    Things noobs say or do

Maybe because you are....a drugger, I mean. You use a lot of DA and DD, so yeah, you might be called a noob. Weak turret and weak hull, perhaps?

Thanks for the list, now tell us what all those letters stand for. That's the purpose of this thread.

    Things noobs say or do

I don't know about "say" since I don't read or speak Russian. So, I don't care what they say. That's what the Devs wanted and that's what the Devs got...Battles of Babel (or Babble). As far as "do" goes, I have trouble picking out the ones who are acting noobish, the ones who are working for the other team and the ones who are there just for xp and could care less about the battle mode.
  4. I don't have any real friends in Tanki. Just a bunch of players on a list that ask me to join a losing battle and not necessarily on their winning team. They just want me as cannon fodder.

You hit the nail right on the head. Thank you for clarifying that.
  6. Has anyone stopped to visualize two teams with slideshows going on? Very distracting. Besides that, there are players who target buyers. Buyer Killers won't see the different paints, all they will see is a slideshow of bullseye targets.

    World of Computers Acronyms

Every once in awhile, I'll run into an acronym, in relationship to computers, that I'm not familiar with. Recently, it was GIGO --Garbage in, Garbage out. Meaning, if the information you feed into a computer is in error, the information the computer gives out, will also be in error. What acronyms do you use often or had to look up, in regards to computers and their usage? Please tell what the acronyms mean.

    Admit something!

I admit that sometimes I find the forums more interesting than the battles.

    Poll about computers

When I'm done doing what I was doing, I shut it down. Sometimes, if I'm interrupted, I'll forget it's on and it'll go to sleep. The next day, when I go to turn it on and see I forgot to turn it off, I cringe a little. I begin to wonder what type of Trojan snuck in on me. I have a free version of an antivirus and it's not all that great. It's let a couple Trojans in. One was a search engine that took over all my browsers and the other was a worm that ate my mail and saved files. The search engine couldn't be uninstalled, but could be turned off in the Task Manager. The worm was very expensive to get rid of.

    Tanki Online theories

I've always wondered where all those train tracks lead to. All the tracks stop at a wall, having those walls the ones to be breached would be good.

Does paint affect which player you attack?

Yeah, orange....any design. Orange is just wrong on a tank, especially Dictator and Mammoth. There's others that don't look good on a tank, but orange gets my goosebumps up.

    Chat translator

It was suggested some time ago to have a point-and-click in-game menu with simple keywords used in battle, similar to what @BlackWasp777 was saying. I used to play a MMO with that type of battle communication. You clicked on the word written in your own chosen language and the team would see the command in their own chosen language.

    Things noobs say or do

There's a topic started "What noobs say." This one is about what they do. I use Vulcan on this account, Railgun on another and Shaft on another. 1...They push you off ledges for no reason. 2...When I'm obviously shooting with Vulcan, the noob pushes me for no reason. 3...When using railgun, I'm lining up for a shot and just as I push the trigger, the noob pushes me for no reason. 4...When I'm looking down my scope with Shaft, and letting it charge up, the noob pushes me for no reason. 5...There is plenty of room to get around me, but instead of going around, the noob tries to go through me. 6...I'm turning to go up/down a ramp or down a passageway and turn too sharp catching my tank on the edge of the corner. Instead of letting me back up and make the correction, the noob keeps pushing me, making me block the passageway. Then another noob comes along and that one pushes me, too. Then starts shooting at me. 7...When I have the Overdrive star showing, noobs with their own star will bump me, block my sight, shoot me with recoil turrets...anything to get me to activate my OD. I'll share with someone who doesn't have a star, but I refuse to share with someone who can use their own. Okay, that's my say. What do noobs do that bugs you?
  16. I don't know, @Maf. That's not what it looked like to me. In CP, our team went over there like Gangbusters. No sniping, no peek-a-boos. In fact, I was the only sniper on my team.....Dictator/Shaft. But I couldn't do any sniping because my teammates were in the way. That's why I busied myself with changing the cp's. I was using speed boosts to get to the next cp before the Wasp/Magnum and Hornet/Freeze changed my previous cp and caught up with me. I tried killing them, but I didn't have time for a full charge. I was lucky to get a half charge off. On both of them, I was only getting 200 or less damage. Freeze charged me, taking a shot then encircling me while Magnum obliterated me. I tried to shoot the Magnum first, but the effort was wasted. By that time, Freeze was in back of me and Magnum just moved out of the way. My entire red team was on blue side getting pulverized. But they kept going back for more. In the end, the highest score on red team was about 168, while the second highest was less than 100. I checked my battle standings before I left and I was towards the bottom.
  17. I've seen that, too.

Players play TDM in CTF and CP battles

Why do entire teams play TDM when the battle is CTF or CP? It doesn't make sense. Surely they realize that it's the team with the most flags captured or the most cp's that wins the battle, not how many kills a team makes. Good example: I was just in a CP battle on Chernobyl map on red team. Our entire team was on the blue side playing TDM while the whole CP map was blue. Red team was no match head on with blue. Meanwhile, I'm running around trying to turn the blue cp's to red. But there were two blue players working together to turn them back to blue. With 6 minutes left in battle, I left. I was tired of trying to make the color changes by myself and getting killed repeatedly. The score was 15 to 35 blue's favor. From the lobby, I watched the score. When the battle ended score was 39 to 62 blue's favor. When I left, a player 2 ranks higher than me took my place. I've seen the same thing in CTF. I was on blue team and red was all over us like white on rice. They could have easily made a few flags while they were spawn killing us. But they didn't. Finally, we were able to overcome red team, went over to their base, made 2 flags and stayed at the red base. No further attempts to capture flags. Red came back to our base for some more TDM, but didn't make any flags. Had Red made a few flags while they were spawn killing us, they may have won. I understand building up the battle fund, but I don't understand why a whole team will lose sight of the objective.

What does your nickname REALLY mean?

First time I heard the word "tofu" I thought the person said "toad food" and wondered why people were eating it.

    FUNNY nicknames in tanki.....

Different connotations. Consider these simple sentences. I love you.......I hate you I love vegetables.......I hate vegetables Notice the the way the word "hate" feels? It conjures up bad feelings. To publically "hate" a person or group of people, can incite riots. A nickname is seen by the public, even though that public is only those in the game. Supposing that name went unreported. Others may think it's okay to use "hate" nicknames. Can you imagine how far that can go? As for "love" referring back to the examples above, did you notice how the word "love" feels? It conjures up good feelings. To publically "love" a person or group of people isn't as likely to instill bad feelings that could start riots. Do you see the difference? Next thing you know, there'll be countries hating countries and then the beginning of WWIII. Headlines in the newspaper will read (this is fictitious) ... Members of Tanki Online Incites WWIII Developers and Staff of Tanki Online, a Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) allowed players to create and change their nicknames to hate names, which changed the players love of the game into hatred towards each other. It wasn't long before Tanki Online became known as the hate game. When the Developers and Staff of Tanki Online realized what was happening it was too late and was forced to shut down. Tanki Online had space on Facebook, but that was shut down, too, because of the continued cancerous hatred between players. The hatred was continued in other chat rooms, resulting in hatred between countries. Do you see how hatred can escalate? The above fictitious article is not so far fetched.
  21. I go to the login page where you type in your nickname. Above that is a link "New Player" Click on that takes you where you can create a new account. Type in the nickname you want. If you get a green check mark, the name is available. A red X means it's taken.

I need a name for my second account!

You still haven't explained what one has to do with the other. Naturally, one doesn't pick a nickname they don't like. I wouldn't like an account with all numbers so I wouldn't apply that as a nickname, but that doesn't make me OCD about it. I'm trying to learn something, here. You're experienced with OCD, so I would like to know how one affects the other. I don't get the connection. If you would explain the connection between the two, maybe some of us could come up with better names for you.

I know what OCD is, but what does that have to do with picking a nickname? Please enlighten me.
