Another solution is if you can do your mission on 2-3 different maps.
-
I don't really care if you believe me or not. My full garage was purchased for a grand total of 40k crystals. I wait for the Christmas sale to get an M2 combo for my account. P.S.: I used less Double Armor and Double Damage (combined) drugs than you despite having more than 5x as much XP and playing more than 5x as much time.
-
I only spent like 4$ on this game and I won't spend any more. I want to win games with my skill not by using tons of drugs. The Pro Pass gives me the ability to join drug-free battles for a price of only 2600 crystals which amount I made in 1 day from Daily Missions and battle fund.
-
You should get M1 equipment as soon as possible. Without it you'll be dominated by higher rank players. And yes, Pro battles are way more balanced. Drugs give you much more advantage than having a better turret/hull.
-
If you want to play smaller battles, buy Pro Pass. It also gives the ability to create and join non-drug battles = way better balance between teams.
-
It is noticeable. My K/D sinks like hell. Less overheating time is especially painful.
-
This always interested me: Why anyone plays 999 min battles? A single 60 min battle fund can be over 10k.
-
So updates from now will be smaller but more frequent? Why was this update not smaller then? What's the point of making a big change if you can do smaller ones?
-
Yeah, Vulcan is appealing to me because it's versatile. It rules midrange, does decent damage short-range despite the delay time and the slow turret rotating, and also can fight long-range though obviously the damage will be really low. Overheating, gyroscope and auto-aim are also cool and unique features. Of course more people will use it than the boring Smoky for example. If you want to make a turret more popular, make it more fun to use. Don't make it OP. Also don't make a tank UP if too many people use it, make other turrets more appealing instead. Ruining the balance to make an effect on popularity is wrong.
-
Wrong. My forum account was made on Oct 19. I play this game since mid September. I didn't even know there was a rebalance until now. It makes no sense that they boost Vulcan by 10% then nerf it by 25%. This is not about balance, you can admit it.
-
That's the problem. I will never use Firebird because it's boring to me, even if it'd become the most OP turret.
-
No. I'm saying Vulcan was OP on some of the most popular maps like Polygon and Sandbox. Do you think Vulcan was OP on Monte Carlo? Or Brest? Or Arena? Or Island? If I only play Monte Carlo should I cry because the OP railguns always destroy me?
-
Which map do you like the most?
-
Do you think nerfing Vulcan (damage before overheating) by 25% was a small change?
-
The funny thing is that I think the changes in battle creation was a good idea. I hated drug battles. I didn't buy a Pro Pass because there was hardly any player at my rank who had it. Since non-Pro players cannot join to Pro Battles, I would've wasted my crystals. Now it's recommended to have a Pro Pass if you want to create or join battles on maps you like, or you want to finish your missions in less time. I think it was a great decision. The price is nothing, even if you only play your missions every day, you can collect enough crystals in less than a week. Yay, no more drugger battles for me! You see? This is my Daily Mission today. More than 2000 crystals in one day. And you haven't even counted the battle fund. And it's quite easy to reach these goals, finishing first place is guaranteed if you play 1v1. 150 XP in DM is easy and fast. So is getting 5 DA boxes. The price of my Pro Pass was 2600. I bought it just before ranking up to save some crystals (I know, I'm smart). Then this update happened. My Vulcan is nerfed so badly that it's worthless even on maps where it was the best before. Just an example: M3 equipment is available from Marshall rank (maybe 1-2 ranks before if you buy kits). This means if you're in the yellow star range (Brigadier and up), you'll probably face M3s (M4s) with your M2 tank. It sucks already but in case of Vulcan: Now your M2 Vulcan is weaker than the old M1, so you actually can play with M1 against M3/M4. Play on a map which won't favor your turret (Monte Carlo for example) and you'll be annihilated without even a small chance to kill someone. You know, not everyone plays only Polygon. If there is only Polygon in TO even I can agree with nerfing Vulcan/Freeze/Firebird. But there are countless other maps, where other turrets are OP. So what should I do? Buy crystals and get all turrets? That's what you want? No, I won't. I spent some money on crystals but if I'm competitive only if I buy more... Well, good bye Tanki Online. You won't be missed.
-
I changed my mind about that. I'll not start a new account.I bought Vulcan because it looks cool and I stayed on it because I liked the gameplay with it. I didn't know anything about how strong it is compared to other turrets. I wouldn't complain if the devs nerf it by 5-10% but they nerfed it by 25%. Others were right it's a marketing strategy, they force you to buy other turrets and then they nerf the **** out of that turret too. That's why I'm leaving.
-
I will probably leave TO so I won't enjoy the new Vulcan. But thanks anyway.
-
That's a little too far, but I too want to get back the ~100 hours of my life playing this game.
-
I never felt this helpless in a drug-less battle... Okay, our team had some of the biggest noobs in the galaxy but the fact that I didn't even reach 1 K/D shocked me. This never happened to me in Polygon CP. I usually have 1.5-2 when the teams are balanced. Now despite I was in a battle I wasn't suppose to be (just ranked up at the end of the previous battle) players with Smoky and Thunder M1 completely dominated me. Freezes easily caught me before I was able to destroy them. Let's not talk about Twins, it was hard to defeat them before the update, now it's borderline impossible.
-
Man, you're a genius. Perfect metaphor.
-
Vulcan damage is even worse when you consider the change in overheating time. It's actually -25% damage before overheating. If you find the turret OP then nerf it by 5-10%, it'll already effect gameplay but not that drastic. Then if you find Vulcan still OP, you can nerf it again. I didn't buy Vulcan because it was OP, I bought it because it looks cool and fits my playstyle. I like keeping the enemy under fire, I like defending the flag/defending a point, I like fighting enemies midrange, etc. People like it because it's different and unique.
-
How many "rebalances" were made since the beginning? When will this game reach "perfect balance"?
-
Very true. Just try to play Freeze on bigger, open maps. Tanks with a bigger range will crush you before you can reach them.
-
Vulcan was beaten in small maps like Arena or Island easily by short range guns (Firebird, Freeze, Twins) because of the smaller short range damage and the time between the start of the rotating and the actual shooting. I tried to play them and I got an okay result most of the time but nothing extraordinary. Now I can't imagine Vulcan being competitive on those maps. Vulcan was beaten in large maps like Monte Carlo or Brest by long range guns (Shaft, Railgun), because the long range damage is nearly zero. Playing on these maps was a really hard task, the only job Vulcan was capable is to protect the flag. Now with this ridiculously low damage Vulcan will disappear from those maps too. Now the devs take away the advantage in medium maps like Sandbox or Polygon by reducing the firepower by almost 20%. I think the decision was made because Vulcan was kind of OP on these popular maps. More players play on them = more crying "Vulcan is OP, nerf it!". Of course someone who plays only Polygon will feel this way, but there are tons of maps where other turrets are OP, if you want to feel superior play on those maps. This was a really stupid decision which ruins Vulcan completely. Yesterday a team of 8 on Polygon CP looked like this: 3 Firebird/Freeze 1-2 Vulcan 1 Twins 2 Smoky/Thunder/Hammer 0-1 Isida 0 Railgun/Shaft A few weeks from now Vulcan will completely disappear from these battles. I tried to compete with my new, nerfed Vulcan. You don't want to know the result. Vulcan was once King of Polygon, now it can't even dominate the most advantageous map. Imagine the maps where they were underpowered... I seriously considered leaving Tanki Online permanently. I'll make up my mind after a few days. At least I can focus on other things instead of this stupid game. Good job.

This isn't rebalance. Rebalance means small changes to make the game more fair. You basically murdered Vulcan. No one will use it from now. I'll play with Twins or Smoky on my alt account. I refuse to buy an M2 Vulcan which is worse than my current M1. A good poll would be: Will you continue to use your Vulcan after the rebalance? I'm sure at least 80% will be 'No'. P.S.: I spent some money on my current account. I'll NEVER buy anything from now. You won't get a single penny from me. What's the point? You made my turret useless, what's the point spending anything on this game?
