Episode 99 of the V-LOG is here

That's because the V-LOG was shot earlier this week, and the most updated information is in the official thread. I'm considering a Hindi version. But the person doing the translation needs to fulfill. certain prerequisites. I'll open applications for Unofficial Translators soon; hopefully next week when the whole situation is a little more relaxed. Link is in the V-LOG description. Not really no. We spoke about the Paints update, and you're free to continue discussing it in the forum thread. The V-LOG is too short to get into too many details. On right now Price still to be determined.

    Paint Separation Update

I love this idea. Can't promise programmers will want to implement it, but I personally really like it. 1. We'll be dealing with that issue soon. Devs already on it 2. We'll be addressing that soon. You know me better than that. You know I get things done around here, and I don't sugar-coat things. As I said, I can't promise all of the player requests will be fulfilled, but I'm doing my best to build a solid case for the community. :) Thanks. Needed to hear that. :)

    Paint Separation Update

Hey all, Now that the onslaught of posts has somewhat slowed down, and I can sort of keep up, I'd like to address some concerns. First of all, I understand that many of you are frustrated for a number of valid reasons. You're unhappy about the new prices; about the special paints and how their protections have been reworked; about how how the R key is too far away and how it's not practical to use when there are lots of tankers on screen or your opponent is too far away; about how the update has turned around the whole "strategy" mechanic; and lots of other things. Guys, I get it. And it's taken me so long to reply because I've been trying to digest all of it, and that's a pretty big meal. Now, let me explain the situation. Together with the moderators team, we've been going through all of your comments and organizing them into a document, which is now in the hands of the developers. The document includes not only the things that you dislike, but also WHY you dislike them, and what you're suggesting we do to change them. In short, we've presented your feedback in a way that is clear, logical, and easy to understand and digest. I believe that if we want change, this is the best way to achieve it. Of course, I am not in a position to promise you that all of your requests will be fulfilled. But I promise you that I'll do my best to achieve a balance that works well for everyone. I trust I have your support in this matter.

Episode 99 of the V-LOG is here

Tankers! It’s been a pretty intense week, but the V-LOG is here to lead us into the weekend. In this episode, we’ll be telling you more about the crazy Monday that opened up our week with a cold shower. We’ll also be telling you about new and upcoming updates, and also something about the “6” key. Check out episode 99 below! I'm just trying to narrow it down, that's all. It's impossible to keep track of all the text in all these pages. I need to condense it into point form, THEN I can elaborate on it.

I've forwarded that feedback already. Will be addressed in next week's kits. Will be taken into consideration. Will pass on the feedback. Makes sense. Will pass on the feedback.

    Paint Separation Update

Guys, Bear with me, it's really hard to keep up with all the posts coming in. By the time I read one page, another 5 sprout :D Help me out here. I need to figure out EXACTLY what you like and what you dislike about this update. Do you like the idea of being able to use any paint pattern with your preferred Protection Module? Just quote this line and say "Yes" or "No" Do you like the idea of being able to see your opponent's protections? Just quote this line and say "Yes" or "No" Making protections visible takes away the element of surprise to an extent. But do you feel it could potentially open up new aspects of game play? Just quote this line and say "Yes" or "No" Also, in VERY BRIEF point form, what else do you love or hate about this update. Just write a brief point and write "Love" or "Hate" at the end. Please, help me help you. I can't read 97 walls of texts. It's bad enough i have to deal with the huge emails @Issho_Fujitora sends me :D

    Paint Separation Update

Hey all, I wanna address the issue of kits. I understand that the current kits have been very badly affected by this update. However, I've been informed that the new batch of kits coming next week will be assembled in such a way so as not to be affected. Unfortunately I don't have the exact details of what these kits will contain. We'll have to wait till they're released next week. But rest assured that the pricing issues are being taken into consideration.

    Paint Separation Update

===UPDATED 13:30 UTC July 14th - Info about Champion, Silver, Bronze, Acid, Star, Helper Paints=== (Also added in original post) Hi everyone, Quick update about what will be happening to the Champion, Silver, Bronze, Acid, Star and Helper Paints. The current owners of these paints will be receiving Protection Modules as follows: Owners of the Champion Paint will receive a module with 25% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Silver Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Bronze Paint will receive a module with 15% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Acid Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Star Paint will receive a module with 15% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Helper Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines Important points to note: Before the update, the Champion, Silver, Bronze, Acid and Helper paints were temporarily awarded to players who held a specific position or status in the game (e.g. eSports champion or Helper), and were removed from a player’s garage once that player no longer held that status or position. The corresponding Protection Modules mentioned above will work in exactly the same way. Once the player’s special status is removed, the corresponding special Protection Module will also be removed from that player’s garage. Over the next 24-48 hours, we’ll be going through the player database and assigning these special Protection Modules to current owners of these paints.

    Paint Separation Update

Hi all, My apologies for taking so long to reply. Things just been piling up at a really fast rate. I would love to reply to all of your posts individually as I usually do, but as you can imagine, it's pretty much impossible. First of all, I'd like to let you know (in case you've missed it), that the forum mods are currently curating an FAQ section in this very thread. Here's the direct link to it: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=327891&p=5634291 While it doesn't answer ALL questions, it covers quite a bit of ground. Between that post and the original post, most of your questions and concerned should have been answered, so I ask you to please check there before posting any questions. Next, a word of reassurance — we're taking note of your feedback, of your worries, and your complaints. No, they're not falling on deaf ears. But I need you to realize that these things take some time. We'll do our best to strike a good balance so that everyone is happy. It won't be tomorrow, or maybe next week, but it will happen. Right now, what I need you all to do, is to calm down and continue discussing this issue with a level head and cordial tone of voice. I know some of you are upset. And I don't blame you. But please, take the time to construct your criticism in a way that will actually help you get what you want, rather than get confrontational. Please, can I have you on my side at least on this thing?

    Paint Separation Update

The idea behind this update is to give more flexibility to players — more options for aesthetic customization without restricting their strategic choices for protection. It really is quite simple. This isn't about the new boss stomping his feet and wanting to have things his own way. It's about finding new ideas to improve the game. and if by "new boss" you're referring to me, then please let me clarify that i'm not in a position to implement game design features. I appreciate what you're saying. However, you need to understand that these are separate teams of programmers, working on separate issues. While one team was working on this update, another team was (and still is) working on the issues you mention. The problem is that the issues in question are pretty complex to resolve. That's not to say we're not moving in the right direction. There are steps being taken in the right direction, even if it's not immediately apparent. Also, this thread is not the place to discuss this issues. Here we discuss the paints update. I know it's kinda related in some way, but please let's stick to the main topic. Again, while a valid topic, this isn't something that should be discussed in this thread. This isn't about comparing ourselves to other games. It's about continually improving the game. If something —anything— does not continually evolve and improve itself, it becomes obsolete and dies. You say you love the game just as it is. Many others have said that, and then whenever we implement an update that they like, they (rightfully) applaud and welcome it with open arms. Sometimes updates come out perfect. Other times, we need to make adjustments. That's normal. Heavens forbid we should live in terror of not getting things right the first time, otherwise, nothing would ever get done. As for this update, we'll keep monitoring the mechanics of it, and everyone's feedback. Rest assured we'll do our best to find a good balance suitable for everyone.

    Paint Separation Update

Saw your message. Will take me a couple of days to get to you, so please bear with me. ATTENTION: NOT all paints. There are some special paints that will not give you a protection module. Please read the original post carefully. We still don't know the details, so let's not speculate. It's best to wait for tomorrow and see for yourselves how it will work out. We don't have any details about pricing yet. What you're saying is a possibility, but not necessarily what will happen.

I thought it was the one with the brick... :D

    Paint Separation Update

IMPORTANT POINT: Micro-Upgrades WILL be carried over to the Protection Module. If your paint was micro-upgraded to 35/50, then the resulting Protection Module will be micro-upgraded at 35/50 Yes, and you will receive both a Paint Element and Protection Module from your old paints, EXCEPT for the special paints mentioned in the original post. Correct. If you like the looks of the "Tiger" paint but need protection against Vulcan, you can equip the Tiger Paint Element and then equip a Protection Module with Vulcan resistances. Not quite. You equip Paint Elements, and you equip Protection Modules, but you don't attach one to the other. They are completely different game elements. No, Paint Elements and Protection Modules will be sold separately. There might be cases where a Paint Element and a Protection Module are bundled within a kit, but that's still to be seen.

I honestly don't have any details regarding the matter of pricing. But the update is rolling out tomorrow, so I'm sure we'll know soon enough.

That would depend on what the kit contains, whether it's a Paint Element, or a Protection Module.

    Paint Separation Update

Please don't give too much wait to the old thread. Things might have changed between then and now. Let's stick to what's in this announcement, and if further clarification is required (and I'm sure you all have some very valid questions), we'll post them in here. Moderators will also be curating an FAQ section and adding to it as we start answering the most... wait for it... frequently asked questions :D

If you could elaborate on your comment, then we might be able to get valuable feedback from it, which would maybe help us improve the feature even more. Much as I would love to help you, unfortunately "what rubbish" doesn't really give us much to go on.

    Paint Separation Update

A few known issues : Tankers, we're listening and thanks for your invaluable feedback on a couple few things we missed out on. Rest assured, we will soon be addressing each one of them. Here's a little list : There is no information about the module micro-upgrades. The Wiki and other usual sources will be updated. Its a lengthy process. It will all be available soon on this page. The R key is at an inconvenient location on the keyboard, suggested other alternative keys be added. The R key needs to be held down constantly to be able to read the info. Make an on/off switch for it (the only way to do it right now is by using the Alt trick) We'll look into the mechanics of that process and see how we can better tune it to enhance the game play. We'll keep you posted about any decisions and solutions we come up with. In the mean time do keep posting your suggestions. Impossible to see which module you currently have equipped In-game popup while holding down the R key being too hard to read if there is too many players in one area (overlapping) We're looking for ways to refine this interface in upcoming updates, although at this point in time there is no certain information we can share with you about this issue. We'll publish more info when we get more info from game designers and developers. Impossible to tell what protection enemies have from far away. Particularly problematic for Shaft and Railgun This is not a bug. Its meant to be that way and this is a defining characteristic of long distance warfare in tanki. If you recall even before the update although it was possible for long range shooters to determine the protection from a paint it was never very effective over longer distances, not to mention you'd never guess MicroUpgrade value on the paints back then. Tanki is a very dynamic and relatively short game, nothing remains long distance too long and we've accounted for that. We're confident long range gunners will adapt very quickly. The modules have nearly identical names, such as Kodiak T-A and Kodiak T-B have a one-letter difference and 2 completely different sets of protections. At the moment there is no alternative naming system. This variation was chosen to avoid having 200 individual names to remember. If we see any better alternatives suggested by players - we will take them into consideration. Will the modules be shown in our profiles? Why did the paints disappear from profiles? We are currently reworking profiles page. The paints will be back in profiles and we might add modules there as well. There is a general aim to add more useful and interesting information to the profiles, so future updates are likely to happen there. Will there be a module with Smoky, Railgun and Thunder protection? Will there be personal discounts on modules? Will there be a sale on all remaining modules after I buy a few of them? New modules will be gradually added to the garage. And yes, we will even add certain new modules if a lot of players request the same combination. Personal and wholesale discounts do not apply to modules at the moment and are not planned. We first need to see how the update affects the game's economy before making further changes. Why can't Wasp M3 use 10% protection in XP/BP battles? (Format battles) To restore some balance. Any experienced XP/BP player knows how overpowered Wasp was in this context. With this update XP/BP players will now have a choice between a slower, sliding but ever so slightly more resilient tank or picking a smaller, faster, more nimble Wasp that always undergo the risk of being a 1 shot target. Additionally, some great news for amateur players - there is no longer any need for them to purchase a 10% or 20% protection module to participate in these format battles. If you have Wasp M2 or Hornet M2, you will automatically be given 10 or 20% protection respectively even if you currently have no Railgun modules purchased in your garage, or if the module you have equipped has more than the required protection. The game will automatically adjusts the protection level for you and completely takes away from the long process of having to change paint when shifting to and from format battles. Thy is there a need to show the tank's modification using yellow bars? Every player at middle ranks and above is able to tell the modifications apart by the tank's design, so why the unnecessary information? The information is useful for beginners, or those players climbing ranks and getting to see new designs of tanks and turrets and it helps them to acclimate to these changes much more swiftly throughout their progressing career. This aspect of the update is mostly aimed at them. What do the LGC, T-A, T-B, T-C, T-J and other acronyms on modules mean? LGC means Legacy. After that there is a number. This is needed to avoid having two identical items in the garage, so for example after the update there is a paint called Forester and a module called Forester LGC-1 T-A, T-B, T-C - those are markings of new modules. It's composite: the first letter tells the number of protections in the module (Single, Double, Triple) and the second letter is made to differentiate between the modules in the same set by giving them an alphabetical order. They can be referred to as the modules' serial numbers. The names of the modules define the module type. All Ocelot modules are for close-range combat. All Eagle modules are for long range. The rest of the modules are named according to a similar principle. We're already in process of updating these new game information on our wiki and forums and they'll be there soon.

    Paint Separation Update

Answers to your most asked questions : NOTE: This FAQ is being curated by forum moderators Q: What will happen to my paints? I have Microupgrades on them, I don't want to lose them! A: Don't worry! All your current paints have been split in two, a module and a paint. You still have the looks of the paint, and you now get a module that contains EXACTLY the protections you had on that paint. Check the tab in your garage Q: If I put a module on a paint, can I change it later or does it stay forever? A: You can change it as much as you want. These are considered separate items in the game now. You can even attach the legacy Prodigi module to your tank while wearing Sakura now. Q: Will it be possible to chose the protections you want in your module, or will they be presets like paint protections now? A: You won't be able to pick and choose which protections a module will have. Protections are set by the developers in each module with regards to overall game balance. Rest assured though, there's a wide variety available. Q: Will the paints' prices depend on their beauty or camouflage? A: Beauty. After the update, the only purpose that paints will serve is making you look amazing and perhaps help somewhat in camouflage. If you prefer to use the camouflage aspect of a paint to get a tactical advantage - you are in luck, because most paints with the best camouflage are relatively cheap. Q: Will the paints be more or less expensive than now? A: Both. Depending on their looks and appeal some have seen their prices increase while most others have seen a decrease. Q: Will kits contain paints, modules, or both? (or none?) A: Some kits might contain only a paint (no protection). Some might only contain the module (no paint). Other kits might have both paints and modules. As usual, kits will periodically get refreshed to offer tankers some bargains for buying items in a kit rather than individually. Update : A new batch of kits will be rolled out during the next coming week to adapt them to the new update. All the details will be posted in due time. Q: Will I be able to buy my favorite paints after the update? A: Yes you will be able to buy it and apply it to any tank you wish. Do note that a paint is only a visual element from now on. For protection against weapons of the enemy, you'll need to buy a module separately, or equip any one of the legacy ones you already have in your garage. Q: Will modules be upgradable? A: Each module will have 3 levels of modifications, M1, M2 and M3. All these modifications will be Microupgradable. Q: How about XP/BP? A: Good news for XP/BP players! Now if you have a M2 Wasp or M2 Hornet the system will automatically equip the protection for you, even if you don't have any sort of Rail-protection module in your garage, and incase you are wearing one that has more protection the system will reduce it accordingly. However, it should be noted that now M2 Wasp will equip 10% (instead of the previous 20%) and M3 Wasp will not be able to equip any sort of protection. This was done to balance XP/BP games. Q: What is the maximum protection a module can offer from a single turret? A: 35% for a default M3 module, which can be upgraded to 50% with Microupgrades Q: If it's 35%, won't people that have legacy modules like Prodigi (which has 48% from Rail) get an advantage in Pro battles where MUs are off? A: Not necessarily and here's why: It's true that the new modules will provide only 35% but it's going to provide 35% from 3 turrets, so if you think of it, you might be better off with a new module than with Prodigi's legacy module which only protects from Rail decently and not so well against other turrets. The choice will be yours to make in battle. Good Luck Q: What will happen to eSport paints like Silver, Champion or the Helper paint? The current owners of these paints will be receiving Protection Modules as follows: Owners of the Champion Paint will receive a module with 25% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Silver Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Bronze Paint will receive a module with 15% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Acid Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Star Paint will receive a module with 15% resistances against all turrets and mines Owners of the Helper Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines In their case the corresponding Protection Modules mentioned above will work in exactly the same way as before. Once these players' are no longer eligible for these special items, the corresponding paint as well as the special Protection Module will be removed from that player’s garage. Q: What about other paints not mentioned in the above, such as veteran or cobalt? These paints from now on will be classified as Status Paints. They won't have any protection modules attached to them but they will still be a rare exclusivity that only a few hardcore fighters will be able to unlock. Q: Why is there so much lag after the update? This is most likely caused by tens of thousands of players constantly switching between lobby, battles and garage to figure out how the new update works. The lag should gradually subside as players get used to the new system.

    Paint Separation Update

Tankers! If you’ve been following the official Tanki Online channels, you probably know that our programmers have been working on a very important update codenamed «Disintegration». With this update, all paints have been separated into two elements — Paint Elements (purely visual, with no protection whatsoever) and Protection Modules (purely for protective purposes). The great news is that the wait is over, and the update is now in the game! Key points you need to know This update affects ALL existing paints. That includes the paints in your garage. As explained above, all of your paints have been separated into their respective Paint Element and Protection Module. Any micro-upgrades you may have had on your existing paints have been transferred —exactly as they are— to the Protection Module. You will now be able to combine any Paint Element with any Protection Module. An example Let’s say you have the “Tiger” paint in your garage, with 35/50 micro-upgrades. With this update, your Tiger paint has been separated into: A Paint Element with a tiger pattern (and no protection), and A Protection Module with 35/50 micro-upgrades, and protections against Railgun, Smoky, and Hammer. If you’ve always loved the Tiger paint, but don’t find those protections useful, with this update you’ll be able to combine your Tiger paint with another set of protections that is more useful for your playing style. Other details This update has also introduced the following changes: From now on, only new Protection Modules with new protection combinations will be available for sale. The Protection Modules from old paints that existed prior to the «Disintegration Update», will never again be available for sale. These will remain in the game as «Legacy Modules» in the garages of players who owned the respective paints prior to the update. You’ll be able to view your opponent’s technical details, including equipment level, micro-upgrade level, and resistances. To do this, you’ll need to have your opponent in view and press (and hold) “R” on your keyboard. If your opponent is equipped with resistances against your current weapon, you'll be able to see a shield disintergation_resists_garage_button icon in front of his nickname, and the percentage of protection he has against your turret Paint prices have changed (some are cheaper, others are more expensive), and also affect the prices of any kits in which they are included. Premium paints have been stripped of their protections and will remain purely as Paint Elements. These premium paints will not give you a Protection Module. This also applies to other special paints such as Helper, Champion, Silver and Veteran (where required, these protections will be added by the administration as needed). So, head into the game right now and try the new paints and protection modules!
  23. ===IMPORTANT=== Hi everyone. Please remember that this thread is ONLY for reporting glitches and bugs that have appeared after the server issues of July 11th. Any other issues should NOT be posted in here. If you're missing PRO Battle Passes, Premium Time, or crystals, DO NOT post here. Instead, please contact customer support. If you should have received a prize for one of the EURO contests, but still haven't received it, DO NOT post here. Instead, please see this thread.
  24. That's intentional. It's a feature that was rolled out last week, to make the process smoother.
