Ups: As mentioned above and more. Downs: Hackers, Keyloggers, Viruses, Worms, Trojans, Tricksters, Trackers, Hijackers, Bugs outside the realm of Viruses (Fungus?), Card readers. For as good as you think your antivirus is and for as good as you think your firewall is, there's a hacker out there who has already written a hack for it and is just waiting for the right time to pounce. Even if your credit card is in you wallet or purse and neatly tucked away, it can still be hacked (read) without you knowing it. Don't become a victim.

category Ideas for Supplies and Drones!
Zomblistic replied to Ilia.ArchangeI in Ideas and Suggestions
Idea: Small, very insignificant, robot that will explode upon hitting anything solid (including (but limited to) trees, speed bumps, walls, buildings and other tanks including your team mates). Other features (pros and cons) 1...can only go in a straight line. Cannot be controlled in anyway. The path it takes is straight and true. 2...can go up ramps but cannot turn 3...cannot jump, will not bounce or ricochet. 4...If sent over the edge of a building or cliff it will explode upon hitting the ground (or a hiding enemy tank) 5...Has 1/4 (or maybe 1/2) damage of a mine. It won't do much damage to a tank with full health but it would kill a tank with very little or no life that may be hugging a wall below. Will not kill a Wasp at full health, but will do damage. 6...Only 1 can be released by each player in a 15 minute battle, 2 in a 30 minute battle, etc. If there's no timer set for the battle, then there will be a 15 minute cooldown period. If you have released you robot, you cannot reload the tab or rejoin a battle after a disconnect and release another. 7...Very small, only a few pixels big. Similar to an ant running across the floor and moves very quickly. 8...Unlocks at WO1. 9...Can only go in one direction...Forward of the tank releasing it. If the enemy is chasing you and you release the robot, it will go in front of you. If you turn around and face the enemy, it will go in front of you, hitting the chasing tank. 10...If it hits a team mate's tank, it will explode, but do no damage. So, your aim better be good. 11...Has some splash damage, but only half of the energy of the robot. If the robot has the exploding damage 1/2 that of a mine, then the splash damage will be 1/4 of the damage of a mine. 12...If you die after releasing the robot, it will continue along its path until it hits something solid. Much like if you are using Firebird and you die during the attack, the tank continues to burn. Of itself, one robot doesn't do much damage, but if one is released by several players at one time, the damage can be significant.- 2,749 replies

Let's take this scenario I saw not long ago on a higher account: Map: Rio blue Battle Mode: CTF Hull: Dictator M1 (Fully MUed) Turret: Railgun M1 (Fully MUed) Rank: WO3 Dictator was positioned on the cliff where the buildings are. Supply drops aren't very far away. He was constantly using his own supplies and taking those off the ground, even if he didn't need them, so he could keep his own supplies going. Nestled between him and the building behind him was an Asida/Wasp, very well protected. How many kills do you think he would have before he died? I checked his profile...he was obviously a buyer and used supplies well up into the thousands. It appears that he bought fully upgraded hulls and turrets plus large amounts of supplies as they became available to him. Yes, he had a high kill rate and low death rate. i don't remember how many kills he had in this battle, but it was around 30 and 1 death. His 1 death was close to the end of the battle because he went after the GB. He never attempted to go after the flag, but he had the highest score. He killed a lot of flag bearers. Is this the type of player you want to be compared to? When he went for the GB, a couple well planted railgun shots killed him. So, if he wasn't using supplies (and didn't have the undivided attention of the Asida) his K/D ratio would be a lot different. I think that's what Artificial-Intel was talking about. The kill rate would be a lot different between a buyer and a non-buyer.

When I use mouse control, I run out of desk space and mouse lands on the floor. Dog thinks I just dropped a new toy and tries to run off with it. Keyboard stays where I put it. I vote Keyboard all the way.

Sounds to me like the top scorer had a mission "1st in battle" and he was trying to defend that position by preventing caps and preventing killing shots of his team mates. I believe that's called "sabotage" which is a reportable violation, providing you have the footage to prove it. Logically speaking, if Blue wasn't drugging at all, then they shouldn't have made any more than 1 or 2 caps. But when Blue started playing like a team and attacked enforce, Red perceived them as a threat, became all unhinged and disorganized. As for the mults, IMO, they were team mates that felt their win was a shoe-in and just quit playing. --------------------------------------------------OR-------------------------------------- There was someone on Skype orchestrating the whole thing, which I have wondered about many times.

Providing you can get through all the Red Tape and try to prove that what you have is based on fact?

I'd like to go back in time, but I don't know when yet, to see if we were born of Adam and Eve, evolved from monkeys or from a microscopic organism that happened to wash up on shore. I've read all 3 theories. This may take a few trips.

That's pretty cool. Nice. You didn't mention where you would like to go or who you like to meet. Any ideas?

If you had a Time Machine in your garage (or any other place where it would be readily available) where would you like to go or who would you like to meet? Past or Future. Give a reason why, please.

I used to use Firefox exclusively, but it got too laggy. I tried Edge, but it wasn't any better. Now I use Chrome. It seems to be a bit better, though it still has it's laggy moments.

Druggers, druggers everywhere And I'm just cannon fodder. Give me a tank to kill them all And I'll be the Great Marauder.

Many times, I play late at night. What games are available, which are very few, are nothing but Russians. Before the merger, I never had a problem finding a good battle on the English servers. Now it seems the English don't play late night any more.

Tank used to be a non-buyers game with the option to buy. Now it's a buyers game with the option not to buy. I played tanki for hours on end. Take a break, do something else and then right back at it. Now I play for an hour of two and I'm done. What made me decline in playing started with the pro-battles. A lot of buyers bought the pass with real world money. I'm not a buyer, so I didn't buy a pass. The non-pro battles started declining in numbers. It became hard to find a decent non-pro battle. in my rank (at the time). But I still played, but not the hours I used to. Yes, now you don't need to spend real world money to buy a pass, but why buy it when most times it's parkour. Most parkour modes are players messing around, doing their own thing, being a nuisance or playing a mock battle. I know tanki has no control over that. It is what it is. Now, the servers are merged, there's more buyers using supplies, buying the next tank, weapon, protection as they become available from ranking up. Yeah, I suppose it's possible to buy upgraded weapons, tanks and protection without buying. Many players swear they have done this. But what they don't reveal is what has happened meanwhile. Such as, still having M0 while the buyers have M1's. Your weapon is almost useless without using supplies and your tank becomes cannon fodder. At this point, your M0 weapon and tank without supplies comes up against an M1 of the same tank and same weapon not using supplies. Who wins the 1v1? Certainly not the non-buyer. If the other tank has protection against your weapon and is using DA, the 1v1 is a no brainer. Right now, on this account, I seldom get crystal missions and the amount of supplies I get are hardly worth the effort. I no longer find enough incentive to play this game as before. There are days when I don't play at all because all the battles are buyers battles. Whoever has the most supplies, most updated weapon and hull wins. There's very little strategy. Just point, shoot, drug....point, shoot, drug. Money is the root of this game. If a weapon was intended to one-shot kill, then do away with the supplies and upgrade the weapons to do just that. If a hull was intended to block 500 damage, then do away with the supplies, upgrade the hull to do just that. But that's a dream, because it all comes back to money. Sure, money is needed to run the game, pay the employees, etc. I get that. But every time there is an update that somehow involves money, the Devs try to make the player believe it's for the betterment of the player, when in reality, if analyzed, it all comes back to more money. Sometimes I wonder who tanki is really supporting. Either the Devs are getting rich quick, or there is something else behind the scenes. Players are quitting for various reasons. So to make up the loss of revenue, the game costs more to play effectively. I've found other games that peak my interest more and don't cost anything or very little to play. I can't afford tani. It's the rich players game. Of course, what I call rich another player may call it pettence. To me, $20.00 may mean food on the table, while another player may call it pocket money. To me, paying $10.00 on a game is the same as throwing a $10.00 bill out in the middle of the street. Some people may see a penny on the sidewalk and figure it's not worth the effort to bend over and pick it up. I see a penny on the sidewalk and I will exert the effort to pick it up. I put it in a jar with all the other pennies, nickels, and dimes and an occasional quarter I've picked up. I started playing tanki in 2001 and seldom play my higher accounts any more. Instead, I keep making new accounts to keep it fun. Not as many buyers at the lower ranks. Tanki was my #1 game to go to. Not any more. Now, it ranks #4....or #0 depending on the battles and buyers.

In my other higher accounts, I used to give out battle cries or alert my team. Like: "Come on team, we can do this." If we were falling behind. Or "Quit playing TDM and get this map (blue/red)." If we were CP. Or "2 minutes for the win." Or "1 minute 1 flag for the win." Something along those lines. A lot of times it worked and the team played harder. But now, when the entire chat is in anything other than English, how do you communicate that?

A game I played quite regularly, Robot War (I think was the name) was dying and I went out searching for another tank game. I was on miniclip and found this one. Tanki had just turned 2 years old. That's when blue 10 crystal packs fell like rain. Ahhhh, yes, the good ol' days. I remember when I first started playing tanki and........Naw, you don't want to hear about that. Those days are long gone, ancient history, never to return. Only a memory, now, like your first real kiss.

Entering a battle on the winning team, then the winning team becomes so sure of the outcome, they become complacent and starts playing TDM (even though it's not a TDM battle) and the winning team loses because of it.

How many different TO combos do you think are out there?
Zomblistic replied to DieselPlatinum in Archive
Those who used Modules, Alterations and XT's in you calculations, will have to do it over. :D -
Give every player the ability to heal each other by using their weapons. For example: If Rico sees a player short on health, he can hit "overdrive" and shoot that player from a distance to heal. If Firebird sees a player short on health, he can heal by hitting "overdrive" and throwing napalm on him. And so on. However, Striker and Magnum would be a bit different, since they are different types of weapons. Striker will have to use 4 rockets to heal and Magnum can heal a group of players with one shot. This can only be implemented once per battle by each player. The drawback of this is, once you use your ammo to heal, you will be out of ammo until it reloads, making you vulnerable for a short time until the reload is done.

I've seen where half the players are there, but not playing (hiding) while some that are left are absent. Where are they? Both have full teams, but some of ours are missing. I've counted the life lines across the map. So, instead of 10 players, there may be only 6 present and 2 or 3 not playing, leaving 3 or 4 participating. The ones hiding may move a little, but stay behind the building. I will nudge them out of the way, but they don't respond. Are the ones that don't play "mults?" They move just enough so they don't get kicked out of the battle. Where are the ones that are on the team list, but are not seen?

Some of the better antiviruses can catch the Trojan before it does damage. But once the computer is infected, there is no way the files can be decrypted without paying the ransom. This is where backing up your files off line such as a storage chip comes in handy. But how many of us home computer users do this? Corporations should do this on a regular basis, but apparently, they are not, since it's mostly corporations that are being infected. The only protections are: 1)...back up important files 2)...have a good antivirus and keep it updated 3)...check for any and all updates (Windows, browser, drivers, etc). Good preventative maintenance. 4)...don't open any emails, pdf's or click on any links from unknown sources, no matter how good it sounds. Instead, go directly to that website to learn about the offer. 5)...don't click on any links for updates. Instead, go directly to the web page. A few years ago, I nearly got caught on that one. The link took me to a page that looked legitimate, but the wording was wrong and some of the words were misspelled. i clicked out and went directly to the web page. There were no updates available at that time. Bottom line, don't be lazy about keeping your computer up to date and use some common everyday common sense.

Yeah, I've seen that happen, too. The losing team fills up with buyers and druggers and the winning team is suddenly out classed. I haven't bought a pro pass with this account, yet, though I have on my other accounts. So far, mostly what I'm seeing with pro pass is parkour. I'm not spending my crystals to play parkour. I mostly enjoy the non supply battles, that stops the druggers from coming in and ruining a battle and mission completers from leaving a battle early.
-
Yes, I understand the imbalance. What I don't understand is why half the players of a winning team will suddenly quit. The only thing I'm coming up with, in my head, is missions. Players complete their mission(s) then logout before the battle is over. leaving the winning team in a lurch.

Winning team members quitting battle
Zomblistic replied to Zomblistic in Winning team members quitting battle Archive
I've seen this many times. I join team with a large winning margin. About half way through the battle, suddenly, the losing team is racking up points and swarming our base. What's happened to turn the tide of battle? Half of my team has left. Why? I have also been on the losing team and the same thing happens with the winning team. I question why players leave a battle that can be easily won? This turn of events can be frustrating and devastating to the 3 highest scores on the winning (now losing) team. -
My inquiry has been answered by HiS.RoYaL.HiGhNeSs. No problem, here. Thank you. Please close this topic.

My solution to the sticking loading bar
Zomblistic replied to Zomblistic in My solution to the sticking loading bar Archive
Have you ever clicked on a battle and the loading bar seems to move ever so slowly and then stick towards the end? Have you ever waited for the loading bar to move and find you've been kicked from battle before you even entered it? I have many times. This is my solution to the problem: When the bar is about half way, start spam left clicking the mouse as fast as you can. I've been doing this for over a week and never had a problem with the sticking bar. Sometimes I will enter the battle even before the bar gets all the way across. Why this seems to work, I don't know. I found this out one day while waiting for the bar to load. Out of frustration, I started spam clicking (and saying a few choice words). It worked and have been doing it ever since (minus the choice words). :D
