Yesterday, I was playing TDM on Brest. The opposing team had a Magnum player who had pin-point accuracy. He could lay a rocket on top of a tank every time. If there was a group of tanks, he'd lay a rocket on top the most centralized tank....take that one out and splash damage the others. Nobody was safe. To get as many tanks as he did, he had to make adjustments each time. Seemed there wasn't a corner of that map he couldn't hit. Here's a particular situation in question: Map: Brest Mode: TDM Teams: 10 players each Location: Top floor Blue Situation: Mammoth/Shaft was shooting the front of the opposing building with DD activated and full health. Viking/Railgun was shooting off the side with DD and DA activated with slight damage. Isida/Hornet was positioned between them with DA activated and full health. The opposing Magnum (positioned on the red top floor) laid a rocket on top of the Isida, destroying it and Viking and taking most of Mammoth's health. Question: How was the Magnum player able to tell right where the Isida was and would the splash damage be that powerful? (Side note: Reminds me of a post in Suggestions. An OP suggested drones with cameras. Suggestion was declined. This player didn't need a drone).

This sounds like it belongs in the forum games.

I've seen members of the same clan fill up both sides, with non-clan members mixed in. (Not to imply that the non-clan members are guilty, just caught up in a "scam" of sorts). When one team gets a good lead, the clan members will leave that team, causing the losing team to win and the winning team to lose. By the time the team fills up again, the other team has taken the lead and no hope to catch up. I'm not talking about clan wars, here, just ordinary battles. Obviously, this is pre-planned and executed according to plan. Why? Your guess is as good as mine, I suppose. To show power and brotherhood in a clan, maybe?

The projectile does not hit both simultaneously. It has to go through one before it hits the other. So, the first one explodes first, ending the battle. Example: Set 2 watermelons (or any other 2 identical objects) one in front of the other. Set a video camera so that it can view the melons side by side. Shoot a projectile through the first melon. The projectile will go through both, but not simultaneously. View the video in slow motion. You will see the first one explodes before the second. Now, set up 2 more melons the same as the first time. Only instead of shooting a projectile, set an exploding device between the melons. Stand off to a safe distance and hit the button (switch) causing the device to explode. In this instance, the two objects (melons) will explode simultaneously, providing the melons and explosive are in the same close proximity. In the case you have sited, the battle ends as soon as the first tank explodes. You will not get credit for the second kill since the battle has already ended.

Saw some in the store and played with the one on display. When I become fidgety, it ain't going to be one of those things I reach for. That's why I carry a Pet Rock.

New bugs discovered after the Critical Error was disabled
Widow-Maker replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
Good suggestion. I checked shockwave, it is enabled. I went to Adobe to check version. I have 25.0.0.148 which is the latest update and saw the animation they said to watch for. Since this is recent and you don't think it has anything to do with the latest TO update, then maybe I should take my computer to the Computer Emergency Room and have it checked out. I've done all I can think of from my end. I see others have had "Critical Errors" and Flash crashing, too. Thanks for your suggestions. I'll keep working on it. -
New bugs discovered after the Critical Error was disabled
Widow-Maker replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
As I said above, in the past 4 months, I've had no issues at all playing TO. The problems started a few days ago. Since I've had no issues I don't understand why I should download Standalone Flash Player. I have to latest version of Flash on all my browsers. I had the problems before I updated Flash and still have the problems. -
I thought this was going to be all about how grubs are healthy food full of proteins (actually, they are not worms, but beetle larva). Then you were going to tell us what other worms that could be substituted. I'm very disappointed, because I'm running out of grubs. Got any to spare?

New bugs discovered after the Critical Error was disabled
Widow-Maker replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
Within the past few days, I've been experiencing very bad lag (fps: 0... ping: 80 to 100 and both fluctuating), grainy graphics, sometimes on side of a building or ramp will be all black, Critical errors, Flash Player crashes (at least 3 per hour). What I've done: (1)...cleared all caches. (2)...cleared browser. (3)...Switched from Firefox to Edge to Chrome. (4)...checked for updates on drivers, browsers, flash player, Windows, and everything else I could think of. (5)...Increased global settings. (6)...Went into Tanki settings and made sure everything was disabled except in Game I have damage, drop zones, chat, notifications, background sound checked. In Graphics I have fps and ping checked. These are the only items I ever checked. (7)...Turned acceleration on and off (made no difference). (8)...Called my Cable Provider three times to have my equipment checked from their end. Everything is within acceptable parameters. (9)...Ran a full systems scan with my Antivirus twice. Clean as a whistle. (10)...Ran the troubleshooter (no issues). (11)...Deleted un-needed temp files. I had a computer with Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10 a few months after it came out. I had a lot of issues with TO, especially with fps and ping. I got rid of that computer and got a new gaming computer with twice the RAM and 1TB of hard drive and gaming graphics cards. I never had a problem playing TO with this new computer. Now, suddenly, I'm having the same issues I had on the old computer plus grainy graphics and black holes. I've had this new computer for 4 months. Since there hasn't been any problems playing TO with the new computer (until now), I shouldn't have to download the Stand alone player, nor download the Client. I'm still playing other massive multiplayer games without any issues, without any changes in game play. -
In 1975-1976 there was an American TV show called "Ellery Queen." Mr. Queen was a murder detective. A very popular program.

Occasionally, I'll enter a non-pro battle already in progress and will immediately be attacked by my team mates. Examples: Being pushed off the map, blocked, cornered, exposed to enemy fire when there is plenty of room behind a building, etc. This isn't from just one person, but from an entire team. In team chat, I'll ask "Why?" Sometimes I get an answer back, sometimes I don't. If I do, as what happened this morning, I was told I had the the wrong weapon, "Railgun only." I had Firebird. I noticed there was only one railgun, the rest were Hammers. The other team had a variety of weapons. My railgun is M0 with one MU. I don't own a Hammer. I looked at the team line up and didn't see that this was a clan. Can a non-pro battle team legally prevent you from playing? Is this still considered sabotage? How do you report an entire team? I did finally leave because game play became nearly impossible. It seems the whole team was on the look-out for me.

That's sad, very sad. You might as well not have a Police Force at all. Are you saying they can be the Executioners for the State, too? Like the Mafia? Third World Countries have it tough to begin with. To top it off, they don't have a Police Force that's there to help the people?

I was talking to another friend of mine, the other day. She has a problem sounding "sh" and comes out as "th." I won't mention the words here, but some come out sounding rather comical.

This opens up a whole can of worms for me. I've done some extensive research into this subject. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, only one with a curious mind. Putting volumes upon volumes into a peanut shell, these are the thoughts I have come up with: Theology: God made Adam and Eve. Would He have been so bold as to put life forms on only one planet? Evolution:Single celled Life forms (amebae, bacteria) wandered out of the water and evolved into other types of life. Why couldn't similar types of evolution have happened on other planets? Alien Life Form theory: We are the Aliens. We are an experiment conducted by another Alien Species. Which makes me think of our existence being started in a test tube. In answer to OP's question: I think it would be scarier to think we are the only beings in the Universe.

Debunking the Milk Myth - Why Milk is Actually Bad for you

Your didn't offend me, not at all. I thought you were on some type of crusade to ban milk by citing how unhealthy it is. -
The "no kill" rule is fine with me. I'm rarely one of those who gets the GB. I usually use that time to capture a flag or two, or capture points in CP mode. Then I go to the pile and start killing. In DM, I'll set myself away from the pile and try to score some kill points.

With the objects on my left, I will survive WW3. These objects are: The entertainment center with a 32 inch, flat screen TV. On the floor is a jumbo plastic jar of white chocolate covered sugar cookies, a six pack of Vienna Sausages and my dog's water bowl. Yep, I'm already for the WW3 apocalypse. Bring it on!!

Hey! You're right. I hadn't thought of that.

Tongue twisting English words
Widow-Maker replied to Widow-Maker in Tongue twisting English words Archive
There are many words in the English language that seem to make our mouths and tongues do high level calisthenics. What are your tongue twister words? My nemesis is "tourist." I pronounce it "Turist" Somehow, I just can't seem to get everything going in the right direction all at once. My Dad had trouble with "ridiculous." He pronounced it "redicalus." When he didn't agree with something, he say, "That is absolutely redicalus." It always made me chuckle. A dear friend of mine had trouble with "ask." It always came out "ax." He'd say, "I don't know, why don't you ax him?" So, what words are troublesome to you? Please try to keep it as clean as possible. -
I'm confused. What type of "dream" are you talking about? I dreamed I was being chased by monsters? Or My dream house/vacation/car? Or maybe I dream (as in daydream) about being filthy rich and what I would do with that money? Or Something I think about/wish for quite often, but know I will never achieve it.

Debunking the Milk Myth - Why Milk is Actually Bad for you
Widow-Maker replied to Boeing_787 in Archive
Milk also contains potassium, which helps regulate the calcium in your body. Too much calcium? Potassium closes the gate and the extra calcium leaves the body. Not enough calcium? Potassium opens the gate and says "Let's Party." Of course, Potassium has other functions, as well, such as helping to regulate your blood pressure and prevents osteoporosis. Don't forget about Vitamin D. It helps with the absorption of calcium into the bones. What good is calcium to the bones if it just sits there and stares at the bones? Vitamin D is the life of the party. It has all the goodys to attract calcium and encourages it to mingle (with bone). Vitamin D was added to milk around the 1920's because rickets had affected thousands of children and Vitamin D helped to absorb calcium into the bones. What was the best way and fastest way to get Vitamin D into children? Since children already drank milk then that was the most logical solution. Now rickets is very rare in countries that sell vitamin D enriched milk. Very few foods contain and Vitamin D and those that do, doesn't have enough to do any good. Then there is Phosphorus. Calcium and Phosphorus are good buddies. Phosphorus gives Calcium the strength it needs to keep on partying. Phosphorus is also needed to help build and structure teeth as well as it's healing powers. The biggest downfall of milk is it's fat content. Solution? Drink reduced fat milk. Personally, I prefer 2% milk, but I use whole milk in cooking. It gives food a richer taste and most of the fat is burned off anyway. OP: How much research (ie: homework) did you do before posting? Before stating facts, first get your facts straight. . -
If a name isn't accepted, it just means you have to be more creative, think outside the box. I tried to make up an account, but the name had already been in use. So, I went to the English-Latin online translator and got the Latin translation of the name. It was accepted. Actually, "America" isn't really very creative. But if you must have the name, try spelling it sdrawkcab. ^_^ or put a hyphen in it some place. Like "Ame-rica"
