Beyond Battles: The War

Hello, and welcome! Were you excited by reading the announcement of an all-new event for the community? If so, you already probably know what «War» is and what's it all about. However, if you still haven't gotten the hang of it, do not worry and read on below! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The War: Definition According to the standard definition supplied by the Administration, the War is a global event in which four communities - namely English, Russian, German and Polish - will battle it out for supremacy over the areas of a fictional world (hereinafter called as World). In a nutshell, all the teams will have to complete their strategic goals and maintain a high kill/death ratio after voting for two areas to attack and one to defend in the said world. While performing these objectives, they will not only have to work together as a community, but also display high standards of teamwork, co-ordination, skills and control over the strategic element of the event. The War: Factions and Paints Before voting for areas in the World, or most importantly, joining a faction, the players must pick one of the four available paints in the Garage, which are as follows: The paints shown above are for the English, Russian, German and Polish communities respectively, and cost the same amount of crystals (100 ). The War: Resources Participating teams in the War not only have to reach kill goals and maintain a high kill/death ratio, but also gather ten of each resource, Survey Data and Rocket Fuel. Essentially, there are two ways to earn resources: Firstly, all teams will earn one of each resource from their Capitals every turn. Secondly, teams can capture areas on the map which hold Survey Data Centers and Rocket Fuel Factories, and also get one of each resource, every turn. Remember, you need to obtain at least ten of each resource before you hold the Nuclear Rocket successfully and win the game. You can attack the region before fulfilling the quota, but then your team has to hold it for one more turn after obtaining the resources. The War: Components In the War, a lot of terminology exists as part of the event, and understanding these is highly important if you're willing to participate and have hopes of winning together as a faction. Capitals () are where the magic happens. These are special regions on the map from which you start together as the faction and work towards the Nuclear Rocket (), the region which you have to capture in order to win. Capitals not only are the starting point of each team, they are also producers of 1x Survey Data () and Rocket Fuel () for your team every turn. This means if your team gets to turn six, it'll have obtained 6x of each resource from the Capital itself. Don't forget, Capitals can be seized by other teams, so make sure your faction represents itself with a relatively high kill to death ratio! Some of the regions in the map hold Factories () and Data Centers (), which provide Rocket Fuel and Survey Data for your team respectively. These can be attacked and defended (only if your team holds it) at any time, even if they are held by the enemy team. Remember, you have to obtain at least 10x of each resource in order to hold the Rocket region, plus the fact that you have to hold it for one whole turn. This gives all teams the chance of maximizing their profit from event by going for Bonuses () and Great Bonuses () - which grant you 10x and 20x Containers respectively. Furthermore, attacking and defending by any team in the War is symbolized as follows: Attack --- Defend --- The War: Phases and Scenarios Being a turn-based event, the War progresses with two major phases - Strategy and Battle Phase; with the latter having two applicable scenarios, «Breach» and «Destruction». Strategy Phase is the first phase of every turn, in which all the team have to vote for regions to attack and defend on the map and confirm their votes by killing two hundred people. Note that you can vote for two regions to attack and one to defend, but you only need to make the kills once, not twice. This phase lasts for a whole day (twenty four hours) and must be strategically driven by the team. Any wrong vote can put the team out of the War and their loss becomes inevitable. Battle Phase is the second phase, which comes into play right after the Strategy Phase ends. In this phase, the team must fulfill the global kills counter as a faction (the green bar, as shown below) and maintain a high kill/death ratio as it's doing it. This phase also lasts for twenty four hours, and can depend on the following scenarios: «Breach» is when the region which is being attacked is not being attacked by another team and is completely free to take. In this scenario, you do not need to worry about K/D, you only need to fulfill the kills goal. «Destruction» is when the region which is being attacked by a team is being attacked by another team (or other teams), or is held by another team after it attacked it previously. In this scenario, maintaining a high K/D is of the utmost importance as it will decide the result of the attack, that whether your team won the region or lost. The War: Rewards Rewards are, well, the most important thing people go and fight for, and honestly, the developers haven't disappointed us with the rewards being awarded in the War. First of all, regardless of whether the faction has won the War or not, all players who participated in the War and completed their turns will receive 3x Containers per completed turn. Attacks on Bonus territories grant the team 10x Containers, while Great Bonus regions grant 20x Containers. These are added into the rewards of the whole faction to win and enjoy. However, remember to confirm your votes by completing two hundred kills! If you don't you'll not receive the Containers. Players of the winning faction in the War will receive a special, unique animated paint (only if the person in the winning faction has contributed their vote for at least five completed turns) and three additional Containers for each completed turn, meaning six per turn in total, but not exceeding the overall number of 100x Container at the end of the event. And the best part — all tankers of the winning faction will enter a giveaway for a Dream Tank (unless the player had less than five complete turns)! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ So there it is, an all-out review and guide to the phenomena currently taking over the game by storm. What do you think about this event? Do you have any suggestions you think would make the event more interesting or even better, more fruitful? If so, please do comment your opinions down below! For the current standings and positions of teams, have a look below. Once the event is over, the results will be posted in this topic, here. Play your battles, get those kills and carry on warring, peace!

    Scrutinized: The Previous Updates

Tankers! Gather around as we discuss some of the most important updates that rolled out in the previous months, including the new indicators, mode changes and much more. So without any further ado, let's jump right in. New Indicators! Not so long ago, on February 23, 2018, the developers updated the interface of the game to make it more appropriate and modern-looking, specifically paying attention to the notifications' log and the occurrence messages that appeared on the top-right and top-center of the screen specifically. In an effort to not only make them more modern, the icons were updated in order to fit in with the rest of the game's components, like very futuristic design of the flag, or the design of the turrets. One of the changes included the re-designing of the turret symbols, which can be found below. Note that the modules - as of yet - still display the old symbols, and might/might not be updated in the near future. KILLFEED INDICATORS [/th] ICON PURPOSE/MEANING Firebird Freeze Isida Hammer Smoky Twins Ricochet Striker Vulcan Thunder Railgun Magnum Shaft Self-destruction Mine Similarly, the battle messages (like for example, "Tanker233 has captured the flag", "Tanker929 has dropped the flag" and etc.) were removed from their position and changed into a new set of icons. In DMs and TDMs, there is no sole objective, and hence, no special symbols were made entirely for them - they only show the turret and players' actions icons. In CTF, CP, ASL and RGB, objectives do exist, each one having its own icon, which are as follows: OBJECTIVE INDICATORS ICON PURPOSE/MEANING Blue team has returned their flag Red team has captured the flag Red team has dropped the flag Red team has picked up the flag Red team has returned their flag Blue team has captured the flag Blue team has dropped the flag Blue team has picked up the flag Blue > Neutral Red > Neutral Neutral > Blue Neutral > Red Red team has successfully captured the flag Red team has dropped the flag Player has scored a touchdown Player has lost the ball Player has picked up the ball Player has passed the ball Last but not least, players' actions and interactions were also shown by a message in the notifications' log. To reduce the area of the screen it would take for the message to show, these were also replaced by their own special icons. This is how they look like: PLAYERS' ACTIONS INDICATORS [th] ICON PURPOSE/MEANING Player has joined the battle Player has left the battle Player has changed equipment Player has self-destructed Player has taken the Gold Box Stadium «Rugby» Rugby mode was introduced to Pro Battles by adding it into one of the many selective battle modes options for the Stadium map. Befitting the style and name of the mode, Stadium can provide very interesting and intense rounds of both, fun gameplay and combat for players. Mode Updates To help tankers maintain their focus on the ball in Rugby mode, the developers dished out another update which bought animation changes to the ball. These were as follows: When the ball is caught, it will spin above the tank, making it easier for one to notice that they've picked up the ball; When the ball is passed, it will also spin while in the air, making the passes look more realistic. Moreover, Assault mode received the following balance changes: Red Team will now earn five points for delivering the flag; When the flag is dropped, the wait time until it’s returned will be shortened. Bug Fixes Only one bug fix was made this month, one which was very necessary to fry and remove as soon as possible, mainly because it was very game-breaking and reducing the progression of battles. Yes, the flag glitch. It happened where one person could literally spawn with the enemy flag, right in their very own base! It has now been dealt with and will probably be never seen again in the game. Other Changes Volume of Turret RotationThe sound of the volume when rotating a turret was significantly lowered, maybe because it was too loud for people to constantly listen throughout a game. It was very distracting and sometimes even painful to listen to it forcefully when playing the game for extended period of time. Changes in KungurCertain areas in the Blue base, especially the houses in the backside, were tactically repositioned in order to maintain balance throughout the map. It was done due to the fact that the Red base had almost no hiding spots that would also provide versatility and ease of positioning. "War" Chat ChannelA new chat channel was added into the Communicator, under the name of "War" for the sole reason of providing factions an easier and alternative method of communication within and with each other. This only remained till the duration of the War, and was removed right after. Disabling of Battle MessagesSome battle messages and notifications that appeared in the middle of the screen were removed because they were cluttering and distracting, and simply because of the need of a more modern look. This has been already aforementioned in the article. So that's what has been happening around in the game lately. Of course, these were important updates and changes whose feedback originated from a wide spectrum. Some of them were highly criticized, but some were deemed incredibly useful and a great addition to the game. What do you think? Your opinions matter the most, so make sure you post your thoughts below. Till then, see you in the battlefield!

What to buy? Which is better?

Without a DD, maybe. With a DD, you'll kill the person in less then half of the bar.
