  1. The English Community... I could write an article on this. But you'll be glad to hear I won't. My honest thoughts on this community are likely to be disagreed with, but they are my opinions. I've seen the community progress from the matter of a Shadow Strikers xat chat, to a massive global community. I must admit, people may agree with what fool4krist says, and I do to an extent, but I feel that a community can't thrive without some mature people who act immaturely. If everyone was mature, there would be not so much fun in the community. Currently, the forum is decidedly average. Many of the posters who used to post relevantly and spend time posting on topics to help people have gradually left the scene, and we are left with people who often aren't even interested in giving a decent answer to any sort of discussion topic. The Forum, in particular, has grown dull, in recent times, but it remains to have a lot of potential. Reading my article about the English Community in the latest issue of the newspaper may give you a flavour of what I feel the forum has become. The perfect example of a forum who gets the balance between sense and stupidity is the Casual Collective. If you read the threads on the forum, most of them are just random pointless posts from mature people who troll for enjoyment, but not to hurt people. However, don't get me wrong - I love the community on Tanki, and I wouldn't give it up for anything. It keeps me in the game. I appreciate the generally interesting and friendly atmosphere around the forum, and the chats are often interesting (if beers online :P) My opinion in summary: The Forum is very fun, but doesnt fulfill its full potential. If people got the balance between being too mature, and taking a troll/joke, then it would be far better. I have to admit that the Community has much to improve on, but in all honesty, I wouldn't be here without the fun social life that I have on Tanki.
  2. I believe the reason was due to a family situation, though I cannot be sure.

    What is your hair color?

How many times do I have to tell people... Blond is NOT a hair colour. The word is Blonde. LEARN IT.

    Review : Update 1.100's birthday

Just because this is in Off Topic means it gets far more popularity than all the newspaper articles. :P
  9. Great interview guys, particularly the answers. My question, though it cant be voted up, would be: "Why are you so adamant about not joining a team or clan, and getting to know Tanki players better?"
  10. Grabbing writing, Val, couldn't stop reading. Really really good job.
  11. Did you read the article...? No. He resigned.

Hmm my turn. I loaded in the battle and a Thunder I did see; running with our flag, with a look of victory. But his confidence grew sombre as he noticed with a scream, that glowing from my Railgun was a bright and yellow beam. The little tank exploded, and I gave a shout of joy as I drove near to return it, like a little eager boy but just as I drew close to it, I drove into a mine And my meager tank exploded as my death count rose to nine.

    Stories & Poems

Have a couple of nice and ol' poems to share with you that got some decent feedback: Half Asleep Half Asleep yet half awake, I lie on my bed, drifting on a lake. The sounds that I hear, sound ever so loud; with my neighbour talking, to what seems a crowd. I hear my mother cooking my brother’s birthday cake. And that’s when I notice, I’m still awake! I listen to the cars, as they pass quickly by, and the noise from the rugby ground, as someone scores a try. I hear my brother Michael (Skit) climb quickly up the stairs. and hear my father talking, but can’t catch what he says. And suddenly everything’s quiet, and I give a loud yawn; not to open my eyes, till the noise of dawn. The Cricket Match Read this out loud It wasnt a bright outlook for the home fans that day, the Danger Guns were losing by a very long way, the Cauldron Blues, as underdogs, didnt know what to say, as they easily were outclassing them, but only playing OK. There were only 7 overs left, and they had their last men in, and they needed 100 runs in order to win. Half of the stadium’s fans had left and no joy was seen in the ground, apart from in the away section, where we heard all the sound. So the last two men, Masif and Dale, had an extremely hard task And everyone expected, to win was more than they could ask. But after the first over, the pair had bagged 10 runs. and there was now a glimmer of hope for the Danger Guns. So the Danger Guns attacked, and seemed doing really well, Espescially Dale was doing good and no wicket had yet fell. So, when the third over had gone, they had gathered sixty runs, an incredible feat for the batters; there was now chance for the Danger Guns. And Masif and Dale kept up their pace with a sixer right away, and the Cauldron Blues bowlers just couldnt keep the two at bay. So, at the end of the fourth over, ten more runs had just been got, and for just two small batters, it was a mighty lot. Two more overs went quickly by and the fans were going mad, for the two had got 17, which wasnt just a tad; and as the last over started, and with 14 runs to win, it seemed an impossible task – yet again! So in the final over, two runs were immediately in, and after just a ball, twelve runs remained to win! But in the next three bowls, the batters could get none, and the task ahead, seemed an impossible one. So with two balls left, two sixes were the aim; if the Danger Guns wanted to win the game. So Dale stood at the bat with steel in his eye, and hit the ball with power; it almost hit the sky! The ball went out for a six and celebrations came, but still the Guns needed, six from one to win the game. So Dale stood at the bat again and looked fierce in his face, but when the ball came, it came with so much pace! Yet still Dale took it brilliantly, and it seemed destined for a six, but still there was a fielder, Arph, who had to do a trick; if he wanted to stop it, he had to be brave, and so he jumped, all of his strength he gave……… And he caught the ball with triumph on his face, and all Dale could do was smile and grimace. And the Cauldron Blues went crazy and celebrated in delight; and what a game it was, on that very crucial night. The Race The sun had dawned in Misendon the fans were ready for the big day Yes, a 3.00 start it was, yet they were there before midday. It was the day of the important race - the race worth waiting for, only three cars still were in it, T4, Bombshell and Lor. So as the countdown for the race started, the fans in the crowd watched on while the cars prepared for racing, knowing none of them could lose this one… The lights showed green., the cars raced off, as fast as they had ever gone and as T4 took the lead, the pit crew celebrated like he’d won!! But after an hour of racing, still, the cars were neck-to-neck and even though none had had a stop, none were looking like a wreck. In fact, they all looked fit as ever, they looked like they could never stop, but finally Lor lost his breath, and was the first to go to the pit stop. But when he arrived there, the pit crew found, Lor had broken his side in a skid, so sadly he had to pull out of the race, leaving two to fight for the win… So with six laps left, the two of them, were facing a hard decision, should they quickly have a rest, or try their hardest of the line, to keep vision… Bombshell went for the easy choice, and had a quick stop in the pits but T4 decided to go for it, though he was longing for a quick spit. So T4 was now way ahead of Bombshell but was quickly losing his breath, and as he entered the last lap, he realized how much he wanted a rest… But he remembered the need to win the race and so his composure he kept, ‘But for how long?’, he wondered, as he watched Bombshell get unlapped, But T4 kept on going, until the final stretch, where he lost the little energy he needed to complete, So Bombshell overtook him, practically on the line, and now I’m gonna leave the commentary seat….. FOR BOMBSHELL HAS WON! These are poor poems, generally, because I wrote them when I had just gone 12. Especially the last one.
