Honestly, there are dozens and dozens of writing competitions even in real life and pretty much every contest or competition is somehow based around idea of rewarding and trying to be the best - some offer money and others just offer some title or some honorable mention or acknowledgment (btw this doesn't apply only to writing). On top of that, these contests aren't just about winning prizes, they also help with development of one's writing while facing competition of other writers and challenges that come with it. Besides, I feel you generalize a bit. I agree with you there probably are people who don't really like writing that much and just strive to get some sort of attention out of it, but then again, you can often clearly see who they are based on the quality, energy and time they put into their works. Also, there still are many writers who post their work just for fun and because they like to write something here and there, they even sometimes declared they have no intention of joining reporter team.

Agreed with Magenta on this one. I would definitely try to avoid anything that is related to religion as it usually leads to lot of controversies and fights. I also don't know how you want to link gods with this game. It does not sound as a good match up to me, at all. "that's the thing, i don't want to have to make up entire characters and their backgrounds myself. and because this game is international, most likely the ghosts i grew up with aren't known by people from other parts of the world. i could use well known non religious ones like frankenstein but that'd be copyright infringement." Besides, creating your own character isn't that complicated and I would not even think about creating a whole background for the character considering the word limit. If you will spend words on describing the characters you won't have enough space to develop the plot.

It does not have to be about tanks and you can definitely put humans in your story. It just have to be in some way linked to Tanki, but that does not mean that you have to use every turret or hull in the game. Nope. You won't get a forever ban if your story shares some similarities with other stories. That's okay because it's practically impossible for you to know what will others write about. We control the plagiarism, a.k.a. a word by word copy-pasting of someone else's work. Definitely. There are plenty of tools that can uncover it.

Well, you can potentially go up to 1 000 words. As stated in the rules, you can make it slightly shorter or longer (+/- 200 words). Nope, this is Halloween Special, not Issue.

It actually is Aleksandrovsk. At that time it was a New Year map, but Tanki brought it as regular map a year later. Even through the matchmaking test in August, there was a map called Yorkshire which was basically a remodeled New Year map from 2016.

This was kind of a premiere :P. We plan to do another battles in the future that will be more fair, e.g. format battles where skills will be deciding the game. I am not sure we will be able to satisfy this request. If we will lower the rank limits and make battles for more ranks (those special battles where all or most ranks can participate) it will create an uneven environment for players team since most reporters are high-rankers. We might organize something on reporter alt accounts for lower ranked players, although it may not be as special :P. Or we will make photo shoot for all ranks.

eSports reporters (as the name suggests) focus only (or mainly) on topics related to eSports (e.g. interviews with eSports players, reviews from tournaments, etc.) while normal reporters cover various game topics or other interesting content (guides, reviews, special update reviews, contests, etc.)
