  1. The whole list including Honorable Mentions has been updated. The Top 20 are in order as of Sept 2. I'm pretty sure all the Legends 70+ are in the right order of XP unless they moved up since yesterday...I didn't check today. Legends 60+ are only put into their current numerical ranking. I'm not going to try to sort out who is ahead of who in each specific rank any more. I may start doing that with the Legends 70+ soon since it is lots of work putting them in order by rank and in order within each rank...there are getting to be a lot of Uber-Legends...113 have been found so far. :) There has been a lot of movement upwards but not tons of shifting positions. Many of the Uber-Legends have risen a couple of ranks but only a few have overtaken other players. .....I agree that CP is the way to go for quicker XP. Back in the day, I played CP with my friends almost exclusively...on Island. You could really gain XP fast with all the dying, killing, and the point getting turned constantly.
  2. Boris4311 is the undisputed highest ever at Legend 166 Lots of movement in the top ten and other high ranking Legends...wow, they must be raking in the stars! #1 is a long way to go and Boris4311 doesn't seem to be slowing down much. Dont_Panic has dropped back to the #5 slot and there are some very aggressive players on their way up. emcuk was at Legend 108 in my last update about three weeks ago. Now he (or she) is at 114. P_E_C_H_u_4_K_A_GT went from 102 to 108. I wonder if these players know their progress is being tracked and they have fans cheering them on.
  3. Wasp's bomb is making even the lower ranks unplayable. It is ridiculous. Every game at least half the team are Wasps. I've been in many games where 100% of the opposition is Wasps. When you have that many, and considering the shortend charge time there are always one or two bombs going off somewhere on any map. It's just spawn shoot die spawn shoot die spawn shoot die spawn shoot die. You can't do anything to counter the bombs and Hunter's OD is too slow with the one second delay to do anything about them...on a very rare occasion, Hunter can deactivate a bomb...maybe once out of ten or fifteen bombs. The higher ranks battles are no fun so I stopped playing them months ago, now the lower ranked battles have been ruined by Wasps OD and the disproportionate number of Wasps. If Hunter's OD doesn't get a buff or Wasp's OD get a nerf, it looks like I'm going to take a break from Tanki for a bit. There is no point playing a game if it isn't any fun. I'll try again at the next update.

OK...sorry...got me...poor word choice, I meant mistake....or....botch instead of glitch or even garf in onomatopoeiaesk jargon
  5. Too funny...literally lol...makes me chuckle just looking at your quote now, even after having read it previously :)

Sorry, it just seemed like a poorly conceived idea for more internal advertising. Happy to see that it was just a mistake. I'm embarrassed to say but I just put this in "Ideas and Suggestions" since I thought that I had put it in the wrong section of the forum. Please delete it from that section since it is just a glitch.

    Private servers

This would be great...epic actually. I'd rent a server for sure. Call my a cynic, but I can't see Tanki implementing anything like this for several reasons. First, it would draw players away from the main servers which would thin out the ranks of the already thinning player base for MM. Second, it sounds very complex and involved to actually get it to function properly...maybe if there were like one or two static times, like one iteration around the time of the paint seperation and another just before MM was introduced. Third, I don't think Tanki cares enough about their somewhat dissatisfied players to bother with something like this...I doubt there would be enough profit in it. The other side of that coin woul be that it might encourage some disgruntled players to come back to Tanki, but then when I quit a game, I don't bother with it anymore, so getting the word out to those ex-players might be difficult. Fourth, I don't think Tanki wants us playing any other way than the way they want the game played. I believe they want complete control so they can target their marketing very precisely. They've got us where they want us, why let us wiggle any? All the degrading of the game they have done over the last couple of years has been to bring us to this point. I can't imagine them backsliding now as their evil plans come to fruition. Fifth, kinda in line with the first and fourth, but...if it ain't broke don't fix it. Tanki is more lucrative now than it has ever been (my educated guess), Why take a gamble on a small money making affair when the current system is already raking in the cheese? Especially if there is even a tiny chance it might disrupt cheese production.
  8. It is not necessary, in fact it is detrimental. OK, Shafts love Highways. One of my joys in the game was Shaft hunting on Highways...gone. And now where are the good maps for Shafts?...they are part of the game too even though they can be very annoying. Now Highways is pretty much like any other large map...drive across and kill, or camp and fight off the would be spawn killers. Which is the same on all the maps now. Does anyone really think that this will keep players from leaving if there is a blow out?...just like they would have probably left if there were too many Sahfts one side. There is no advantage with this update. Why not use just one map, one turret, and one hull? Because people like variety. Making all the maps a happy place for the majority of the hulls/turrets, ruins the maps for the minority of the hull/turrets. The minority hulls/turrets have a place in the game too and deserve a chance to shine and that usually means maps that are more suited to their particular characteristics. I usually agree with you on almost all of your posts and I like how you generate ideas to try to salvage what little is left of this game...especially after some obnoxious update, but on this particular point I think you are totally wrong and may have been sipping the Kool-Aid...what you are saying sounds much like the party-line. But, if that is what you truly think, so be it. Either way our opinions really don't matter one little itty bitty tiny tinsey bit since Tanki has already made the change and will never bother to look back...Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!
  9. I've been playing on the Highways map. It's now just another boring homogenized "drive to the other side and try to spawn kill" map. It is as bland and insipid as what Tanki did to Massacre. Why must all the maps be the same? The game is suffering from tedium as it is, why remove any type of variety...I would think Tanki would be trying to introduce MORE variety not remove it. Each map may be techinically different but they are all just about the same. What a shame that all the character is being squeezed out of every MM maps. When do the buildings go up on the Stadium map?
  10. You are right. I was trying to be kind to poor little MM and give it slight kudos, but the harsh reality is that it's terrible...completely terrible ;)

Please don't start posting large images in the news pane of the lobby like you did today. It clutters the lobby screen and makes the news very difficult to read. We have all seen these graphics many times on the log in page anyway. There is no point to re-posting them in the lobby...in fact it will probably deter many people from bothering to read the news of announcements. Keep the lobby clean and clutter free. STOP please:
  12. I agree with almost everything you have said, but why was MM needed? I have never gotten good rational for MM. The best Tanki could come up with is staying in a contemporary style of gaming...in other words everybody uses MM so we need to use MM also. MM did not fix multing, in fact I think multing is even worse now with mission mults. In the lower ranks you can see many matches where 5 of the 8 players on one side never make a point but getting killed 10 times. Almost all battles have a mult or two. Granted, they are not sabotage and placed by a player on the opposing team, but a passive non-productive player is still a mult basically. And raided battles; not exactly, but you still get three coordinated team players on one side, many times two sets of three in higher rank battles. Is there much difference in that and raiders? They dominate the battle just the same. I see absolutely no benefit what so ever from MM...not even a teeny tiny little itty bitty benefit for players. MM doesn't even match teams very well...actually it does a terrible job at team matching. I play lower rank accounts and I can tell that all MM is actually doing is slamming a set of rank brackets in together. At rank9 you always play with ranks equal or below you. At rank10 battles are pretty well balanced and you tend to get one or as much as two ranks above or below. At rank 11, you never see ranks below you, you are always the bottom...MM says, oh, it a rank11, they go with this group...done. Plus we sacrificed so much for MM. Choice in maps. Choice in number of players...you could find full or empty battles to join. Choice in rank brackets...sometimes you felt like a challenge and fought ranks way above you to hone your skills or maybe you were lazy and felt like slaughtering lower ranks...or even find balanced battles (more than now I think). You could join a grind fest that generated big Battle Funds or more strategic hide and seek kind of play. We lost it ALL and more! Why, because of Tanki's marketing. They got tired of money trickling in...maybe they were even going under, who knows. Then someone laid out the scheme we have now. Hook the players on using supplies in every battle all the time...remember when you were ostracized for using a repair kit? There were always drug wars but they were never as maniacal as they are now...and most battles didn't have much drug use at all. Now you can not play without drugs. The whole nerf/buff cycle that hulls have now joined brings in extra cash along with paints, bundles, star passes, wars, multipliers, blah, blah,...they make a lot more money now and MM ushered in this new era of $$$. The entire OD situation is to chew through more and more supplies. I bet supply usage has doubled or tripled since the OD started. But why MM? They needed MM to force us to play the way they wanted us to play They needed to get rid of all the customizable stuff and all the choice that Tanki originally offered. With MM they could coerce a larger number of players into sending in more money...it worked...from a business stand point they were right...MM has made Tanki very lucrative I would assume. The homogenization of Tanki made us all play one way...their way and now they can control how we play more easily. If Pro-Battles ever really took off and started attracting large numbers of players, Pro Battles would disappear or get tweaked to generate as much as MM did...or they'd stop battle funds in pro battles. In a Vlog,Hazel even once said he almost didn't let Pro battles go with a battle fund..it was a close decision. It all boils down to Tanki wants us to play their way so they can control us more easily. They want control to focus on ways of generating income. I can't say I blame them, but I am very sad about losing a great game in the process. I firmly believe there were probably other avenues they could have pursued to generate income, but they chose what they chose and it seems to have worked for them. So is MM needed...I don't think it was ever needed. It was just one means to an end that Tanki wanted. Gosh, I do run off at the mouth sometimes...sorry
  13. De Lag! De Lag! O Tanki Engineers/Coders, De Lag! It is sooooooooo bad. I can drive but I can't turn my turret...litterally. If I turn the turret it stops the animation for about a half to one full second. The tank, other tanks, an the timer just freeze for a short amount of time. It recovers and if you try to turn your turret it does it again. It takes about 10 seconds to make one full 360 degree rotation of the turret with a dozen short freezes throughout the entire painful process. I can't play the game today so far. I also have the same problem as Ms.Babe (comment above) and I use Chrome. I have been getting the "An error has occurred" dialog box every few battles for several weeks now. ASL is the very worst. It almost never happens that I can enter a second ASL battle without logging out and back in. Usually the only way to join an ASL battleat all is to click ASL, let the "loading" page grind for a bit, log out and log back in as quickly as possible. I can usually catch about four minutes of the seven (well 6:40) minute battle this way. Instead of map changes, OD tweaks, new paints, contests, events, decorations, puzzles, quizzes, tournaments, playoffs, e-sports, blah, blah, blah...couldn't you guys work on getting the game to run properly?
  14. Just for your edification (and mine), I just timed all the hulls ODs with a stopwatch. Buff/nerf whatever, this is what they are and the times are pretty accurate as far as I can tell, but today's horrendous lag may have affected the outcomes a tad. Viking is very difficult to get an accurate read on since there is only one OD per battle (if the battle lasts that long even). So there is a little bit of estimating with Viking's OD, but it is pretty close. Oh, and this is with no kills of course...that's a whole 'nother can-o-worms. Wasp: 100 seconds (1:40) Hornet: 115 seconds (1:55) Hunter: 115 seconds (1:55) Dictator: 145 seconds (2:25) Mammoth: 145 seconds (2:25) Titan: 168 seconds (2:48) Viking: 255 seconds (4:15)
  15. Gear Score = pointless MU level = very helpful (removed, of course)
  16. I'm sorry, I interrupted Tanki-Speak incorrectly. Wasp got the mondo buff while Mammoth got mothballed. Mammy lost 5 seconds of OD duration AND it now takes lots longer to recharge the OD. So they nerfed Mammy on both ends, duration and recharge. I just put a stop watch on Mammoth and it now takes 144 seconds to recharge with no killing involved. That is about as long as it takes Dictator's OD to recharge. I think Mammoth now has about the worst OD, a position previously held by Viking. At least Viking is super badass once or twice a battle. Mammoth will now be ineffective two to three times a battle...I guess they figured they sold enough Mammoths to the gold hunters, so time to nerf it back to garagedom.
  17. It is sometimes har to decipher Tanki-Speak and here is yet another instance I got it worng. I just timed Wasp's OD manually (the lag is so bad I can't fight in a battle). OMG...OMG!!! ...They gave Wasp a BUFF! A BUFF! It originally was 125 seconds, then 109 or 110, now it is *100 seconds! I just put a stopwatch on it. That also reflects their 11% more accurately. Crap, the Wasp bombs were awful before but now they will be ubiquitous thought all battles. Tanki loves the Wasp bomb because it cancels tons of supplies. I would bet that since the inception of ODs, supply consumption has at least doubled if not tripled. Most of the ODs have a supply canceling effect, the exceptions being Dictator and Titan to an extent. Wasp's bomb is non-combatable. Sure, technically Hunter can nullify it, but it has to be almost a coincidence that you activate Hunters OD at the same time Wasp plants a bomb. The one second lag for Hunter doesn't leave enough reaction time to defuse the bomb...all you end up doing is wasting a Hunter OD. I hated the no-skill-required suicide bomb tactics of Wasp...most obnoxious OD out there, and Tanki gives it a buff so there will be even more bombs...typical. Do these guys just sit around drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes trying to figure out ways to make the game less enjoyable? It seems like they are actually trying to make it worse and worse. * I said 97 seconds previously because I didn't count the bomb's 3 second countdown. I didn't realize that while the bomb is waiting to detonate, the OD is recharging...so Wasp's OD recharge is now 100 seconds including the countdown.
  18. Looks like Gauss just became an OP beast. Isida has a small welcome buff, but what it really needs is increased healing speed...it take forever to heal a teammate. At least now you get paid a bit more to try to heal. Mammoth now has the shortest reload time of all the ODs. Its OD was 125 seconds, now reduce that by 40% and you get 75 seconds with no kills involved. It may only last half as long, but Mammy will get almost twice as many ODs per battle. If the Mammoth driver is quick at killing they will have an OD almost all the time...maybe 30 seconds without an OD, then back on for some more speed and slaughter...yikes. Wasp is back to just about what it was before it got the buff. Originally it was 125 seconds, then 110 seconds, and now back to 122 seconds. Since they say approx 11%, I'm guessing that Wasp will go back to 125 seconds...even though that is actually more like 13% Highways...more homogenization of maps. Gear Score....who cares, it's still useless. -----------------------------------oops------------------------------- Wow, with the way I read the patch notes, I got Wasp and Mammoth bassacwards. Mammy just went back to the garage for cold storage. Not only did they cut the ODs duration in half (now 5 seconds), they increased the time it takes to regenerate. I just put a stop watch on Mammy and it takes a whopping 144 seconds to charge with no killing. That's about the same as Dictator. Mammoth has left the building! Wasp got a 100% undeserved big buff. I timed Wasp's OD at 97 seconds or one minute and 37 seconds...significantly shorter than Hornet or Hunter. And why? To help game play? Nope, to cancel lots and lots of supplies so more can be sold!

    HOT NEWS! Gauss Turret Released!

Too bad they didn't name it:
  20. Well, that's what i thought recently too! So I bought a ProPass to use this account again. ...Meh. Pro Battles are now a jumbled mess. There are also very few pro battles at any given time and almost none when it is convenient for me to play by my local time. The Pro Battles that do show up tend to have very long duration...like two hours a battle. OK, create your own battle...and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. Nope, Pro Battles are not a sufficient substitute for "the good old Tanki" mostly because MM sucks up all the online players time in completing missions. If you remember one of the updates made daily missions take three to four times as long to complete. So is MM compulsory? Not exactly, but if you ever want to upgrade your equipment or even buy a new piece of equipment, you either need to play MM to complete missions or send in cash. Hmmmmm, sound like a capitalist type of plan. And, the game is boring and monotonous NOW because of MM and the updates implemented to accommodate MM. That is the point...Tanki is tired and bland now where it used to be really fun. Everything is the same all the time on every homogeneous MM map in every battle. They are all about the same...that is the very definition of monotony. Tanki used to have great diversity and lots of choice in how you played...now it has very little. That is why tens of thousands of players have just quit playing Tanki. Well over a hundred thousand players have decided that Tanki has become not worth playing...and my guess is that most of them thought it was because Tanki has become boring.
  21. It's not that the game is terrible. It is that the game is terrible in comparison to the game that existed before. You own an drive a beautiful Porsche 962. It's everything you ever wanted in a car and driving it to the grocery store and work is a real treat. Through no fault of your own, The City bans all sports cars and you are forced to drive a Honda Civic. You can still drive to the grocery store and work...and it is even enjoyable sometimes since the Civic is an OK little car...but it just isn't as much fun as the Porsche. It meet all the needs that the Porsche did, but it doesn't have that WOW factor. The result is that you miss the Porsche and the fun you had in it and every time you drive the Civic, you are reminded of the Porsche. On The City Blog you and other citizens spend time talking with each other about the days when you could drive sports cars and try to puzzle out why The City enacted such a stupid law. At first all the chit-chat is in hopes that the awful law will be repealed, but eventually you realize that all the protesting in the world is not going to change anything. The powers that be have made an iron clad decision and the days of sports cars are done. You buy mag wheels, fat tires, and a spoiler kit for your Civic and continue to drive to work and the grocery store.
  22. And it is still a very relevant question. Is Tanki more fun now than before the paint separation? That specific update, even though it wasn't a bad update in itself, it marks the point at which the game started to go into the toilet. It has all been downhill since then with toxic update after update...mostly game compromising updates to accommodate the Mother of all bad updates, MatchMaking. Battles have turned into a reactionary as opposed to strategy style of game-play. All choice and control over how you wish to play has been minimized or completely removed. In MM, the maps have been made all very similar and all battles all the time are completely homogeneous. With the absolute sameness of all battles comes tedium and boredom. The game has become a grind and almost like work to have a very occasional glimpse of what was once standard and totally fun game-play. The community environment that once flourished has withered away into a memory and the rule of game-play is now every player for himself. The social aspect of Tanki, one of the things that made it great is gone. So, is Neo-Tanki still playable? Sure...it even has it's moments of fun. But is it as fun as it once was? NOPE...not even close.
