    A little lesson in Seige mode

    It is in siege that I realize how many ppl use viking....titan would be powerless if more hunters would clear the area, but those domes go up, and theres little that most ppl can do. Im usually circling the base, picking off stragglers, waiting for the dome to go down so i can deliver the payload of bombing death. With a hunter or two, I can get in there more easily

  3. It is funny you say that. Literally got out of a battle where someone yelled speed hack and saw a wasp zip by...really fast, but then again...wasp is really fast. We barely won so I cant see the enemy using hacks. A lot of time I see someone yell hacker and I look at the alleged hacker and they have like 80 points and have 6/13 k/d or something...I dont think that person is hacking
  4. One thing that is nice for hackers is that any time anyone is even sorta using a hack, (which I have yet to see) someone will yell "speed hacker" in chat so the hacker knows to stop ?
  5. On a side note, many many times ill see a wasp just random poop out a bomb in the middle of our base with no enemies around. Hilarious
  6. So, most of the overdrives bring some decision making to a battle. Do i: 1: Expect to be facing lots of mid to long range turrets and want the protection that Titan offers, while losing to hunters and hornets, or 2: Expect to be facing down short range turrets where the deathtouch immediately ends any attack. These overdrives are excellent and well designed. Medium Hulls: 1: Want extra firepower? Viking is the best. 2. Want to completely break attacks or defenses? Hunter is great! 3: Want extra supplies and help the team succeed? Dictator's OD is great! Again, decently well designed. Light Hulls: 1: Want to obliterate enemy tanks with high damage at long range? Hornet is best. 2. Want to obliteate enemy tanks at short range? Well...hornet is still the best

    So despite being the two probably most powerful, hornet and hunter have close to the fastest recharge rate. I would suggest that if you add, maybe even 30 seconds to hornet's OD timer, it would remove probably 1 full overdrive from any given battle which would decrease the helplessness that battles sometimes take when hornets all have their OD's going
  8. You know, I think I must humble myself and suggest that @wolverine was correct when it comes to overdrives. I dont tend to like effects like these as they give more bonuses to the team who is already winning, but inherrently they arent terrible, and the more I play with most of them, I really like them. The heavy overdrives are amazing...i keep going back between titan and mamoth for defense because they are each good in different roles. The medium overdrives I think are finally balanced and dont break the battle. One exception: Hornet. I was sooo excited that a light hull got an overdrive that allowed it to do well in battles. However, this dumb OD really needs to be looked at....it completely removes player agency. Magnum with OD looks at your titan with 50% under dome and armor? One shot, dead. Almost every battle that is a blowout, is that because of this hull. Yes, light hulls should have some good overdrives too, but right now, good defenses whither under hornet/magnum fire and they cant do anything to stop it.

    Yes....I've played my account on several of them and several people's accounts have been played on the same IP...point is, this would become a mess

    Then the legends with alt accounts will get those buff too. A new account and an alt account are identical. Edit: currently at 4 straight 5-0 ctf battles. The best format in tanki is full of blowouts. The last one was 6v8 for at least half of the battle

    I dont think this is possible...I also hate when I see high rank ppl showing screenshots of them wrecking low ranks with an alt account

    I agree with a lot of this, except I like the idea of building a good account, and I don't really like the idea of legends going to wreck noobs in lo ranks

    I dont. I've got almost full m4s, but still battles are blowouts. If you spawn in, your two teammates get insta killed and now there are 3 attackers in your base...nothing you can do

    I'm seeing this stuff at legend rank battles. A few days ago i was 6/7 battles that ended 5-0.

    This....100% this. How is rugby different from ctf....how is siege functionally different from CP. CTF and CP are in my opinion the two base game types, and the best. If we got rid of all those other ones, mm would be helped. I know ppl like jugg, so thats probably got to stay

    There are a ton of games where 1 team has gear score in the mid 9,000's and the other has players with gear averaging in 7,000s

    Wait...this is news to me. So the more I win, I will get placed against higher opponents and vice versa. Is gear score involved in that?

    Sadly I would agree. When you add tons of variables besides player skill into a game, you will get lopsided battles. Overdrives reward you for doing well, so those who are OP at the beginning, they will be even more OP as the first rounds of OD's roll in. Add in drones, and some players are going to get wrecked no matter how well they play. One factor that is NOT in this is supplies. Everyone has them, so if you don't use them, that factors into your ability more than not
  20. I dont...I always say "nice bomb" when they do get me bc it hardly ever happens. Not because of my skill, but bc i just drive away from it. Also, we say competent wasps and we typically mean someone who will be midpack with an 8/10 k/d at best. A good hornet can be top score with 22/6 k/d...same with viking, and hunter, etc. I've never seen that from wasp players...usually they go like 3/10 for 60 points ?
  21. Interesting thread. I love using wasp but acknowledge that when I do, I'm essentially not using an overdrive that battle. Hornet's overdrive is alone the reason to play it. You might not play a hull for its overdrive, but others are. Unfortunately, with overdrives being so powerful, they do overshadow the inherent features of the hulls. That update was not a mistake, just, not one that I like. What would be cool would be if there were light overdrives, medium and heavy ones. Titan and mamoth could pick between dome or deathtouch Wasp/hornet= bomb or ignore protection Medium hulls the same. Such would allow people to use hulls as they like, rather than hulls like wasp forced into the suicide role, or ppl picking viking bc of the simple nature of its OD. Now that I saw that out loud, I really like that idea
  22. I definitely like that titan domes can be disabled by other titans. It is a very powerful effect so good that it can be countered.
  23. If people are being nobs, much like not using supplies, its kinda on them. Altho you are right that it wasnt communicated very well to re-equip modules

    Yep at this point Im doing just missions in MM. the rest of the time will be pro battles, since MM just arent good battles. So swingy. Occasionally you will get a ctf battle that is 1-0 because both teams have tough defenses, but many of those defenses melt under magnum fire, so those games are rare.
