These are the crystals which are being collected during the battle. Once the battle is over, the crystals are being given to you and to the players who've played in this battle. It works the same in MM but you cannot see the fund in MM battles.

You're not the only one, my favorite hull is Wasp.

I find cold immunity useful sometimes, but obviously heat immunity is much more useful.

Apparently it's not a bug, it happens with Railgun's stun augment as well.

We don't know for sure if it's a bug or not since Gauss without any augment doesn't deal splash damage as well. The developers are aware of the matter and are looking into it.
