    Let's Discuss Product Kits

Raiden! Awesome. I can afford it, but I don't have the rank. Am only about 25% through Colonel. I don't think I am going to make it before Raiden expires :(

I've shelved my alts to speed my progress from Colonel to Brigadier. Heloooooo M3 Viking kits! Hoping for Raiden! ;)

    Let's Discuss Ricochet!

Ya think? The question was which is more appropriate for Rico. I stand by my answer... Titan. Rico is great but it does take TIME to finish off an opponent. Time that your poor Wasp just won't always have.

    Let's Discuss Twins!

Agreed... I hear you on the powerful combo of mammy and twins with drugs. But I don't follow that being an absolute dominant while camping on Polygon CP. All it takes even at close range is a couple of firebirds to toast his marshmallows. And if he's really camping on the capture point that tells me the opposing team did not have their act together. The single point in that map is a convergence zone... No one lasts more than ten or twenty seconds there. I believe you on the score discrepancy, but can only conclude that the opposing team was afraid of him, resulting in lone wolf approaches which obviously won't work against a heavy hull on drugs. That's not how to play CP.

    Let's Discuss Twins!

Same when attacked from behind with Fire, Freeze, and Isida. Any continuous fire weapon kills before a turret rotates a full 180

I use and recommend Sandstone, but it does not have the Fire prot you need.

    Let's Discuss Product Kits

I saw a Medic kit yesterday in a EN3 Kungur server battle... The rank range went from Brigadier all the way down into the WO range. The Medic also drugged like a beast and thus completely DOMINATED the red flag platform. I watched this guy drain and destroy a dozen or more enemies, who were attaching three or four at a time. My M2 Rico could not do enough damage to get through his M3 armor, even when he wasn't on armor drugs. I had several run ins with the Medic... Managed to destroy him twice, probably after other tanks had weakened him. He killed me at least six or seven times. I'm guessing that Medic kit is balanced upwards of the General ranks, but in this battle OP doesn't begin to describe the 4x inequity I witnessed. Makes me want to hurry up and rank to Brigadier and get me some of that M3 Viking kit goodness. Won't be in time for Medic though as I JUST ranked to Colonel on Saturday :( Edit: General observation... Since there are more turrets than hulls you are better served in terms of odds that your desired hull will make a kit appearance than your desired turret. I know this is face palm advice but folks should plan their kit purchases based on hulls. You're more likely to get your wish.

    Let's Discuss Twins!

Can't agree with this. Sure taking Twins onto Berlin or Düsseldorf is not wise, but any short map or a map with decent cover ensures close range combat. Put twins in a medium hull and you're sure to survive Rail and Thunder attacks long enough to do them in. Especially when noobs try to snuggle.

    When noobs annoy you

I'm increasingly frustrated by playing on my WO3 alts. I remember thinking when this account made WO that the game was getting serious. Not so much. I'm sure it's my Colonel's perspective and experience, but the WO players seem like a hot mess. Disorganized, aimless, and short-sighted. I won't say I doninate them... I don't - after all my tank is no more powerful than theirs, but my ability to predict their behavior does tend to put me on the high side of the leaderboard. Then there are the noobs... I see a lot of what I call tank jam - basically a tank version of a traffic or logjam... Four to as many as eight or ten tanks all smashed together so that no one can move. Of course everyone is firing and since half of the turrets are fire, visibility drops to zero. This is usually about when Flash crashes

    Ideas for Turrets!

This could be Isida's counterpart. Electrocute the enemy tank. Damage is higher than Isida but you have to touch the enemy tank... Or maybe be within a few meters. None of this energy whip around the sides of buildings nonsense. Also Death blossom - shoot every tank within range, or shoot randomly and hope for hits! Hellooooo Flash crashes ;) And The aforementioned grenade launcher.... Pressing the space at switches to an aerial top down view with shaft like crosshairs. Releasing the spacebar fires the grenade ballistic style. You need timing and prediction since the shot takes time to complete the arc. LONG reload time, significant splash damage, medium to high direct hit damage. Edit-must have an unobstructed ballistic arc... Any buildings in the way and your shot is disabled.

    Let's Discuss Twins!

The impact of Twins (Vulcan too for that matter) in addition to the turret's other characteristics make it kinda OP IMO. Even with a medium hull, tanks in the receiving end struggle just to course correct much less get their own shot off.

    Let's Discuss Paints!

Used to be that one needed protection from Rail, then Thunder, then Ricochet. Now it's Fire, then Rail, then Twins or Smoky, which has made a comeback, especially at mid to upper mid ranks (M2). Buying expensive paints to counter every rebalance is a waste of crystals... I usually recommend buying the cheapest paint which gets you the basic protection from a given turret. This usually works but not for Firebird. Marine paint is a joke... I'm going to experiment with Storm and Loam to see if they are effective. Polygon is crawling with Firebirds so anyone going there needs to be ready.

    Let's Discuss Ricochet!

It's definitely a problem... I don't think I have ever seen that combo in the wild. I am also sure that with practice you could and will learn to handle it. You are probably better off putting Rico on Titan but you will need to MU turret rotation. Then again you are probably better off using Rico with a faster more stable hull like Hornet, Hunter, or Viking. Rico is a beast when handled properly.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

I have a couple of alts, one of which is a Thunder-Hunter rig which I swap out with Twins. WO4. I think what bothers me about Thunder is the inability to finish off the enemy in a "single" attack. I mean the complete offensive volley before you turn it over to your opponent to do their worst. For 'clip' based weapons like Hammer, Ricochet, Firebird, etc... This is the total yield before you have to stop and reload. I love Thunder on damage drugs. One shot city. But the weapon is mostly useless without them.... You end up giving team mates (if you are lucky) and death match competitors (otherwise) easy kills without getting much of the credit or the kill count for yourself. Disappointing. Back to the single attack theory... Thus my shift to Twins... You can keep firing until you kill or are killed. Range and low dam per sec are all that keeps this turret in check. Other turrets like Vulcan do well in this area too.... Firebird is king right now. These are turrets which do damage at different speeds BUT do that damage CONTINUOUSLY giving the opponent little opportunity to retaliate.... Most victim tanks usually attempt an unsuccessful retreat. Bottom line... Turrets with long reload times will become less and less appealing as tankers get sick of getting toasted, drained. or frozen while they wait in frustration for their slow weapon to recharge.

Definitely possible... I don't know a lot about hacking and cheating, and I'm okay with that.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Twins. No worries about reload and very good damage and impact force at close range.

    When noobs annoy you

Someone posted that a beginner should be called a newbie A noob is someone who acts like a beginner but shouldn't based on their rank. For instance I played a Lt Colonel game last night with a wasp rail who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Shot the floor, walls, buildings... Everything that WASNT me. No excuse for utter ineptitude at that rank.... So that's a noob. BUT what I suspect was really going on... That guy was probably a pro at another turret and is just now experimenting with rail after the 50% StarSeries sale.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

I agree... Reload time should have been reduced in proportion to damage. I wonder though if this would have made it too similar to Hammer.

    Ideas for Turrets!

Blaster - a laser gun Shoots with a rate of fire comparable to Ricochet but does 20-30% LESS damage. Damage does not decrease with distance. No auto-aim. The SELL - Penetration power is 80-90%. This means two to three tanks lined up all get significant damage. This makes the turret effective but not OP since the lower damage per shot is balanced with the opportunity to damage multiple tanks. Unlike Freeze and Firebird, this turret has a long range option. And you could always attach a cool Star Wars sounding blaster effect.... :)
