A friend of mine used to play darts for fun. He wasn't that bad at it, and we shared a group of buddies who were decent in whatever we did, mainly because we did those things for fun and only fun. One day, another buddy of mine, not too good at darts, challenged him to a countdown match from a random number. 49 was picked, and away they went. My first friendo dropped his score very easily, and soon he was at one. My other friend wasn't doing too good, and was at maybe 25 iirc. Friend number one throws his next dart, and it lands squarely on the one. Easy game. Except it wasn't, because friend number two throws his dart, and it knocks off friend number one's dart. The game goes on. Friend number one comes close to hitting that one point many, many times, but just can't stick it. At one point, he landed a dart square on the dividing line between one and two points, but his dart was just this much closer to the two than the one. Then another time, he landed two of his three darts right below the board. A hair's breadth away from that mystical one point. Yet another dart hits the one point fair and suare, but wasn't thrown hard enough, and it bounces off the board to hit the floor, as useless as the other countless throws before. His concentration intensified, but friend two was getting closer. He had now caught up, and only needed two points to win. One and two. Friend two lands a shot on the dividing line between two and three. As in perfectly in between. No edge to be seen, it's just there. A 50% chance between winning and losing a turnaround. I got some other pals of mine, we held the board up to the light, but in vain - nobody could really tell if it was a 3-pointer or a 2-pointer shot. A vote was made, and to friend one's relief, it's called as a three. Well, his relief is short lived, because on his next turn, he lands all three of his darts onto the one-pointer...only to have each one bounce off. His luck is abysmal on that day it seems. Friend two's turn. One dart finds itself buried in the ceiling. His second attacks some fake flowers on the wall. And the third one hits its mark straight and true, right on the 2-pointer. And to add insult and injury to even more insult and injury, friend two offers friend one a redemption match, who accepts reluctantly. Friend one's powering his darts with sheer rage and desperation at this point, I'm sure. He hits a nine, a six, and a five. Knocked twenty points off his score on the first turn, but friend two's first dart hits the bullseye and takes out all of his points in one fell swoop. We later went and looked up the Thesaurus for synonyms for "humiliation" and "defeat". Friend one is a really chill person overall, and he doesn't take long to recover his years of lost pride. He then starts joking around like his usual self, but I can never forget those two matches, even if I wasn't participating in them. It physically, mentally, and possibly spiritually hurt to witness friend one struggle so hard to hit that one point. Just one. I thought I would never see a moment garnering that sort of agony, frustration, and humiliation ever again, because even if it was just a casual game, it was just downright depressing to think about what friend one must have been going through. Well, I found something to beat those two fateful dart games, because the amount of salt in this thread alone is unbelievable.

Try to find one good reason why the EN TO administration would have double standards and pick KN over AK. TL;DR, you can't. It's very likely human error. Someone messed up, Nives doesn't want to point fingers.

Merry Christmas folks.

Lol. Well, it's definitely a rant all right.

You and I have had our disagreements, but there is no question that you were a valuable member to the clan - I'm sorry to see you go. If any time you wish to just hang around and chat, you know where to find us. If any time you wish to return, we'll be keeping a Crested spot open just for you.

Humour is subjective. What you find funny, other people might not have, and vice-versa. Apex_Predator seemed to like it - heck, I chuckled a bit while reading this edition. I would state the old and tired-out phrase of "iF yOu DiDnT LiKe It, HoW aBoUt YoU tRy DoInG iT yOuRsElF?!?!?!1/1/1/!?!?", but that's redundant, since anyone can criticize anything. Free speech, constructive critics, yadda yadda yadda. So, instead, I'll leave you with this: "Shut up and enjoy, thanks." -
but but but but but but but but but but but but but but butt but but but but but Lovely article, though ironically, it's a bit on the short side for something called "in depth". I understand though, there have been quite a few articles detailing Hornet and Isida on their unique capabilities. Nice work, keep it up.

I'd assume it's because of the swearing in his writing. A few other great writers weren't mentioned, but it's probably because they didn't have a long history in the AWC. Like, I've seen Magenta around for a decent amount of time, but Toxiclaw was also quite good, yet didn't make it because of his late debut.

Agreed on the skip button. Don't want anyone to be unfairly left out because nobody knew who they were.

... ok you have a point. Though every contest I've seen from stalking on my FB page has a crystal reward attached. And then everyone just demands more.
-
I don't actually think the prizes are even necessary at this point - it's an added incentive, but this is more of a bragging rights thing than anything else. I like it when competitions are just for fun, not everything needs to have a prize reward. Part of the reason why I was surprised to see even a few people complaining about the crystals. Stop complaining people, just earn it yourself. Have fun. Best of luck to everyone involved! May only the best of the best win. :)

The Incident at Suicide Ridge [Tankiverse fanfic]

As the stories go on, I can't help but notice the profanity more and more. I don't mind it, and thankfully the "harder" cusses are censored out, but would this be considered suitable for the forum? I believe the topic was brought up before too, and if I remember correctly, it was allowed as long as it wasn't "excessive". When would it become "excessive"? -

...you do know there are more constellations than just the big and small dippers right there was no actual info about the constellation given to the reader, apart from the fact that it was indeed The Great Bear. Great story as always Twee - you're so good, people are trying to call you out on any "mistake" they find to try and nerf your broken writing ability
