Patch Update #564 - Released 18th July 2019 Changes in the balance of turrets and overdrives: Gauss: Increased aiming recovery time from 1 second to 2 seconds. Freeze: Reduced time of full cylinder discharge from 7 seconds to 6.5 seconds. "Plasma-torch” Alteration for Ricochet: Now reduces the speed of projectiles by 50% instead of 66%. “Berserk” Alteration for Ricochet: Now increases the power of shots by 30% instead of 80%. “Slugger” Alteration for Hammer "Slugger»: Now reduces turret rotation speed by 30% instead of 70%. “Dragon’s Breath” Alteration for Hammer: Now each pellet heats the target by 0.3% instead of 0.2%. “High-capacity ammo clip” Alteration for Hammer: Now increases magazine reload time by 15% instead of 35%. TL;DR: Flash is being phased out, but you still have a few options if you wanna play Tanki Online. Details below. Tankers, As you know, Tanki Online was built on Flash technology. Unfortunately, in July, the Chrome browser will once again be upgraded, and running Flash will become a bit more complicated than it is now. And it will also be more problematic. We currently have a working HTML5 version of Tanki Online, but we’re not quite happy with its performance yet. So, we have been rebuilding the HTML5 version that —according to preliminary estimates— will work faster than Flash and than the current html5. Moreover, it will correct some of the so-called “early-life problems” still currently plaguing the game's architecture. In short, it will be faster, cooler and more stable. However, the new HTML5 version is still in the works. So in the meantime, you’ll have a few different options for playing Tanki Online. Option 1 - Game Client The first option is the game client. Visit the Tanki Online homepage and click on the big «Download» button at the top right of the page. Or you can download the client directly from this link. Download and install the Tanki client. The Tanki Online icon will appear on your desktop. Log into your account with your username and password, and start playing. The client also has the option to remember your login details. Pretty handy. Option 2 - Chrome The second option is a bit of a headache, and you’ll only be able to do it AFTER Version 76 of Chrome is rolled out. You will need to go to Chrome settings, look for Flash and click on «Allow». Next, you’ll have to go to the Tanki Online homepage and click “Play”. When the game window appears, you’ll have to click on the padlock icon and click «Allow». And, every time you restart your browser, you’ll need to do the thing with the padlock again. Yes, it’s a bit of a pain, but if you absolutely want to play on the Chrome browser, you'll just have to put up with it. Option 3 - The current HTML5 version Your third option is to use the existing HTML5 version. Remember, this version is not optimized, so it probably won’t work well on older computers. All you need to do is click here, login and play. You’ll notice some very minor differences from the Flash game — mainly the fonts. And remember, you’ll need a computer with a decent graphics card to run it. So make sure you’re prepared with one of these three options in July, because with the Chrome update, Flash is expected to become problematic. Some additional news Once we launch the new HTML5 version, we also plan on re-working the game interface. It will be more informative, and easier to understand and navigate. Tankers! Tomorrow, June 14, we’ll be implementing tweaks to the balance of Overdrives and Gauss. We’ll also be reworking the distribution of points in Gear Score. Gauss Gauss was released a week ago, and after carefully observing its performance in the game, we’ll be fixing some minor bugs and adjusting some of its characteristics as follows: slightly changed the speed of the projectile in standard shooting mode; increased the effectiveness of splash damage when firing in special mode; increased damage spread of special shots; slightly reduced the time required to acquire target in special mode; greatly accelerated cooldown of special shots. Additional Changes (see patch notes at the end of this announcement) Isida Points received for repairing allies increased from 10 to 12. Mammoth Overdrive Now this Overdrive will charge almost 1.5 times faster and gives a little more speed boost than before, but its active time is reduced from 10 seconds to 5 seconds. Wasp Overdrive Slightly increased Overdrive recharge rate (by approximately 11%). Gear Score Gear Score has been adjusted so that most of the points are awarded for the improvement of the most important components of the tank — the turret and the hull. Now points are awarded as follows: Turret — from 0 to 4000 Hull — from 0 to 4000 Each protection module — from 40 to 400 Drone — from 50 to 500 Each supply (except gold box) — from 0 to 40 Turret/Hull skin — 15 Alteration — 15 (EDITED) Shot effect — 15 Legendary paint — 14 Epic paint — 9 Rare paint — 5 Ordinary paint — 1 Small changes in maps Overall height of the Highway map has been reduced and the ramps have been modified to make it more challenging to shoot across the whole length of the map. Tankers! It’s been a pretty hectic month at Tanki HQ with all the celebrations we’ve prepared for you. The Gauss Turret is a weapon that sits somewhere between a Thunder and a Shaft. It has two firing modes — a regular shot that can be fired on the fly, and a special shot that requires target acquisition. The regular shot isn’t instant, but it’s pretty fast and packs a respectable punch. The special shot is instant, has a powerful impact force (even more than Thunder) and can potentially 2-shot kill a same-level Viking hull. Gauss promises some very interesting tactical gameplay, and due to its versatility it can easily fill multiple roles in battle — from infiltrator to mid-field, and even defensive. And with its powerful impact force, we’re expecting some amazing applications in Parkour too. Other fun facts about Gauss In movies, you often hear the phrase, “If you hear the bullet, it wasn’t meant for you”. If a Gauss fires at you but misses, you’ll hear a bone-chilling whistle as the projectile rips the air close to you. It’s a reminder that you need to get out of there, because you won’t hear the next one. Unlike Striker and Shaft, Gauss does not use a laser pointer, which makes it a deadly stealth killer. Thankfully, Gauss has a moving element that indicates when it’s preparing its deadly special shot. That is, unless it sneaks up from behind you. Tankers! The 10th birthday of our beloved Tanki Online is just around the corner. We’ve prepared an avalanche of cool stuff for you, including fun in-game activities and contests with amazing prizes. But there’s more! With the server restart on May 31, a new drone will be joining the current roster, and two maps will be getting MM versions. Additionally, the minimum rank for purchasing drone batteries will be lowered to Sergeant, and new prizes will be added to containers. Here are the details. New maps Two familiar maps —Stadium and Chernobyl— are receiving MM versions. The new version of Stadium now makes it tougher to one-shot enemies on respawn points. Chernobyl has been thoroughly reworked to better fit the matchmaking scenario. Additionally, this map now features visuals from the prop library of a few other maps including Future and Rio. New Drone The new drone is called “Brutus”, and it differs from other drones in that it has no special powers. Brutus is a generic drone. It becomes available for purchase before any other drone, costs less, and is also cheaper to upgrade. It gives its owner two very simple but important boosts — increased damage and increased protection. The difference here is that its boosts are double those of regular drones — from 1 to 10 percent (instead of the 5% maximum that other drones give you), depending on the upgrade level. And as we stated earlier, batteries will now be available to purchase from the rank of Sergeant, so you don’t need to worry about Brutus running out of juice. Container Rewards Great news for those of you who love the thrill of opening containers. All of the awards from the May Challenge are now available from containers.
