Now that drugs are everywhere and everyone drugs, it's not the reload that's the problem but rather how long your hull lasts against double damage.

I use Wasp M1 and admit that I find it difficult to handle, especially on nitro. I bump into EVERYTHING. I also think Hornet accelerates faster than Wasp but don't have numbers handy to back this up.

Yet another upgrade question :) I made Lt. Colonel rank and have enough crystals to buy M2 Viking. I have not bought it yet... I am waiting for a sale or a really good kit. The Winter paint on the Northerner kit just doesn't do it, nor does the smoky turret. What I just noticed is that M2 Viking is only good for about four ranks and then M3 unlocks. If Raiden or another good M3 kit comes back around those unlock at Brigadier, which shortens M2 Viking to only two ranks. It's looking less and less like I will be spending that 99k crystals on M2 Viking. I also checked kit pricing. It's good. M3 kits are only charging the M3 mod upgrade price whether or not you already have the M2, and then cutting a % discount off of that. That means is I can skip M2 completely and buy a M3 kit at a discount. That also means my M1 Viking has to last until at least Brigadier o-O. That's going to be rough but I already MU'd the heck out of that M1 in the birthday sale, so if I toss a few more crystals into it's armor I hope the slaughter won't be too bad. What do you think? Have other folks skipped mod levels this way, particularly this narrow band of M2 Viking life?

I see a lot of posts suggesting changes. Many VLogs ago, Tanki announced that there would be no more updates to the flash version of Tanki and that the devs were focusing on the new version of the game. In other words, don't expect many or even any further development or refinement of missions.

Thunder with double damage on crowded death match maps. Total carnage, top of the leaderboard, and heaps of battle fund crystals. Or just do your daily missions since those generally outweigh battle funds... :/
-
You can lead by example... Use your free daily change to swap out these collect box missions when you get them. Do not play them even for crystals. I don't play them either.
-
Agree +1 that missions make you play on maps and modes I normally wouldn't. This is a good thing.

DAY 3 My observations and recommendations for the community. RIP Battle Fund. With my focus on missions, I (and I expect others) am more concerned with the mission goal. Since mission rewards in crystals are usually significantly higher than he battle fund, there's no reason to finish a battle... unless you are at the top of the leaderboard (on winning teams). There is just no reason (read reward) to finish battles. Druggers are rampant. Two reasons... 1- folks are desperate to reach their mission goals fast, so experience and leaderboard missions make players drug like crazy in hopes of assuring they can reach those goals in as few battles as possible. It's just the new normal, especially on maps which are mentioned explicitly in missions. As others have pointed out, it is very possible to accomplish 2 and sometimes three missions in a single battle. Capture boxes, earn experience on map, earn experience in MODE... Could all happen in a few minutes on a carefully chosen battle. Many other examples of this, but of course not all missions are this parallel. Daily Gifts are GONE. I agree that players should have the option to keep getting gifts, at the expense of missions. One or the other but not both. Missions are TOO REWARDING. I tend to agree that the return on investment here is almost too good to be true, but do NOT want to look a gift horse in the mouth. Folks, we may be in a bait period where Tanki is sweetening the pot in order to drum up player numbers and hook people on the new format. Either way ENJOY THIS WHILE IT LASTS. Tanki could at any time decide that missions have thrown the game out of balance and NERF the rewards. I hope this does not happen, but if history is any teacher... Mission rewards will lead to super druggers... Yes... If we aren't there already we're soon to have a game in which everyone has plenty of supplies. There's no reason not to use them as soon as you spawn since you'll get a healthy restock with your next missions. Mission rewards will damage game ECONOMY. This is my BIGGEST FEAR. What are players going to do with this sudden torrent of free crystals? Why they are going to spend them. On MUs! On kits! On paints! On higher Mod weapons and hulls. Stuff that had been out of their price range is suddenly very affordable. Non-buyers will be almost as powerful as buyers. If the devs realize this, expect to see prices for everything go up. Inflation city. Missions are too easy. I do not agree. I think the missions are right sized for the expectation that players are online for one to two hours a day. Any more than that and the game becomes unplayable for most users. Player behavior changes. Big topic. My biggest change has been looking for battles with fewer players / less competition to satisfy the "finish first" mission. Never entered hear before since the battle fund was always too small. Again, the battle fund has become largely irrelevant. The "pick up supply box" mission is a bad idea. I agree. Players on this mission confuse and ruin whatever battle they enter. It's a pretty easy mission, but a pointless one. Should be replaced with a mission that furthers the game or at least the battle. People now leave battles early. Disagree with this. This was a problem before missions. I've been on countless battles where the losing team has bailed leaving lots of time on the clock and nothing to do but wait. An update is needed for this, but it has nothing to do with missions. On the contrary the "finish first in a battle" mission actually discourages players from leaving battles. Finishing first on a losing team fulfills the mission and is much easier to do than finishing first on the winning team. Either way, this mission encourages team play (more team battles now) and vicious play at that for the sake of topping the leaderboard. Good think... Like this. Map specific missions have reintroduced less common maps like Kungur. Yes, good. Should these expand to other rare maps? Need to be careful here since too many different map missions will make achieving the goal more difficult since few players on a given server will have he same map mission. As long as they rotate a few maps at a time through the daily missions, should be fine. Missions are too hard with multiple accounts. Agree. I have three accounts... I can usually only complete missions for two of those accounts in a given day. Bummer, but honestly three accounts is more of a chore than fun anyway. Furthermore, I think this is intentional. I also think that those who have decried this update as having no focus on addressing mults are being very short sighted. This update DOES address mults... To keep mult accounts relevant, they must also play missions, which means they PLAY. Gold box mission. Because gold box is not enough of a reward :/. Agree that this could be replaced with something which again furthers the battle and game. CTF battles are ruined. Maybe... I haven't really seen this, but if supply capture mission or kill mission players become a problem those missions could be further restricted to death match battles. Finally what has this really done to the game? Philosophical discussion du jour. My thought is this... Most people myself included are probably still playing with the mindset that this will get us further in the game and get us that dream tank and dream rank faster. What I'm not sure we've thought of is the assumption that we are then going to take that dream tank and munch metal in traditional Tanki. The problem is that there is no Traditional Tanki. Sooner or later, EVERYONE will have their dream tank and it will be just as hard for you to kill them as it is today. Make no mistake folks. Tanki is a zero sum game. Always has been. Always will be. Every reward and upgrade you get is countered by the same from other players. These missions seem great, but remember that everyone is getting the same supplies and crystal flood that you are. Most importantly, have fun! This has spiced up the game, which was desperately needed.

Thunder is forced into a mid range gun by being damage reduced at long range and self damaging in close quarters. I'm playing with an M0 in a WO2 account and it requires double damage drugging to be effective. Of course at that level I'm one-shooting every Wasp and Hornet in sight, which is really upsetting those players. At some point I'm going to run out of drugs.
-
I have M1 fire AND M1 freeze. Played using both last night. Death match games. Using freeze, I finished third from the bottom. Using fire, I finished second from the top. That's an out of balance situation.
-
Agreed. I'm not paying the full 99k crys for the M2. September is a long way away, so unless a kit comes along I'll be playing on my alternate account. I need to stock this account back up on daily bonus drugs anyway.
-
Thanks... I am going to try hunter on an alt account. Was pairing that with Thunder but since that got nerfed I'll probably sell out and play with the new OP Twins. Sigh.
-
Most team battles are little more than free for all. Very little teamwork... Usually limited to getting out of the way when someone has the flag. I've read a lot about tanki team strategy. I rarely see it demonstrated. Coordinated attacks (more than two tanks!), mid fielding... Not happening. It's every man for himself. I've seen countless opportunities for teams to win had they just actually worked as a team. Defense strategy, fast tanks on capture duty with a few heavies providing cover. Simple stuff.

I'm noticing the mild Rico nerf. I used to snag first or second in nearly every battle. Now I still can finish first but have to drug a bit... Otherwise I am usually second or third. Cry me a river, right? I'll live. I'll adjust, and I'll end up being a better Rico player... Can't waste balls anymore... Have to make every hit count... Have to exploit bounce more... Have to hide while I recharge... Have to avoid tanks with the new OP turrets (twins, fire)... Have to look for tanks already suffering battle damage. Have to drug when going for a flag guarded by more than two tanks. And so on.
-
I can do that with RicoViking at much lower ranks. Rico M2 Viking M1 (M2 in a matter of days)
-
SANDSTONE good rail and thunder with up to 8% twins. Buy Dragon for the occasional Rico infested battle.if twins really bothers you and Sandstone doesn't give you enough protection get the twins only paint... I forget what that one is called but I am considering it and a firebird only paint. twins and Firebird rule the world since the early July 2015 rebalance
-
Vulcan was everywhere for the first day or so, then it disappeared. I never understood why. Then I experienced my first rebalance. Vulcan is only effective when you catch your enemy in open ground. It takes far too long to do damage. If there is cover close by, the enemy tank can usually make it out from your fire. Compared to rail, shaft, and Isida which inexplicably shoot THROUGH walls.
-
Main is Sandstone... Great paint hurt a bit by this rebalance as I don't see so many thunders now. Rail prot is still good and Twins prot is nice but needs to be higher. I also keep dragon on hand for when I drop into a nest of ricos With the Rebalance I need a good Fire prot paint.
-
Peter, Viking will serve you better in death matches. Hornet is better for CTF, although Viking can and does play an important support and defense role. You'll get more flags with hornet though.
-
I know the last thing the game needs right now is another M3 Viking kit but does anyone know if there is one with M3 Rico?
-
REBALANCE!!! Rico got a mild nerf... Very low percentage decrease to both damage and impact force. My initial reaction was to overreact. Rico is my fave turret. I've spent many crystals on mods and MUs. I was frustrated to the point of quitting. Then I got some perspective. Rico has received nothing but buffs for several changes now, most recently the fire rate increase. Most players recognize it as OP at every mod. A nerf was inevitable. I played a few games with it and didn't really notice a difference. It could have been a LOT worse.
-
These guys... Hornet does not react well to ricochet rounds. Between the weapon's own kickback AND the impact force of MY Rico rounds hitting them... THESE GUYS end up at a 45 degree angle with their nose in the air pumping round after round into the pale blue sky. Looks kinda like dancing. It's just beautiful to watch.

I'm at Major halfway to Lt Colonel. M2 Viking here I come. Only question is whether I buy now or wait for September sale. A good kit might make the matter academic.
-
Having a high DL in a capture the flag is not noobish... That's someone seriously supporting the team by knocking out or distracting enough enemies for (usually) faster tanks to make captures. I do this a lot with Viking.

Poll needs update to add Vulcan or new poll.
