This is an issue caused by Google play taking hours to update it's database. It is easily fixed by going into Google Play's app info and choosing 'Force Stop' then opening the Play Store again: Make sure there are no updates/installations occurring while you do this. This could look different on your device due to your Android version. @DieselPlatinum seems you are having this issue too.
