Correct...but for me with shaft as long as a single impact doesn't take my scope off target I am good. So less than 150 is nothing in a titan...but over 250 gets almost impossible to land a shot in scope mode. That's why I rarely take a full charge on shaft. I really like assault emitters and the rapid shot alt for that reason. Makes the effect of impact less important for shaft users now.

Correct...the smoky is at 145 and the twins at 160 if both are m4 AND smoky is equipped with autocannon. It isn't AS bad, but with a shaft it is highly annoying unless using mammoth or titan.
-
Not to mention it still shakes and rocks your tank ever .5 seconds....as annoying as twins:)
-
Probably when they began to offer shot effects for purchase...pay the crystals and choose your color
-
If you are more of a camper, then that might not be a bad deal. I do agree that the placement on the mammy is ideal for shaft. I tried it on highways some, but missed the slight speed advantage the titan has. I also use lots of other turrets so the Titan gave me a better all around heavy hull for using vulcan, smoky, thunder, etc. So, ironically, I never mu'd my mammy above 5/20...we will go different directions on that one:)
-
You and me both :D Almost immediately after my Viking got to m4 they flipped the specs on the hulls...I didn't want to invest the crystals on another medium hull, but after a few months of the rag-doll syndrome...i embraced Hunter. Definitely glad I did. And yes, I didn't get it at 50% off either  I think it was 25% too.
-
I have no idea about the drone question. That may be the answer. As far as the numbers I quoted they are correct. A light hull that is m4 has 2000 health. It would survive assuming DA is active BEFORE it is shot (not pushed as they are getting shot) and that they have 35% protection. The TOTAL damage it would incur would be around 1400 and therefore survive with a little under 600 health.
-
I just want autocannon instead. I NEVER would have bought a 10% buff with NO afterburn. That is garbage. A dumb alt. Especially with Firebird only bringing 700 dps...that's simply a joke. I have no idea why they said it was +50% on the wiki when I bought it and then changed it all. Just swap the alt out. As far as fixing the alt...make it 50% like it was said to be:)
-
It is NOT possible from a single m4 Hammer using duplet and DD to kill any m4 hull with DA + 35% protection. The DA cancels out the DD....leaving two shots landing (assuming ALL pellets hit you) 1080 dmg per shot...total is 2,160 damage...then take off 35% and you are left with 1,404 damage MAX. You were most likely getting hit by someone else or already had damage from another turret that you didn't notice.
-
You will enjoy it for ability to push, rock, accelerate, turn quickly, and more:) In some battles, depending on the enemy's turret makeup, the Titan can work well with DS...Rock solid and 1000 more health.
-
That is garbage! I bought it under the pretense of the +50%...read my comments on the other thread. It was the highest DPS period! Kill a light hull in under 2 seconds...and still have 10 seconds of burning left. No wonder it stinks! And I thought I was using it wrong. I kept racing toward tanks thinking I would 1050 dps them...but NOPE! Now it makes total sense...unfortunately! I got totally ripped off! If people didn't read the wiki and bought it just because it sounded cool, I don't feel bad for them. They weren't expecting anything special. There has got to be a way to refund people for this alt...If they bought it before the wiki was corrected. It is garbage!
-
I was totally ripped off on the incendiary alt for firebird! Then they change the wiki after I ran the numbers. Garbage. No wonder when I started using it I couldn't kill a tank as easily as I could with the compact tanks. I wish I bought the auto cannon on the smoky now. At least that would be worth the crystals! How do we even get that fixed? Can a developer or mod please explain? That is complete false advertisement!
-
Which one? Have they changed the wiki page since it was released. Or did incendiary get nerfed?
-
No idea...I bought it at the sale and it pales compared to compact tanks IMO.

Thanks for reading my mind, judging my motives, and defining my playing strategy all without any knowledge of me:) (and on a side note, it is very hard at higher levels to rack up kills with the thunder...way too many protections). But seriously, I use almost every turret, but enjoy the dynamism of the midrange game (whether rico, thunder, smoky, vulcan or even shaft). I enjoy breaking down a defense for my team to grab a flag or point. I enjoy hunting down the flag carrier and returning the flag to base. In general, I do not avoid contact, nor do I "pick off" people with thunder. I normally would tell you that would be shaft players (of which I am one, but I don't camp and try not to spawn kill). The cowards in my book are typically the melee turrets roaming around spawn points in a game that is way mismatched and long since over...pointless to even participate in a game like that. Regardless, the only time my K/D has dramatically gone up was during my camping phase with the shaft. I didn't enjoy playing that way as it seemed cowardly and less involved in general. So I switched it up and haven't looked back.

By the way, let me be the first to congratulate you on the soon to be Legend status!!! Quite a long haul in my personal experience:)

Firebird-Isida-Hammer

Please elaborate on why this is a coward move and why sledgehammer makes thunder broken.

No doubt...I just bought 3 alts and this alt and the Sledge Hammer on Thunder are both very solid alts. The jury is out on the incendiary alt for firebird. It seems compact tanks still is what you should equip based on my limited experience over the past day. Back to the new shaft alt, I haven't had this much fun with Shaft in a long time. It makes the turret capable of engaging at close, mid, and long range. Used properly (which I am trying to learn currently) it should provide a long-term role in team matches for the shaft beyond camping. Congrats to Developers for making this Alt...loads of fun. Not OP, but definitely what the shaft needed IMO. I did buy that kit...it also gave us 3 protections too:) Good days!
-
The one distinct advantage Twins does have however is that it wrings out every speck of benefit from DD. It is a relentless assault that maximizes drugs like no other turret...possibly Vulcan, but only once it is firing:)
-
Statistically, you should not need many seconds of direct exposure to roast most enemy tanks. It is almost the opposite of the compact tanks strategy of spray and run. It is spray and stay...no afterburn, but also no other melee turret dishes out a higher DPS than the incendiary alt for firebird. I will be buying this and the triple shot shaft alt in 24 hours and report back soon:) Can't wait!

While I agree that compact tanks is crazy for the firebird, comparing smoky autocannon with firebird compact tanks is an apples and oranges comparison. I do not prefer the melee turrets in general. I like the game play and flexibility of midrange turrets and the longer range turrets best. It is fun to play with firebird and compact tanks some, it honestly doesn't compare to me to using Rico, Vulcan, Shaft, Thunder in the arena of fun. Not saying firebird isn't a great turret, just find what you enjoy using and get the best alt for that turret.

I have all the alts for the shaft except the rapid-fire mode which I will buy on 50% sale. My favorite is the short band emitters even though it got nerfed somewhat at the big alterations roll out. The light capacitors does reach full damage (obviously -30% of max) very quickly. It also gets a notable boost on speed or rotation (30%) which is a BIG plus when shooting at enemy hornets and wasps. I thought it would fit the spot of the quick snipe I used to do before they made any scoped shot drain your entire energy bar, but it does not. What I have come to use the most is the short-band emitters. The decrease in shot speed is accompanied by 2 very important benefits: 1) Added damage for ALL arcade shots (+20%) which is fairly helpful to finish off opponents..coupled with DD it is a nice wrecking tool 2) The un-advertised bonus of +20% on your minimum scoped damage. In my opinion this is what makes this alt a must have for a shaft user (assuming you are not a camper). So your m4 shaft now cranks out 1125 on ANY scoped shot whatsoever (as quick as .5 seconds). I have found that this has made a big difference on quick shots that kill light hulls or significantly wound enemies. Anyway, I have always loved shaft and think all the alts serve a purpose. I just don't like camping too much. So either the short-band or rapid-fire seem to be the best for me. Hope that helps some in your decision making.

Any turret that is spawn killing! It wrecks the game almost every time...no, it wrecks it every time.
-
The increased frequency (about 1 every 2.5 seconds vs 1 every 7.5 seconds) is where autocannon shines. Since there is NO drop off over distance for the critical damage it makes that alt a royal pain once they lock onto you. I know I am being hit and the damage is negligible and then suddenly the critical hits land and you are gone. Now I have smartened up and run for cover quickly.
