Purchasing kits...how tough was the decision?
austen_pierce replied to Epic_Space_Mango18 in Archive
I've seen this too - ridiculously low damage numbers out of M3+ turrets. Combination of -distance -double armor on the target -protection module on the target Mostly it's the distance. I get this for some turrets. Others not so much. Sure limit the range of Twins, Isida, Fire, and Freeze. But limiting Thunder, Smoky, And Vulcan? At half the width of Polygon? Really??? Heavy ordinance can't cross more than fifty meters??? And Rail has infinite range??? Um, it's a projectile too; arguably one with lower damage potential. But I give up trying to make sense of Tanki physics. -
...when you log on to discover that the game has changed drastically with no forewarning

Remember how long it took them to fix kits after the paint disintegration? "Poorly thought through" in evidence. "However, this is a step in the direction of simplifying the game for new users, as well as working towards the goal of eliminating mults and saboteurs by randomizing access to regular battles" LOL now Pro battles will be the only ones with mults and saboteurs. Counterintuitive much??? Sorry to flood - but I now need a PRO to host Drop The Gold or related events??? I'm with Seraphina on this one - GGWP

So there are plenty of people in the game who have no idea what just happened. Server chat today is borderline hysterical-depressing to read. I feel bad for them and moreover for the entire player community. I'm not done with the game but I'm definitely getting pretty jaded by the "today we sell bread, today you buy bread" approach the management of this game takes toward its players/customers. I'm sure I'll deal with it and keep playing. Because... This is a very thrilling game. It can be tremendous fun when you win and maddeningly frustrating when you lose. Since there are always upgrades available, the designers have done a fantastic job of leading us sheep to believe that if we just pump a little or a lot more real money into the game, we'll win more than we will lose. Don't believe it. I've dropped nearly a grand in USD into this game. I've bought a full garage and sunk a mint into MUs. In response the management has chosen to nerf the equipment I paid for and now with the shift to Pro wil make M4s meaningless since MUs will be off for most battles. I've seen years of players building up their perfect rig only to have an unannounced update waste that investment. Myself included (RIP Viking M4). What continues to confound me is that management doesn't understand that players don't like this. We don't like having what we have worked hard and/or paid for taken away or made ineffective. To the game managers and designers- please continue making the game more complex and interesting for players who advance through the ranks. Please STOP removing features, reducing equipment stats, and changing free features to paid ones.

Wait and see? This is what I see! 50+ pro battles 5 regular battles    In the past I have avoided using the "Pay To Play / Pay To Win" language, although the game has been moving toward P2W for a while. Buyers have had the flexibility of more XP&crys, faster rankups, costomized pro battles, faster upgrades, deeper garages, and can afford to buy the alteration options. But that is an old story. This update is the first to significantly push the game toward Pay To Play. Even if the cost of the PRO pass is in crystals, we must now sacrifice our in game earnings back into the game in order to keep playing. "Free players will still be able to play using the Battle button" - sure if you only want to participate in 10% of the battles on the server, none of which help you with your daily missions? Missions are my biggest concern - I am very concerned that the "Finish first in a battle" and "Earn XP on Map" Missions will become difficult to impossible without the ability for free players to create battles on those maps. I'm sure it's no secret that the "Finish First" mission is 'life-hacked' by most players by creating 1-1 battles on tiny maps like Island and Arena. Have a Pro pass?-great. Don't have one? Good luck finishing missions. Confession - I'm a buyer. I've been happy to put money into this game. I am not happy that I now MUST buy a PRO pass to play the same way I played yesterday. "Making the game simpler"? Then implement this for the first few ranks but keep the high ranks as they were. Please understand that 'simplifying' the game for high ranks will bore experienced players into seeking their fun elsewhere. Those players (myself included) want more options not less. We've put months if not years into this game - that loyalty needs to be recognized, not punished.

Purchasing kits...how tough was the decision?

^ I hear you and agree with the ultimate savings achieved by buying a kit during a paint sale. On the other hand, planning a purchase like that is maddeningly difficult - there may be no sale and/or the kit you want might not be in the garage during the sale. To the other point/poster - kits give you the early unlock advantage, which is most important at M3. Timing of sales becomes critical - if you'll rank up before the sale, again consider buying on sale at unlock ranks. Tankers, early unlock of equipment is not a good reason to buy kits. It's a temporary advantage and really doesn't make enough difference in the long run to warrant the crystal investment. -
Purchasing kits...how tough was the decision?

I was a regular kit buyer before the paint-protection separation. I bought Jackhammer and Redneck on my main. On alts, I bought Firewall, Minotaur, Stinger, Vampire, and Predator. Saving crystals for kits was harder at lower ranks. Easier at mid and higher ranks. I also played through the introduction of Missions which gave generous rewards - for a little while. Now that kits include paints, I would generally agree with Mafioso and advise against kits. However if the module included is absolutely perfect and the kit discount is good enough to make up for the useless paint (we'd be talking deep discounts) maybe still a good idea, but be very cautious on what you are getting for those crystals and what can you buy individually on a good sale. No, the arcade mode damage of M3+ Shaft is extremely low compared to M3+ hull armor. Shaft's only hope in DM is getting enough time to power up to full charge in sniper mode before getting burnt, frozen, railed, or hammered. Then you have to consider drugging. No way does a Shaft get in two full power sniper shots before the Vulcan destroys him, not even with repair kits.

When that douchebag in Island CTF would rather spawn-kill you at 9/10 than cap that last flag.

I've called every local retailer on the paysafe locator site. None of them carry this card. I need more prepaid options. UPDATE- found one, Bought one, worked in the shop Let the gold box rains begin...

Problem is my Hornet was already at top speed WITH nitro. The Viking was at rest and then REVERSED just as fast as I was going toward the enemy base. I haven't used my Hornet since :(

I don't own Hohloma, but yes, that's a very pretty paint.

I'm open to suggestions but... errrm... at 1st Lieutenant, what would you know about Shaft usage at Gissmo? The Shaft users I see are generally pummeled by more mobile rigs or bored to death in some obscure corner. Yes, maps make a difference. I've seen Shaft do well on Rio and of course Highways and Brest as well as Monte Carlo, but nowhere near the kills per minute I've gotten with Vulcan on Poly CP.

Epic God of a turret. The Only one seemingly unaffected by the rebalance. Not many protection modules on enemy tanks due to rampant Freeze, Fire, and Thunder/Smoky usage, so Vulcan generally rules unchecked. With supply cooldowns shortened, you can run fully drugged pretty much non-stop. Titan-Vulcan is pretty much the combo to beat. I've been looking for a good turret to help me with my 9999 kills super mission - this might be it.

How u get up there???

^getting a refund is harder than getting an M4 XT  .

I can't read script on black background either OK just blew it up so I could read it. Sounds like a pretty good rant, but it's pretty clearly the victim of a robot translation.

I don't know why Mammoth and Titan were made equal. Not sure why anyone would use Mammoth now.

Took me back to the paysafecard site, every click on the merchant map requires me to type a numeric code. Super suspicious.
