understanding. The Newspaper team. -
I would not say they were dumb. They just used this opportunity to their advantage. For example, lot of maps still have these quite good defensive positions that are harder to attack, like bases. A Vulcan with heavy hull could easily fire from these positions practically infinitely with Isida in his back and the Isida would gain a massive number of points. These Isidas did not heal others because they could not, but because they did not need too since healing this single Vulcan would give them a bunch of points. I found it frustrating when I tried to fulfill main objectives of the battle, ahen I was using supplies, when I was putting my skin in the game just to come short to these Isidas that did not even leave the base or use a single supply and still got more points than me.
-
To be honest, I am quite happy they removed the feature that allowed Isidas to gain points for healing indirect self-damage. It was often abused by Isida players who got tons of points for literally just sitting 10 minutes in one place, not having to do anything other than hold the spacebar. Not saying everyone did it, but it was a frequent sight.

No matter what type of battle or map I go to, whenever there is Vulcan with Incidiary alt, it usually is in Top 3, mostly in first place actually. Dunno if it just me, but that's my reality. Oh and yes, I totally agree that you should not need two modules for one turret especially with such limited slot possibilities. In the end, the burn damage is caused by the same turret so the module for Vulcan should cover this as well.

It is possible as we generally do not care who the author is but what content is submitted and how it fits the schedule. -
It will be posted in the section.

We are not deceiving anyone, the changes are being implemented and we prepared some stuff that is really, really nice in fact. The delay was unfortuantely unexpexted and is not entirely because of the News team. I would explain it further, but if I did, I would give away a part of the surprise. If you have a doubt, I accept it as it is rightful. Hopefully, we will be able to change your stance at least a bit with the new stuff we prepared. -

Hello, all the tankers and readers. As you may or may not noticed in December, we said we plan to introduce a couple of changes in the New Year to the way Newspaper works. These changes are being implemented as we speak and that's the reason why the issue won't be posted this week. BUT, let's end on a more positive note. We already have a bunch of awesome content prepared, and you can look forward to some really cool and BIG stuff that is coming to you this February. There's a lot of totally new content, some classics and naturally contests. We are sorry to let you wait a bit more, but we hope you will be blown away. Stay tuned and best regards. Update: The prizes have been delivered on 29th.
-
Thanks. We are trying to continue the Newspaper tradition to our best abilities ;)
-
I will check it.
-
Yes, the prizes have been submitted and delivered.

I myself bought Sabouter because I witnessed how powerful it can be in defense. Just one use of fully MUed drone drops like 5-6 mines which makes it practically ridiculous to breach the defenses.
-
Results should be out within next few days.
-
Approved. Excellent as always.
-
Approved. Edits: Fixed double spacing in few sentences. Nice. I would just advise to either make chapters longer or if they cannot be made longer, merging them in one topic.
-
Tolko komentov, musime to tu ozivit.
-
The results will very likely be posted before next issue. I'll contact Yis and see when he can judge the entries. He might be currently occupied with the festivities.
-
Approved. No edits.
-
Approved. Edits: - only minor ones, added just few commas for the pacing. Nice continuation and use of vocabulary here. What I forgot last time to mention is the use of present tense for telling the story. That's quite unique. I would maybe advise you to also add some spoiler for translations since you use words from different languages, just in case players need them.
