I believe it was said in the Vlog that alterations will raise certain default parameters while nerfing others to keep the game balance (i.e. damage from a Rapid-Fire Thunder would be less powerful than the standard Thunder). If it makes you feel better, here's how Smoky alterations can be less scary: "Reload 200 secs FASTER Reload"---> just make Smoky normal damage and critical damage significantly weaker "100% MOAR critical chance"---> just make Smoky critical damage significantly weaker "500 critical damage"---> just make Smoky normal damage significantly weaker and critical chance significantly lower

Oooh I see...I actually thought when the Silver Box supply activates, everyone in the battle gets the unlimited drugs. I must have missed the "There should be a supply that deactivates all supplies apart from yours" part. Sorry.

@dan146_tanker Hmm...sounds like your idea kinda borrows from my idea of deactivating players' active boosts (it's on page 55 of this topic), though it sounds interesting. I mean, from the sound of it, your Silver Box supply would reset all players' boosts in preparation for five minutes of unlimited drugging. Along with the potential of catching Silver, this new supply would be a fun new game mechanic to drugging. As a bonus, perhaps your Silver Box supply could disable Smart cool downs too, and everyone can drug like crazy just like old Tanki....

Perhaps Tanki could use one more supply that I call the Nullifier supply. With Nullifier active, any attacks you throw at drugged foes will nullify the supply boosts that those drugged foes had. For example, let's say a player named Bes_N0pe has Double Armor and Double Damage active. After activating Nullifer, if I manage to hit Bes_N0pe, Bes will lose the Double Armor and Double Damage boosts. Likewise, if Bes_N0pe has Speed Boost active and is running for the flag, once I hit Bes, Bes's Speed Boost will be negated, and Bes will run at normal speed. With that said, here are some suggested Nullifer aspects: If you activate Nullifer, your boosts from Double Armor, Double Damage, and Speed Boost will be gone. While Nullifer is active, you cannot activate any supplies (including mines) Also, your attacks will only deal half as much damage Nullifer will only last for 15 seconds After Nullifier wears off, one has to wait 15 seconds to activate another supply

Do I have to specify what modification the module in question is (i.e. Kodiak T-A M1 or Griffon T-A M2)? Or is the plain old module name good enough (i.e. Kodiak T-A or Griffon T-A)?

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
N3tralRE replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
Hit the nail on that! I dislike how other maps like Subway, Chernobyl, and Bobruisk are barely played compared to the likes of Rio, Noise, and Polygon. For some reason, Esplanade and Berlin are fairly common in low ranks, yet they are less popular among higher ranks. Also, is it me or is Silence no longer as popular as it once was? Granted, Silence hasn't completely died, but I'm seeing more, say, Noise and Polygon battles than Silence battles these days around my rank. Maybe the new design just turns off some players, but I don't know... -
Good point you made. Pretty much, this update really caters to those players in the NCO ranks (Master Corporal to First Sergeant) the most since all protection modules are at their cheapest prices during those ranks. Granted, medium-ranked players still save some crystals when buying the M1 and M2 modules of premier modules (i,e, Kodiak T-F, Griffon T-A, etc.). Still, as much as I want to buy my first triple-protection module, I'm feeling confident with my current legacy modules since I mostly bump into Thunders, Rails, and Shafts. While I could always get a module with at least Rail and Thunder protection, I'd rather save my crystals for my turrets and hulls. Hopefully, the Newspaper will make an in-depth review of the new modules describing the best ones for different types of gameplay. EDIT: DEFINITELY not buying new modules right now since you have to pay for their modifications if you bought an earlier modification, just like with turrets and hulls (gotta pay crystals to upgrade an M1 to its M2 version). Now sure, M2 triple protection modules (with 25% protection against three weapons) are great to have. More likely, however, I'll stick to what I originally said: focusing on upgrading hulls and turrets.
-
Thanks for your response. I understand that hulls and turrets are a higher priority than protections. Plus, now that I think about it, although buying those 30k triple modules is a good deal in the long run (25% protections from three turrets starting at Lt. Col isn't too shabby), the need for lots of protection in top ranks requires micro upgrading M3 modules, which only add costs to micro upgrading hulls and turrets. Still, just to be sure, how safe am I with just my current legacy modules (Winter, Tundra, Dragon, and Swamp)? If only I was below WO5, lol... Just in case, here are maps I like playing in:

In case anyone missed it...

Since all these paint modules more accessible than before, I've been considering buying my first protection module. I really want to get Griffon T-A (baby Prodigi/Picasso) and Lion T-D (in case I go to Noise or Polygon), but because I'm a Major, I gotta pay 100k crystals for each...and I only have 40k right now. Kodiak T-F (baby Clay) looks appealing at 30k, but I don't really encounter Ricochets with Thunders and Rails these days. I suppose Kodiak T-E is fine; not the best, but at least it protects against three XT weapons (Firebird, Rail, and Thunder)...I don't know about buying it, though. Anyways, I'm just a Smoky/Shaft player (with some Isida experience) who plays in Rio, Serpuhov, Monte Carlo, Future, Kungur, Noise, Polygon (on rare occasions), and pretty much any medium-sized or large-sized map. Should I bother with the 30k triple modules or just save my crystals? Thanks in advance.

Just in case anybody missed it... I heard from a couple of Lieutenant Generals that Mammoth isn't the best buy for higher ranks (one of them recommended getting a "Railgun or something" instead). Still, having Tanki's bulkiest hull could be a great boost for me... By the way, are Hohloma, Blacksmith, or Rustle worth buying?
-
Hi guys. I'm thinking about getting either Shaft M2 or Mammoth M2 in Tanki's upcoming birthday sales (50% off FTW). I tried out Shaft M2 on my alternate account, and I find it reasonably good for taking out distant targets (it isn't as versatile as Smoky, though). As for Mammoth, I figured that I'll need some heavy bulk as I climb up into the high ranks (and I'll be able to play on smaller maps w/o being overwhelmed by other heavy hulls). I also currently have around 65k crystals. So what's the better buy: Shaft M2 or Mammoth M2? P.S. I'm confident with the equipment I currently have, but what predominant threats lurking in the Major through Brigadier ranks should I worry about? Will I need a new paint(s) or should I just to march onwards with my current equipment? My Current Equipment: Maps I play in:

Sounds a bit much. I would just refresh the page and log back into Tanki.

Remember, though, that the chance of Gold dropping was multiplied by 10 (from 1/10000 to 1/1000); that doesn't mean that every battle will have the same number of golds dropped since, after all, Gold is randomly dropped. You can't just say that the Russian battles got more gold than English battles because the Russian battles you were in happened to have more Gold dropped than your English battles.

@PacoGeo Your idea is fresh. I mean, Jade and Cedar are the ONLY two paints with Thunder-Smoky protection, and Jade needs lots o' MU's for it to really be effective...I am curious, though. Why would I want an offshoot of Clay with Smoky protection instead of Rico protection? I suppose it's up to perspective: if you feel the need to buy a Smoky-Clay and don't mind the lack of Rico protection, then go for it once Tanki does add it (will they add it though?). For me, though, I want to buy Clay because of its 50% Rico protection and its additional coverage against Thunder and Rail, and I won't mind buying Savannah or Needle for Smoky protection. On that note, though, I propose adding a customizable paint where you can select what protections you want (with balancing limitations, of course); then, you can have your Rail/Thunder/Smoky paint that you've wanted...
-
Perhaps somebody already came up with this, but how about making the premium paint parameters customizable and perhaps remove the mine protection? Some brief details: Feel free to balance this idea should it be implemented.
-
Well, I was just recently offered a test drive of Thunder M2, which I declined, and was then offered 20% discount on it...still don't want to buy it. Still waiting for personalized discounts (could be wrong, but I speculate that I will get a personalized discount for some filter equipment that I won't use).

Anyone who has been around for a long time but is still low ranked?
N3tralRE replied to sohankpatel in Archive
Like you, I have played Tanki since August 2012. I made four accounts throughout my playthrough. Sadly, my first account (was W05 last time I played on it) was stolen in 2013 after I foolishly gave my account info on a site claiming to give free crystals (as of now, whoever owns my first account has ranked up to Colonel). As for my 2nd account, set up days after the theft, I forgot the account's password last summer and had to start over from scratch (fortunately, I've wised up and am careful with my accounts nowadays). As a matter of fact, this account is by far my most experienced, and I plan to push further as much as possible. My other account was mostly unused, though I will turn to it once I feel the need to relish with lower ranks. Unlike some, I don't plan on buying all turrets, hulls, and paints; for now, I have fodder Railgun M0 and Twins M0 (got them from a kit that included Firebird and won't use 'em), Smoky M1, Firebird M1, Viking M1, Hornet M2, Forester, Swamp, White, and Dragon. -
Sorry about the confusion; I meant by a paint that has protection from longer ranged weapons (Smoky, Thunder, Rail, etc.) like Tundra.
-
I've been itching to buy just one/two more paint(s) in the upcoming sales for my journey through Captain, Major, and the Colonel ranks (Savannah will be my first new paint once I reach Brigadier). My Current Equipment: Maps I play in: Anyhow, I've narrowed down my paint desires to two coverages (no Captain paints since I won't rank up in time): Roger for mid-range firefights Fracture or Tundra for longer ranged encounters (esp. against rampant Railguns) Should I just buy a longer ranged paint for my gameplay? Thanks in advance.

Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)
N3tralRE replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
@creeperskelly Expanding on your proof, the current score caps have bred "get rich quick" druggers who will basically end battles sooner and get a nice chunk of the fund while everyone else gets less-than-satisfactory leftovers. Certainly, this update would drive away players who don't play Pro battles and aren't as adept at handling druggers; after all, what kind of non-drugger would want to go to a battle that will most likely be unprofitable and unenjoyable for players other than druggers?
