    Ideas for Turrets!

I played a tank game several years ago, it has gone defunct. One of the higher ranked advance weapons was a Claw. You had to have the largest tank available in order to handle it. There was a claw on the right and left front of the tank that closed and met in the center of the tank. It could pick up small and medium tanks with ease, but the larger tanks posed a small problem It could pick the tank up but not carry it very far. After picking up the tank, you could dump it on any of the traps and even over the side of the battle area. There was a short wire fence that you could actually put a tank into. In Tanki, there aren't any traps you can dump a tank into, but some maps, like Island, don't have a wall around it, so a tank could be dumped over the side. There are a few possibilities, though. It could crush a tank, but the captured tank can still shoot you while it's being crushed. Another possibility is the captured tank could he held while your team made Swiss cheese out of it, freeze it, cook it, or it's life's blood (fluids) sucked out of it by Isida (or whatever an Isida does). Of course it would have to be close range. Even that can be extended some if the tank had the ability to stretch out the claw a short distance. To keep it balanced, The Claw couldn't have an immediate crushing blow, The crushing would have to be rather slow to give the captured tank time to do some damage to you. While it's reloading, it could be used ram a tank, but doesn't do a whole lot of damage. I'd be like putting a dent in the tank. I can see where this would be an irritant to the opposing team (and your teammates) because if the Claw hits the rear quarter panel, it could knock of the aim. Just some ideas off the top of my head. I don't mean to steal you post, I'm just giving you some food for thought. Maybe some of the other players can contribute some other ideas for you to build your tank.
  2. I gave you a "like" but I can do this only once, so here's +1 +1. Thank you for expressing that.

One thing I like about Magnum, it proposes a challenge for me. Magnum users usually have a weak tank. They think that hiding behind a wall is all they need for protection. I have fairly good protection against a non-drugging Magnum and will seek them out to give them a taste of my lead. If I can't kill Magnum, at least I can keep him occupied for a while and let my teammates make goals, grab flags, etc. It's a tactical maneuver.

    Thunder vs. Vulcan

Vulcan users didn't ask for a damage buff, we asked for a heat suppressor. Devs gave us a damage buff thinking that would solve the overheating, however, along with the damage buff, we also got a longer turning barrel which put us in a suicide tank. I get killed by Isida, Firebird, Freeze, Hammer before I can get the first shot off. I have protection M2 for all of those turrets, but it doesn't do much good.
  5. I didn't play any battles yesterday, but I did see something stupid in lobby chat. A player was talking to another player and spamming "iloveyouiloveyou......" for about 5 lines. The other player told him to get lost. The spammer did it again. The victim told the spammer that he (I assume it was a he) was about to go on her (I assume it was a she) ignore list. He spammed again. Another player told him that if he didn't stop he would get banned. The spammer said, "No I won't. There's no Mod." Then he spammed, "Everyone fofofofofofofo...." for another 5 lines or so. He was banned for a week.

    Thunder vs. Vulcan

Vulcan has no defence against close range weapons: Isida, Firebird, Freeze, Hammer. With all of them, I'm dead before I fire my first shot. Yesterday, I was playing RGB. My team had the ball and were trying to make a TOUCHDOWN!!! I was killing off the enemy at their base. We got the TOUCHDOWN!!! My health was low, so I loaded a RK. An Isida/Wasp came around the corner, got right up in my face without fear, because as we both knew, I would be dead before I got off the first shot. The same with Firebird and Freeze. They don't even bother to encircle me anymore, as with the Isida, they know I'm an easy kill without any effort. Before, I could at least get a few shots in before I entered the next realm for my rebirth. What we asked for was heat suppression, what we got was a suicide machine.
  7. I made that suggestion a few months ago. I suggested that the paints be sorted by price. As it is now, there's expensive paints mixed in with inexpensive paints and visa versa. Most players know how much they want to spend on paint, but may not know the name of them. Sorting alphabetically would still have players searching through all the paints trying to find one they can afford.

    Ideas for Turrets!

Another effect it could have is to increase the freeze of the Freeze turret (as if it really needs it ). It could have alterations to give it a slight (very slight) freeze affect and one for boiling water, giving it a slight heat effect. It won't much, but maybe enough to finish what Freeze or Firebird started for the clean kill. How about a battle mode Water Cannon mode? If enough Water Cannons attack another Water Cannon the engine would drown out (or something like that). Another thought: Supposing you're attacking an enemy tank with the Water Cannon and a Firebird on your team decides to attack that same tank. Would your Water Cannon reduce the effects of the Firebird?

TO Battle Pass may be coming!

Really? What does it smell like to you? I have M2 Thunder and to me it just smells like bare metal. Do you smell hearts and flowers?
  11. Looking through the Shaft scope is like looking through a magnifying glass. Everything is magnified significantly.
  12. They can move slightly off to one side, out of line of fire without you realizing it. I'm not advocating get rid of flame or fog, just making them slightly transparent making the attacking tank more like a shadow to show movement.
  13. On Industrial Zone, is the roof of the quonset hut in red base a destruct area in regular battles?
  14. Meanwhile, the battle is still going on and both teams are out a player because they are busy insulting each other.
  15. I have read that many times, some of it doesn't apply to me, so I will say I've done most of it. But that doesn't really solve the problem, does it? I had absolutely no problems until about the time Juggernaut as implemented. I'm not saying that's the cause, this is only a time reference. During the last month, things have gotten worse, as I have listed. Please answer these questions: Why would I have no problems, then overnight, I started having lag? Why is it getting worse? I have a clean machine, so don't tell me how to reduce lag. Here, again, it's everybody else's problem and none with the game site. When the game crashes because problems weren't addressed efficiently, then who are you going to blame? Is this how the office conversation will transpire?: Worker #1: The game crashed! It just....crashed!! Worker #2: Why? Worker #1: It's because no one cleaned their caches nor did they do as they were told in "How to reduce lag." The game is good, no problems there, so it must be because everyone's computer is messed up. That's what caused the crash. At least that's the message that is being sent to us. It's all our fault and none of yours. This reminds me of a friend I had. No matter what she said, right or wrong, she was always right and everyone else was always wrong. Even when expert proof was sitting right in front of her, the experts were wrong and she still laid claim to being right. Tanki is the friend and everyone else is us.
  16. What's wrong with TDM? I clicked on it and a popup said the the server you are trying to connect with is unavailable. I clicked on it a few minutes later and the button wouldn't push. Played another battle, went back to TDM and waited over 3 minutes (I was watching TV), it never connected.
  17. Also known as Psychological Warfare.
  18. I've been having problems with some lag since the introduction of Juggernaut. In the past month, the lag has gotten worse and other problems have started to appear. 1...Lag has gotten a lot worse, not so much in performance like driving, but more in what I see. Players suddenly speeding across the screen like they are wearing jet packs 2...Spinning turrets. This can happen at most any time, while shooting, driving, after respawning. But I'm able to move, shoot (no damage), push other tanks. 3...Black screen. When there are spinning turrets and sometimes when everyone is darting around at breakneck speed, I get a black screen without any messages, no popups. At times, everything can be acting normal and suddenly I have a black screen. 4...After getting the black screen, I reload the tab. The loading bar is very slow, usually fully loads, but sometimes it doesn't and I have to reload again. Most times the second reload is successful, occasionally it isn't. I have tried a third reload, but that is never successful. So, if the second reload doesn't work I leave the game site and come back much later. I play a couple other games out of Europe and I have never had any of these problems. A player on the forums said that Tanki is designed so that it can run on a "potato" computer. Meaning it can be played on older models running older OS. Some players are still running XP. I have a gaming computer that is not a potato and has the latest version of Windows 10. I use my computer in my business. I have to have a machine that is squeaky clean and I keep it that way. I have all the computer program updates set at a certain time. Another program designed to keep my computer uncluttered runs weekly. However, once a week I'll manually go into these programs to check on updates and run decluttering features. When I do this double check, I'll clean all the caches, including Flash. Defragmentation is one of the programs that runs automatically, but I'll run it manually anyway. I check my antivirus to see what has been captured and if anything needs attention. Anything harmful is quarantined. At least once a month, occasionally twice a month, I'll reboot my cable box. I, also, check my temp files and delete the ones no longer needed. Two weeks ago, to make sure all this isn't caused by my computer, I called my ISP to have them check out their system. I didn't tell them that the problems I was having was with one game site. I told them that I was experiencing some lag and being booted out of what I was doing. The workman checked all the cables and connections outside of my home. He said that, at that time, the signal was slightly weak, but not enough to cause the problems I was describing. However, he put a signal booster on the line anyway. I have a friend that is a Computer Geek and it's his business to know computers upside down, inside out and right side in. His business is the best in town and constantly has a 5 star rating. Other companies in this area can only hope to be as good as his. When he checks my computer, I'm a paying customer, not a friend. I had him check over my computer last week and he said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. When I complain about all the problems I'm having with this game site, I'm insulted with links on how to clean caches and how to prevent lag. I am highly convinced that the problem lies with Tanki, not with my computer. The Developers can hide their head in the sand, hide under a rock or create a dreamland in their brain and pretend the problem doesn't exist. It does exist and cannot be ignored any longer. This has been going on much too long. I understand that they are working diligently on transforming the game to HTML5 and problems will come up. But at which point will they wake up and start solving these problems? When the game goes HTML5, release it to the public and THEN work on the problems that arose while doing the reprogramming? By then, the problems will be too overwhelming. Wouldn't it make more sense to solve problems as they arise? I build very large Doll Houses as a hobby. If I make a mistake in measurements and I see that the house isn't going together properly, wouldn't it make more sense to rectify the problem right then and not after the house is built? It seems to me that you are building a house on a foundation meant for that size of house. Now, you are adding more stories to this house, making it a skyscraper, without reinforcing the foundation. Some of the major cracks are filled with cement patch (a bandaid at best) and the minor ones (or the ones you consider minor) are ignored. The minor cracks soon become major ones and, again, a bandaid is applied. You may think you have an endless supply of bandaids, but a time will come when those won't work, anymore. That's when your whole structure will come tumbling down when it's least expected. Then who are you going to blame? Our computers? Okay, I'm taking my soapbox and going home. EDIT: I understand that the Devs or those responsible for checking out the game, play on occasion, but amongst each other and probably on a private server. I don't know if the Russians have any problem with lag. I suggest, if you know of anyone you can trust on this side of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, have them play this game as any of us would, without any boosters or the like coming from you. Let them critique the game. I forgot to mention that I have run 3 different speed checks by 3 different companies from Florida, USA to Malta and back. All agree that there is some lag and sometimes not all packets arrive.

    Future of Tanki

Tanki Discord will close, too. Another place where wisecracks won't be seen nor heard.

    Designers Obsession with Supplies

That's my point in my previous post. The features were not specifically meant for the buyers, but rather for the newbys and non-buyers to get a good supply of.....well.....supplies. Just because you're swimming in them doesn't mean everyone else is. Do you do missions? Stop doing them and your supplies will go down. Do you go after containers? Stop and your supplies will go down. Whatever you are doing to keep your supplies up, stop doing it and your supplies will go down. Get the message? Then after your supplies are used up, come back here and repost this topic. Now get out there and drug like an addict (using your supplies, not real world drugs).
  21. If you're one to keep up with K/D, bare in mind that will change, too.

    Topics to talk about

Most conversations in the lobby are done in private chat. The lobby is not the living room, bedroom, phone, etc. where friends are gathered and a topic comes up for discussion. It's players making comments, asking a another player a question or a question in general for anyone to answer. It's players looking for certain players. You won't find discussions about the ballgame over the weekend, play-by-play recounts. The forum is the place for discussions, conversations, debates, an exchange of ideas, a meeting of the minds. Most players in chat are taking a break between battles and are not there for conversations.
  23. You didn't really expect me to list all of the Countries of the world...Did you? I was making a short comparaison. I went back to the internet and researched a little deeper. As far as world obesity goes, it depend on which website you go to, all claiming to have the latest findings. I looked at 4 different websites from 4 different organizations and none of them had Saudi Arabia as #1 in obesity. Nor did those 4 websites show United States as #1, either as did the one I was quoting before. Sorry, I didn't do a more thorough search when I responded the first time. One website went by BMI, the others didn't say how they came about their findings.

    Designers Obsession with Supplies

The increase in supplies and different ways to obtain and use them was created because so many non-buyers wanted a way to get supplies and still have crystals left over for MUs. This is NOT a slap in the face against non-buyers. They had a legitimate complaint and the Devs tried to accommodate them a little by introducing missions, containers, OD, increase in funds and now Nuclear drops. Of course, these are open to buyers as well, but they do give the non-buyers' a little easier row to hoe.
  25. You don't need a big ego to rage quit. I've been trying for 3 days to get top three on winning team. Here's why it's been so difficult: 1...MM puts me into a battle that's half over, on the losing team. After 5 in a row, regardless of battle mode, I rage quit Tanki for awhile. 2...Battle starts from the beginning. My team takes the defensive and never goes offense. When the score gets to be a big gap and my team's score is 0, yes, I rage quit. 3...My team is playing CTF/TDM, CP/TDM, RGB/TDM, ASL/TDM blue. What I'm getting at, is they play TDM and ignore the objectives completely. They don't go after the flag, don't change cp colors, don't try to grab the ball or ignore the ball carriers altogether and no one at the base to prevent a TOUCHDOWN!!, ASL blue trying to kill the opposing team but ignores the flag bearers. These losing teams deserve to lose and they certainly don't need my help to do it. I'm not there for the xp or the crystals, I'm there to complete a mission. Yes, I holler at my monitor and call my team a few unsolicited names (at the monitor, not in chat) and I rage quit. 4...When the opposing team is OP with supplies and my team seems to have none or don't share their OD. I don't rage quit, I just quit. However, if I'm not working on missions or a mission can be completed on a losing team, then I'm less likely to quit. So, don't start flambasting me as a quitter.
