I was similar, but different. All my crystals went on paints and I only bought maybe 3 turrets and 3 hulls, most of them as kits. Then ranked up and eventually got locked out of buying the others as they now have to be bought as M3s at full price.

Yes but lately that 50x overdrives to earn 1x container at the end of it - which has for the last few weeks contained 125 mines - is pathetic. 25 battles.... for 125 mines. Why is it you're the only one that doesn't see everything that's wrong with that?

I've made a discovery. My Daily Missions for today: Earn 200 crystals in CTF = 10x DA & 10x Mines 5 CP points = 20x DD & 20x Mines Score 2000 points in battles = 10x Batteries Weekly Mission Use 50x Overdrives = 1 container & 1 Weekly Container The missions are worthless. The rewards are paltry at best, the container rewards (which have been nerfed) suck. The only thing of value is the crystal value of the weekly mission but even that doesn't offset the supplies used to earn it. My discovery is that I see absolutely no point whatsoever in doing any missions at all. I half expect "Swamp Gas" as the explanation for that, seeing as "wibble" is already taken.

When I first found out about it I went to take a look. And it's all in Russian so I walked away, unable to register, login or play. Had it been in English I wouldn't have.

That's half the problem - no one listens to the only ones whose opinion is relevant in all this.... the players. It's just constant "you're wrong" or "it's not how you see it, but what we devs/admins say it is." It's not "anything new" that keeps players in the game, it's "sameness" ie not finding the game turned on its head from one month to the next. It's rank that keeps players in the game - aiming for Legend, or Legend 20 etc, or earning crystals to buy equipment or MU it. People don't come to this game every day to see "what's new." When that finally filters into the heads of those making decisions (and those passing info to them) then Tanki stands a chance of a future. Because the "constant updating to evolve" isn't exactly working, is it? Alternativa's ethos right now seems to be "let's hit everything the players like." Keep doing that and all you'll be left with is a pile of broken bits. And no players.

That's not proof that the game isn't truly as bad as it really is. It's just proof that people come back because there's not a better version of Tanki elsewhere. Put a version of Tanki from say 2011 to 2016 out there and watch this version go belly-up overnight, literally.
-
Care to elaborate? Only because there's at least one admin that thinks people leaving is just coincidence, when we all know it's really down to the way the game is going.
-
In the early days spending too much crystals on stupid paints. And not MUing early enough.
-
Yeh, I'm the same. Want to leave, but there's nothing out there like Tanki. Left for 8 months last year when MM came in, but got pulled back in. Best wishes for the future, whatever you do.

Where has it gone wrong? I joined in February 2017. In that time I've seen: Teams reduced from 20-a-side to 8. I really miss the days when we had battles of 40 tanks. Good maps removed from non-Pro battle. I lived for large teams on Lost Temple Battle times reduced from 15 minutes to 7m (or less). Overdrives. In 2017 I don't remember drugs being so prevalent, and players having to depend on supply-drops. Constant nerfs. What you bought (and spent crystals MUing) then being devalued in later nerf updates. Drones Containers.... and container rewards going up.... and then massively down. Challenges. Crap rewards, zombie drugfest. MM. Which has a whole litany of downsides all on its own. I don't subscribe to the thought that Tanki "has to evolve or it becomes boring." Tanki has nothing else like it anywhere else; it's an arcade tank game. Every other tank game is focused on realism, whereas Tanki is purely an arcade and it *used* to have the fun-factor which doesn't exist outside of an arcade format. The constant crappy updates have evolved the fun-factor out of the game. Add new maps, add new tanks, add new turrets. Note "add" not "remove." Removing the things we liked in the game is not evolution, it's changing it into something we didn't join the game for.

This whole idea was made completely redundant the very moment Alternativa merged the EN and RU servers. What good is voice chat if pretty much all of your team and enemy are Russian-speakers?

In my experience the frequency of getting basic (common items) like SB, DA, DD and mines hasn't changed. But what has changed is the frequency of getting more desirable items like paints, GB etc.... which have gone down. I just went through all of the containers I've had since December and I'm getting longer streaks of the common items with fewer and fewer of anything else now. It's so bad that I don't even bother adding anything new to the "Container Project to Learn Reward Probabilities" thread because there's no point. I only do the missions now not for the worthless containers but for the crystals.
-
I think it is a good idea, however we need a fourth module shot. I wouldn't use/buy it if it meant losing one slot already taken up. Some turrets and alterations (ie Twin's Heavy Plasmagun) are more lethal to my own tank than the enemy at close quarters, so I'd welcome a fourth slot and a self-protection module.
-
I know, I got 125 SBs today from a weekly container. Don't think Tanki have thought this through.... if the container rewards are so crap, why the hell would anyone want to buy any from the shop? Bet they haven't sold many lately.
-
That's all very nice, obvs I'm just finding the ones not using said acceleration. I can never understand the ones, seeing a long pink stream of shots coming at them, that seem stunned enough not to move to the side.

Alexandrovsk CTF today, I was on the red base by the flag. A Hornet Railgun came over the ramp and landed just in front of our flag, whereupon I took him out with a blast of Plasmagun, and placed a mine a few feet from the flag, right where he, or anyone else, would land. Sure enough within a minute he was back, took off, landed, boom, gone. So I placed another mine. And it was the same result - he took off, landed, boom, gone. I didn't even have to fire. The best bit? He kept doing that, regular as clockwork - every time he spawned there he was, flying, boom, gone. Dunno how many times I killed him the same way in that one battle but it was comical. Wile-E-Coyote in Hornet form. If at first you don't succeed....... it's not working, so give it up.

Not enough of them in battles to be a big enough problem to need to equip a Dolphin mod, yet. That honour goes to Hammer, Rico and Thunder for me. I love how the Smoky brigade stick theirs on Hunters. No match for Splash n Dash.
-
Or, better still.... stop pushing Challenges on us at all. Period. The only tiers that kept me going through the first two Challenges were the container tiers. But the rewards from them now are pathetic. From tier 25 I got 125 DD, 125 DA, 125 Mines and 50 batteries. I'm at tier 25 but to be honest I won't be bothering to finish the current one. And I won't even start the next Challenge either.
