Seems that Tanki wanted to level the playing field by removing the substantial gains won from catching the Black Friday gold rains. Still, I wished Tanki released the Black Friday event in a more stable condition. That way, not as many people would be distressed by losing the cool rewards from the first hours of the event. As it stands now, though, Tanki has expectedly disappointed more of its playerbase rather than please it.

I don't know what to think right now. Sure, now that the Black Friday gold rains are no more, Tanki is back to normal and is no longer being exploited by its players. Yet, I have a mixed opinion on the containers themselves. I mean, having a random chance at getting a rare paint, a normal paint, some crystals, some drugs, or some golds? Sounds like a recipe for turning off unlucky ones even more (i.e. someone winning a free Red paint while others win cooler looking paints like Zeus or Clay). Well, it's a no-brainer to see Tanki making a profit out of those who wish to try their luck.

Time for my input! So...Tanki just pulled the emergency brakes on this runaway Black Friday event. It was basically a wetdream of free crystals, supplies, golds, and paints that would utterly undermine the economy and remove incentives to play the physical game of Tanki. Indeed, this day will be remembered in the TO grimoires.

Well, this is new. The servers were unstable, so TO had to cut out Regular battles from the Battle List...
-
There is an even bigger problem; all the battles in the battle list are PRO Battles! I tried entering a random match, and the matchmaking system hasn't responded for 2 minutes. Well, bummer. What a way to interrupt Halloween celebrations. EDIT: So I tried again, and was able to enter the Halloween Map via the Matchmaker. Kinda sucks you can't pick particular Halloween battles, or any non-PRO battles for now...

Here's my entry. Valid, no?

You could buy a new turret (i.e. Thunder M2), acquire more protection, or preferably spend it on some MU's for your current turrets. Other than that, your garage is sufficient to keep going up the ranks.

So...Ursa T-J vs Kodiak T-A? I usually play maps like medium and large-sized maps of assorted types, and I want to purchase an M3 tank combo that isn't a Product Kit combo. I really want Magnum protection, but available options are...limited.

My Vulcan has been bugged as well. I have even recorded this malfunction. Enjoy! :D

Results [Special] Farewell to Summer 2017 - Capture the Win (in CTF)
N3tralRE replied to Vikingsrallentando in Newspaper Archive
What a nice little contest to end Summer with... Anyways, here's my entry, but fair warning: the date and time can be found at the top right since I use a Mac computer. P.S. While the year is indeed missing, I'm certain that Saturday, August 26 happens in the year 2017. -
Those XP/BP folks must have been so humiliated that they were Massacred by a "lowly" Vulcan.

A rather blatant example that just having a higher score doesn't win battles. Boring Background: The actual pic:

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
N3tralRE replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
Speaking of Overdrives, I am mostly mixed about it. Overdrive as a tool is quite a powerful tool that can and does change the tide of battle. At the same time, though, Overdrive works best with timing and coordination. This is especially the case when sometimes, players on Overdrive are still stopped by a stronger counterforce, usually because such players end up charging in too early and get smashed by a strong enough resistance. Now, I'm not saying Overdrive must be removed. What I am saying is, though, is that players will have to get used to ill-timed Overdrives every now and then. -

Losing a close battle. Bonus misery if the other team gets a 98 while mine gets a 96. A bit off-topic, I don't feel like playing after losing 1-0 to a 98 team. Despite being my team's leading Isida, the other team happened to have 4 Isidas, and they were WOrKINg ToGeETHer (not even words can express my rage). AND the other team was "smart enough" to feed Overdrives to the one Isida tanker who stole our flag. Essentially, most of the enemy team was huddling around that one Isida thief, making it impossible to try and return the flag....and then my team tripped and we lost in the final seconds. My team may have held the enemy at bay, but it stumbled. Oh, and the server restarted, oh what misery. And I cannot verbally express my frustration anyhow here. Before you comment about my fault or my mistakes or gitting gud, I will warn you that such advice has no room in my vengeance-concentrated mind. Part of me wishes to exact my vengeance, but I rationally know that is impossible. So hey, while I'm losing myself, I'm typing this story to save my own sanity from crumbling. How great writing is to funnel away anger. P.S. Yeah I think a lot. Too bad for me. Why go back in to get shanked again. Madness I tell you. Oh, and it happened to be a battle where I wanted to even my previous loss, only to lose again. -
I'm genuinely concerned with the inevitable Hull Overdrive Update. With 7 Overdrives to play with, game balance is going to be more complex, and I doubt the dev's are up to the task of good game balance. Personally, I think there are going to be 3-4 powerful Overdrives that will encourage more usage of those 3-4 hulls. Unfortunately, the remaining hulls with less suitable Overdrives will be used less. If the dev's are trying to diversify hull usage in battles, they'd better step up to their task.
-
@ThirdOnion To be fair, many "invincible" players have flocked to this new Overdrive superdrug since the devs cracked down on Repair Kit abuse (all this suppky talk eerily reminds me of real life substance abuse). As much as Overdrive's side effects include erratic, destructive behavior, I think Tanki's devs installed Overdrive to avoid a potentially worse (?) epidemic of Supply withdrawal sweeping across tankers. Regardless, the current epidemic of RK withdrawal reveals the grim state of hooked tankers.

As unpopular as the update was, these suggested tweaks are definitely a good step forward (out of 100) towards winning over the ANGRy players.

Undoubtedly (according to in-game stats), M3 Viking is the lightest and fastest Medium hull out there. Unfortunately, said Viking is also the least stable medium hull and will suffer somewhat from knockback more than Dictator and the like. Thus, Vulcan equipped with Viking is vulnerable to having its aim being thrown off by Rail, Smoky, Twins, etc. Then again, as annoying as suffering knockback is, there is always a way to live with such a weakness. For instance, one way for a Vulcan Viking to reduce a Twins' knockback is keepng a certain distance from Twins and avoiding a close quarters skirmish. Yes, it is a bit passive, but Vulcan just isn't good at CQC as other turrets are thanks to its firing mechanism (i.e. slower turret rotation when firing). And while pairing Vulcan with Hunter/Dictator does add stability and Height for vertical auto-aim, I'd argue that playing with Viking is an interesing learning challenge that can teach players about adapt and stick with a personal combo rather than throw them out for "better, meta" combos. Then again players don't have to take this totally pointless challenge, no? Your choice as always. Can't wait for another ad hominem statement, lel.

Just like in TX, where you don't have to buy supplies (but hey this is TO, and dev's WILL SELL Supplies) Or at least make the default supply prices cheaper, And maybe increase Mission supply rewards which will never happen.

If you're up for some advice, I invite you to read below. It is up to you, however, to take my advice or leave it.

I see...thanks for the tip!

So, Fresh, I have several questions about Vulcan. Have you tried the Vulcan alterations yet? If you have, what do you think of them? How well can Vulcan pair with Viking as opposed to Hunter, Dictator, Titan, and Mammoth? Personally, I am a bit attracted to the Modified Firing Rate Alteration. Despite the damage penalty, the alteration does allow Vulcan to fire for a few more crucial seconds before overheating. Yes, one can just slap Firebird Protection and keep using Stock Vulcan. But then again, slapping Firebird Protection with MFR can be incredibly more lethal...

No question about graphics. I've played Tanki X and I am impressed with the models. Hell, TX Vulcan actually looks like a real-life Vulcan with a circle-looking barrel that actually spins up, and the firing animation looks awesome too! That's not to say that TO Vulcan doesn't look awesome in its own right. It's too bad it has a hexagonal barrel, though, and when spinning up, it seems that the texture is spinning up, not the actual barrel itself. While you are right about graphics, let's not forget how impressionable the core gameplay and mechanics is too. Seeing how TO's dev's are happy towards change, TO's core gameplay keeps changing, for better or worse. Granted, adapting to change is always best for survival. However, as many disgruntled players will testify, accepting these many changes is sometimes conflicting. Perhaps too conflicting for some players to swallow and keep playing.

Weekend Giveaway with hot prizes and 1.5X Funds!
N3tralRE replied to theFiringHand in Contests Archive
Wait a second. Despite the giveaway rules stating that Golds will only be awarded to WO1 or higher players (a.k.a. Rank 11), how come the Excel Spreadsheet and the TO Wiki's special Giveaway page include Rank 10 and lower players who made it into the kill tiers? i.e. bobo14 managed to get 412 kills. It seems pointless to include these lower ranked players in the list since they are ineligible to receive their Gold rewards, right? -
No worries, you just have to wait within the next 24 hours.
